Chapter 359 You Need to Pull Yourself Together Soon

Looking at the photo of Thomas and Mia in their wedding outfits, Adeline felt nothing but irony.

She had lost two kids suddenly, and another was in critical condition.

Thomas, who almost killed her three kids six years ago and killed one just over a month ago, was now happily posing with Mia for wedding photos and planning a grand wedding.

Even the media was spinning a beautiful love story about Thomas and Mia growing up together.

Reading those fake, romantic stories, Adeline felt nothing but irony.

Why?

Why did Thomas, who hurt her and her kids so deeply, get such a happy ending?

Why did she, who never hurt anyone, have to endure so much pain?

Taking a deep breath, Adeline checked the date of Mia and Thomas's wedding. It was a week away.

That meant she had one week to show Mia Thomas's true colors!

She gripped her phone tightly. Whether it was Jasper or Thomas, anyone who hurt her and killed her kids wouldn't get away with it!

Thomas planned to marry Mia and then secretly kill her to inherit billions, didn't he?

She was determined to drag Thomas into hell!

Just then, Adeline's phone rang. It was an unfamiliar number.

Without thinking, she answered, "Blake!"

"It's me." The voice on the other end wasn't Blake's but Brandon's.

Adeline froze. "You."

"I heard you woke up," Brandon said calmly. "Are you okay?"

Adeline gripped her phone tightly, her emotions suddenly complicated.

She bit her lip. "I'm okay."

"A month ago, when I took Blake to Radiance Springs, I visited you. But you were still in a coma then," Brandon said.

"I wanted to wait until you woke up, but after a week, you still hadn't woken up, and I was being urged to return, so I left."

Brandon's words warmed Adeline's heart slightly.

"It's okay," Adeline said.

She always knew how busy Brandon was.

"After all, I don't have much going on," Adeline added.

"I wanted to apologize to you."

Brandon seemed to be standing on a balcony, his voice calm, mixed with the sound of the wind.

"At that time, Jasper used 10% of the Foster Group's shares to request a meeting with Blake. I didn't want to agree, but you know my grandmother."

"After my grandmother agreed, I had to comply. I couldn't let people think the Torres family was untrustworthy."

Brandon sighed. "Otherwise, I really wouldn't have let him take Blake."

Adeline closed her eyes and sighed deeply. "I understand."

After a long silence, Brandon took a deep breath. "When do you plan to come back?"

"If Blake's condition worsens, you can tell me anytime," Brandon continued.

"I can't do anything about Blake's illness, but I've already told my family that I will hold a grand funeral for him."

Adeline's knuckles turned white as she gripped her phone.

Blake was still alive!

He was still alive. How could he talk about his funeral!

But Brandon was the savior of her and her three kids, and she knew he didn't mean to upset her.

Adeline bit her lip hard, trying to control her emotions. "Brandon, as long as Blake is still alive, I don't want to discuss this with you."

Brandon was silent for a moment on the other end.

"I mean no harm," Brandon said.

"I know," Adeline said.

Adeline closed her eyes. "But I don't want to talk about it."

"As long as he's alive, I won't give up hope of curing him."

Brandon was silent for a moment. Then he said, "Adeline, I know this is hard to accept."

"But you just lost a child a month ago."

"Even if you and Jasper work together, it might be too late."

Adeline closed her eyes. "I don't want to argue with you."

She tried to control her emotions. "Brandon, I just lost two children, and you're talking about losing a third. Do you think that's appropriate?"

Brandon paused.

"I know you mean well, but you can't understand my feelings right now," Adeline said.

"I don't want to argue with you. Goodbye."

Putting away her phone, Adeline looked up and saw a thin figure at the door.

Blake had lost a lot of weight since her return to the country; his hospital gown fluttered in the breeze, outlining his thin legs and frame.

Though his body was exceedingly thin, his face appeared somewhat round, not due to flesh but rather from swelling.

He stood there, quietly watching Adeline with his big blue eyes.

Seeing Adeline look at him, Blake smiled faintly. "Mommy, you've lost weight."

"You need to eat more."

Hearing his caring tone, Adeline's tears instantly welled up.

She got off the bed. She was in such a hurry that she pulled the blanket down with her legs and swept everything off the bedside table.

But she couldn't care about that now. She rushed forward and hugged Blake tightly. "Why are you here? How long have you been here?"

"I've been here for a while. I heard you discussing my funeral with Brandon, so I didn't disturb you," Blake said.

His words made Adeline's heart ache. Her eyes brimmed with tears, and though she longed to speak, no words emerged.

She held Blake tightly.

"The doctor said you woke up, and Violet said you would come to see me, so I waited," Blake said.

Blake reached out and gently stroked Adeline's bony back. "But I didn't want to wait anymore."

"Mommy, I miss you."

Blake's words made Adeline's emotions uncontrollable.

She held Blake and cried loudly. "Babe, am I a failure?"

"I can't save you. I failed to protect Bennett and take care of Lauren. I even let your unborn sibling die."

"I'm the most useless person in the world."

"I don't deserve to be your mommy and don't deserve to stand in front of you."

Blake held Adeline. His eyes filled with tears, but he held them back. "Mommy, don't think like that."

"I will live well, and Lauren will be fine too."

He took a deep breath and gently patted Adeline's back. "Bennett and I are identical twins, we have a special bond."

"He must be alive, waiting somewhere in the world for you to find him."

"So, Mommy, don't be sad. Cheer up, okay?"

Adeline sniffled. She didn't know if Blake's words were true. She thought he was just comforting her.

But she still held Blake tightly. "Mommy believes you."

"I believe Bennett is still alive."

Blake tried to smile, gently drawing on Adeline's back with his fingers. "Mommy, get better soon. Maybe I can be saved too. When I'm better, we can find Bennett and take care of Lauren together, okay?"

Adeline's tears flowed. "Okay!"

"Mommy promises you!"

They hugged tightly at the hospital door.

At the elevator at the end of the hallway, Jasper, having heard the conversation, silently turned his head.

David raised his hand and patted his shoulder. "Since your eldest son said so, why don't you send someone to look for Bennett?"
