Chapter 586 This is outrageous
"How could you decide to get engaged without even telling us?"
The day after Jasper and Adeline announced their engagement, Nathan showed up at Blue Bay with Brenda and Rex early in the morning.
He plopped down on the villa's sofa, fuming. "You all knew I just got back to Radiance Springs a few days ago, and you still ignored me, your father! Jasper, do you even respect me as your dad?"
"What do you think, Dad?" Sitting in his wheelchair, Jasper shot Nathan a cold look. "You've barely cared about my life since I was a kid."
He added, "I always thought you blamed me for Mom dying in childbirth, so you didn't want to come home or face me. Even though you didn't love me, I still respected you."
Jasper's deep, unreadable eyes flicked over to Brenda and Rex behind Nathan. "Until these two showed up, I realized the rumors weren't true."
He added, "You just found a new love outside."
He set his coffee cup down indifferently, his gaze and voice equally cold. "When you got together with Brenda and had your illegitimate son, you didn't ask for my or Grandma's opinion."
He smirked slightly. "So why should I inform you about my marriage to Adeline?"
Nathan's face turned red, then white. "I'm your elder! I don't need to inform you about what I do!"
"Yes, Jasper." Before Nathan could finish, Brenda butted in, "Nathan is your father after all. You should respect your elders."
Jasper curled his lips, his gaze icy as he looked at the three people in front of him. "Elders like him don't deserve my respect."
He turned his wheelchair to the butler. "Show them out!"
The butler quickly nodded and walked over. "Please."
Nathan's face turned red with anger. "Jasper, I'm your father! If you don't respect me, how will people think of you?"
Jasper, with his back to him, smiled coldly. "Do you think I care?"
Nathan gritted his teeth, glaring at Jasper's back. "I heard you and Adeline are having your engagement party at the Aurora Grand Hotel tonight."
He added, "Do you think I won't bring Rex to your engagement party and expose your true colors?"
Jasper didn't turn around. "I should remind you that the hotels you're staying in are owned by me"
He continued, "If you want to be kicked out and end up on the streets, go ahead and cause trouble at my engagement party."
"Then, let everyone in Radiance Springs see how Mr. Nathan Foster found a new love shortly after my mother passed away, and how you tried to seize my assets while I was in a coma." His words made the three's faces turn extremely awkward.
"Forget it." Seeing the tension, Brenda pursed her lips and gently tugged on Nathan's sleeve. "Don't argue with Jasper. He's your son, after all."
She took a deep breath and looked at Jasper's back. "Jasper, your father was out of line. You're right; we have no right to interfere in your private life."
"I'll take your father away now. We won't cause any trouble at your engagement party tonight!" She promised.
After that, they left Blue Bay. Hearing the villa door close, Jasper leaned back tiredly in his wheelchair.
He closed his eyes and asked the butler beside him, "Where's Adeline?"
"Mrs. Foster went out early to buy fresh fish to make fish soup for you at noon."
Jasper's lips curled into a smile, and the displeasure brought by Nathan's family instantly vanished.
"This is outrageous! Without the Foster family's legacy, would he have his current achievements?" Leaving Blue Bay, Rex, who didn't dare to breathe loudly in front of Jasper, coldly snorted as he walked.
Rex added, "He's a descendant of the Foster family, and so am I. He's been hogging the Foster family's assets all these years, but I've never said anything!"
He continued, "Now he's threatening to kick us out of the hotel and onto the streets. It's too much!"
Brenda couldn't help but start wiping her tears. "We haven't argued all these years, so he thinks we don't care."
She added, "Blame it on me for being too indifferent to fame and fortune. It wasn't until I heard he was dying and feared the Foster Group's assets would be taken by others that I allowed your father to bring us back."
Seeing his wife and son like this, Nathan felt even more guilty. "Don't be like this. Rest assured, I will find a way to get you what you deserve!"
As soon as he said this, Rex and Brenda exchanged a glance, a hint of a smile in their eyes.
At that moment, a black Maserati stopped at the entrance of Blue Bay. Alice opened the car door and took out the groceries Adeline had bought from the trunk.
Adeline, meanwhile, was on the phone as she got out of the car.
"Then let's go to Starlight Glamour Gowns at four in the afternoon. The engagement was so sudden, I haven't prepared a dress yet." She spoke as she walked towards the villa with Alice, not noticing the three people not far from the villa entrance.
"How rude." Brenda sighed and gently took Nathan's arm. "Nathan, what will we do in the future if such a person is going to be our daughter-in-law?"
Nathan squinted his eyes tightly. Rex, on the other hand, looked in the direction Adeline had left, a faint smile on his lips.
The engagement party was set to start at six o'clock. If Adeline went to Starlight Glamour Gowns at four and then disappeared, the engagement wouldn't continue.
