Chapter 830 You Have Made Up, Haven't You
The next morning, Adeline woke up to sunlight streaming through the window and birds chirping outside.
She stretched and climbed out of bed.
Instead of her familiar bedroom, she found herself in a minimalist black and white room.
For a moment, Adeline's mind went blank.
Where was she?
Why did this room look so much like Jasper's?
Rubbing her aching temples, the events of the previous night came rushing back.
She and Jasper...
Instinctively, she looked down.
She was completely naked, and the room was a mess.
Everything screamed at her just how wild things had gotten between her and Jasper last night.
Adeline was stunned for a few seconds before she finally remembered.
Last night, Jasper had carried her into this bedroom.
Feeling regretful, Adeline flopped back onto the bed.
Half-drunk and half-sober, she had ended up with Jasper...
But now, with her senses returning, the shame hit her all at once.
Biting her lip, Adeline tossed and turned on the bed, berating herself for being so impulsive last night. Eventually, she got up and took a shower.
Her clothes from last night had been ruined by Isaiah, but thankfully, Jasper had left some clothes for her by the bedside.
After her shower, she changed into the new clothes and silently looked at herself in the mirror.
Jasper was indeed more considerate and gentle than before.
In the past, he would never have prepared clothes for her in the morning, nor remembered her size and style.
But now, the dress fit perfectly and was from a brand she liked.
Looking at herself in the mirror, Adeline couldn't help but sigh.
If this had been before, seeing Jasper change like this would have made her happy and excited.
But now...
Now that there was no future for them, his efforts only made her feel worse.
Taking a deep breath, she composed herself and reluctantly headed downstairs.
The house was a simple three-story villa, and Adeline's room was on the second floor.
In the living room on the first floor, Jasper was lounging on the sofa, reading the Oceancrest City news.
The news was all about the grand wedding of Brandon and Daisy happening tomorrow night.
Some were even calling it the most magnificent wedding in Oceancrest City's history.
Jasper put down the newspaper and looked up to see Adeline coming down the stairs in her new clothes.
A slight smile played on his lips. "Morning. You sleep okay?"
Feeling Jasper's intense gaze, Adeline felt a bit nervous.
She pressed her lips together, took a deep breath, and nodded silently.
Jasper stood up and walked towards the dining room. "I made breakfast. You should eat before you go."
Adeline quickly waved her hand. "No, thanks."
Given their current relationship, staying over last night was already awkward enough. How could she stay for breakfast?
As she descended the stairs, she spoke softly, "Jasper, thanks for saving me last night."
"I wasn't fully conscious and did things I shouldn't have. Just forget about it, okay? Pretend it never happened."
Jasper, who was serving porridge in the dining room, narrowed his eyes slightly.
He looked up, his gaze playful as he watched Adeline come down the stairs. "If you can say you did things you shouldn't have, it means you remember what happened last night."
"You were conscious."
His words made Adeline freeze.
She bit her lip and instinctively looked away, avoiding his gaze. "I don't remember. I was just talking nonsense."
Jasper didn't call her out on the lie and continued serving the porridge. "Remembering isn't a bad thing. It's a nice memory."
He sighed and placed the bowl of porridge on the table. "But since you remember everything from last night, you should know how much energy you used up."
"So I suggest you eat something before you leave. Otherwise, I'm afraid you won't make it outside."
Adeline bit her lip, glanced at her trembling legs, and finally sighed. She walked towards the dining table.
The food on the table was all light dishes she liked.
Summoning her courage, Adeline sat down opposite Jasper and began eating the porridge seriously.
She just wanted to finish quickly and gather enough strength to leave.
But just then, her phone rang. It was Lauren calling.
Adeline remembered it was Saturday.
For the past six months, Lauren had called her every Saturday to update her on the kids and share funny stories from kindergarten.
Sometimes, Bennett would also chat with Adeline through Lauren's phone.
But Blake never spoke.
Lauren had mentioned that Blake always avoided the calls.
Adeline knew Blake was angry with her.
But what happened back then wasn't intentional.
Taking a deep breath, Adeline cleared her throat and made sure she sounded okay before answering the call.
"Mommy!"
Lauren's voice was bright and cheerful. "Remember I told you about Mia's little girl?"
"She has a name now, Clementine!"
"Isn't that name adorable? Ms. White, my brothers, and I came up with it together!"
Adeline responded softly while eating her porridge, "It's very cute."
"By the way, Mommy," Lauren continued, "Has Daddy contacted you recently?"
"I sent him my design sketches. Did he give them to you?"
Adeline paused and instinctively glanced at Jasper.
Jasper shrugged while eating, "There was a problem with the delivery. I haven't received them yet."
Adeline frowned, about to speak, when Lauren's excited voice interrupted.
"Mommy!!"
"Are you with Daddy?"
"It's only six in the morning. What are you doing together?"
"Having breakfast."
Since they were already exposed, Jasper answered directly.
Adeline frowned and glared at him, then lowered her voice, "Lauren, Mommy and Daddy..."
"You've made up, haven't you?"
Lauren's voice was full of excitement. "This is the best news I've heard in a long time!"
"Blake! Bennett!"
"Mommy and Daddy are having breakfast together so early. They must have spent the night together!"
"They've made up!"
Adeline rubbed her temples in frustration and glared at Jasper, as if blaming him for speaking out of turn.
Jasper shrugged. "I didn't do it on purpose."
Adeline sighed and spent a lot of effort explaining to Lauren that she had only stayed at Jasper's place for the night.
But Lauren remained excited.
After calming her down, Adeline finally ended the call, feeling exhausted.
Putting away her phone, Adeline took a deep breath and was about to leave when there was a knock on Jasper's door.
A woman's gentle voice accompanied the knock, "Mr. Foster, it's Giselle Montague. I've brought you breakfast."
Adeline frowned and instinctively looked at Jasper. "Who is that?"
Jasper leaned back in his chair, "You can go on dates, but I can't have a woman come over?"
