Chapter 596 Do You Like the Gift I Gave You?

Adeline froze up completely!

Dealing with Molly's nonsense and pretending to be engaged to Rex was already outrageous.

And now Molly wanted her to kiss Rex in front of Jasper, the kids, and all these people who were clearly mocking her and Jasper?

No way!

But Rex was all for it. He walked up to Adeline with a sleazy grin. "Adeline, since Miss Collins wants a show, let's give her one. It's gonna happen sooner or later anyway."

As he got closer, the smell of his cheap cologne made her head pound. She instinctively stepped back, but Molly held her in place.

Molly smirked, "Adeline, Rex wants a kiss, why are you backing off? Don't you want to kiss him?"

She added, "If you don't, why'd you agree to get engaged to him?"

Adeline gritted her teeth and glared at Molly. She didn't want to be engaged to Rex, let alone kiss him! If it weren't for Sebastian and Bennett, she wouldn't be up here playing along with this gross act.

"What, do you think Sebastian and Bennett have too many fingers?" Molly whispered threateningly in her ear, "Or should I find someone to use the hammer that smashed your fingers back then to smash theirs too, just like yours? Or do you want their finger bones shattered into even smaller pieces?"

Adeline's blood ran cold. She bit her lip hard, her whole body shaking.

No one knew better than her how agonizing it was to have her fingers smashed. She couldn't let Bennett and Sebastian go through that!

Thinking of this, Adeline took a deep breath, closed her eyes, and with a pale face, waited for Rex to kiss her. But after a long wait, the cheap cologne didn't get any closer.

Adeline frowned and opened her eyes.

In front of her, Rex crossed his arms, pouting, "Why'd you dodge when I tried to kiss you? I'm not kissing you now; you kiss me."

He pointed to his ugly, burn-scarred face. "Here, kiss it."

Adeline's hands clenched tightly at her sides.

Rex was not only gross in looks but also in his actions! He knew she was being threatened, and he could have refused. But he agreed and even helped Molly make things worse for her!

"Adeline, kiss him." Molly laughed, leading the crowd in jeering. "Do you want to see them kiss?"

At first, the crowd was afraid to speak because of Jasper's intimidating presence.

Seeing Jasper stay still for so long, the crowd started cheering for more dramas.

So the hall echoed with jeers.

"Kiss him!"

Standing on the stage, Adeline felt like she'd been hit in the head. She felt her steps becoming unsteady, her mind a bit foggy.

These people were no longer human; they were monsters.

She glanced at the crowd.

In the crowd, Jasper sat in his wheelchair, his eyes cold, watching the stage silently. Beside him, Tim and Tom held Blake and Lauren tightly.

Ryan covered their eyes with his hand.

Seeing this made Adeline's tears well up.

What good was it for Ryan to cover their eyes? They could still hear the crowd and feel the tension in the hall. She felt like she had let the kids down.

Before the engagement ceremony today, Blake had seriously said he would stop calling Jasper by his name and start calling him Daddy.

Lauren was also thrilled, thinking her long-held wish had come true, that she could finally proudly introduce her Daddy and Mommy to others without explaining why they were separated.

Even though her engagement and marriage to Jasper were fake, the kids had taken it seriously.

But now, with all these changes happening on stage, they were only six years old. Could they really handle such a blow?

What they thought was the happiest day, their Daddy being called a scumbag, Bennett calling Molly Mommy, fabricating lies.

And their biological mother, changing the groom to the person they hated the most at the wedding and turning Jasper into the laughingstock of Radiance Springs.

Now, she even had to kiss this disgusting man beside her!

"Adeline."

Behind her, Molly's voice snapped Adeline back to reality.

She took a deep breath, feeling waves of despair. "I'll kiss him."

After saying that, she took a deep breath, held it, and slowly moved her mouth towards Rex's face.

Just as everyone in the hall was waiting for Adeline to kiss Rex, a loud door-kicking sound echoed.

Adeline's body froze.

She quickly looked towards the door. The one who kicked the door was Larry from the Foster Mansion.

Behind Larry was Lily Foster, leaning on a cane.

"Mother?" Nathan frowned, quickly stepping off the stage.

After a few steps, he turned to Rex, who was still waiting for Adeline to kiss him. "What are you standing there for? Hurry up and go greet Grandma!"

Lily had never liked Rex and his mother. The day Nathan brought them back, Lily had thrown all of Nathan's things out of the Foster Mansion.

With Lily's appearance at such an event, it was a perfect opportunity to please her and return to the Foster family!

After all, the Foster family valued their reputation, and Lily wouldn't embarrass him in front of so many people!

With Nathan's words, Rex hesitated for a moment, then quickly left Adeline and followed Nathan off the stage.

Watching Nathan and Rex go to greet Lily, Adeline felt a wave of relief wash over her.

Thank goodness Lily arrived in time; otherwise...

If she had really kissed Rex today, she might have thrown up everything she had eaten!

"Don't be too happy too soon."

After Nathan and Rex left the stage, only Molly, Adeline, and Bennett remained on stage.

Molly leaned close to Adeline's ear and sneered. "Rex is your fiancé now. There will be plenty of opportunities to get intimate in the future."

She lowered her voice, playfully saying, "Adeline, do you like the gift I gave you?"
