Chapter 873 They Can't Be in Cahoots
Randy didn't wait for Fiona.
Instead, Brandon showed up, wearing a smug grin.
"Looks like you've been tossed aside too."
Brandon plopped down across from Randy, his smile dripping with arrogance.
"She paid me to come check on you. You know what that means, right?"
"Just yesterday, I told you you'd be the heir to the Torres family. Funny how things change, huh?"
Randy sat there, staring daggers at Brandon, his eyes filled with murderous intent.
Sensing Randy's hatred, Brandon took a deep breath and leaned back comfortably in his chair.
"I know why you're looking for Fiona. You want her to get you out of here."
"But since she sent me and didn't give me any instructions, you're stuck."
"However, if you beg me, I might help you."
Randy narrowed his eyes. "And if I beg you, will you help?"
Brandon laughed, leaning in closer.
"Of course not."
"I'm the guy who got kicked out of the Torres family. Where would I get the connections or money to help you?"
Randy's eyes filled with layers of despair.
Having lost his parents early, he valued family deeply.
Over the years, no matter what Brandon and Fiona asked of him, he did it diligently.
But he never expected that when he was in trouble, Fiona would abandon him, and Brandon would mock him.
Seeing the despair in Randy's eyes, Brandon smiled.
"Randy, you've done a lot for the Torres family over the years."
"But a loser is a loser. You brought this on yourself."
"You thought you could lose Jasper and Adeline's child, replace them with a fake, and I wouldn't find out?"
"And this time, you got caught because you couldn't control your desires."
"It's all your fault, so don't blame us for being heartless."
He sighed.
"But in a way, it's good that you're in here."
"Fiona's getting old. She needs someone by her side."
"My dad's gone, and now you're in prison."
Brandon laughed smugly. "Looks like this person who was kicked out of the Torres family is going back."
Randy also laughed, looking at Brandon's arrogance.
"You think you're her only choice? You're wrong."
"She has a friend's kid named Kurt."
Brandon's brow furrowed. "A friend's kid?"
"I've never heard of him."
Randy sneered. "You've never done her dirty work, so of course you don't know."
Whenever Randy handled bloody tasks for Fiona and she was dissatisfied, she'd always praise Kurt.
Based on his understanding of Fiona, now that he's in prison, Kurt would likely return.
And then, there'd be another storm.
"Randy, I know you can't accept that I'm going back to the Torres family, but there's no need to make up a nonexistent person."
Brandon didn't believe Randy at all.
He stood up, his lips curling with coldness.
"I was going to help you talk to the guards, treat you well."
"But your jealousy isn't worth my effort."
With that, he turned and left.
Randy sat in his chair, watching Brandon's departing figure, his eyes narrowing.
After Brandon left, the police captain walked in.
"You've seen your family. Ready to confess?"
Randy smiled.
"I know I can't escape this time. I'll confess now."
"But I want you to contact Jasper. I need to see him."
"Sir."
At ten in the morning.
When Jasper finally finished the meeting that had been interrupted yesterday, Ryan quickly approached.
"The police called. Randy confessed."
"But he wants to see you."
Jasper paused slightly as he organized his files.
Randy wanted to see him?
He didn't recall having any dealings with Randy.
But Randy was the real culprit behind Giselle's murder.
Since he requested a meeting, Jasper wouldn't refuse.
He put down his work, straightened his clothes, and headed to the police station.
As Jasper's black sports car pulled up to the station, Adeline was walking out with Tamsin, discussing the Phoebe Group.
Seeing Jasper, Adeline was somewhat surprised.
Jasper was also taken aback.
He was surprised that Adeline had been released from the police station, and the person picking her up wasn't Howard or Oliver, but a woman he'd never seen before, wearing sunglasses.
As he looked at Adeline, she looked back at him.
Their eyes met.
Adeline was stunned for a moment, then sneered.
"Mr. Foster, what brings you here?"
"Are you here to celebrate my release, or to find a way to put me back in?"
Jasper narrowed his eyes and smiled. "What do you think?"
He threw the question back at her, indicating he didn't want to answer.
Adeline sneered, about to say something, when the police captain rushed out.
"Mr. Foster, you're finally here!"
"If you didn't come, Randy would say I broke my promise!"
"He confessed and is about to be transferred to prison. He's waiting for you!"
The captain's appearance broke the tension between Adeline and Jasper.
Jasper politely followed the captain into the station.
"My assistant didn't tell me. I only found out after my meeting, or I wouldn't be this late."
Jasper and the captain brushed past Adeline.
Adeline stood there, almost unable to believe her ears.
Randy confessed and wanted to see Jasper?
But Randy was from the Torres family, and Jasper was from the Foster family.
These two should be mortal enemies.
How could it be?
How could Jasper have any connection with someone like Randy?
"Surprised?"
Tamsin pulled Adeline towards the parking lot, opening the car door for her.
"When the police were capturing Randy, Jasper was helping him escape."
"If it weren't for Jasper, Randy would've been caught long ago, and you could've gone home yesterday."
Adeline's mind was in a whirl.
"But Randy and Jasper can't be accomplices."
Even if Jasper was ruthless, he wouldn't have someone harm Giselle.
Especially not in such a brutal way.
"They're definitely not accomplices."
Tamsin smiled. "But if Randy stayed out a few more days, you'd be in the station a few more days."
Her words sent a chill through Adeline's heart.
