Chapter 590 Was She Really Trying on Dresses with You Just Now?
Sebastian's hometown was pretty far off.
If Sebastian was really free and leaving Radiance Springs, he would've hit her up.
Plus, Adeline had gone to see Sebastian's parents, and they were still deep in the grief of losing him.
So, Bennett's story about Sebastian heading back home was just a cover. Sebastian must be going through a rough patch.
If he was doing fine, Bennett wouldn't need to lie about him going home.
Thinking about this made Adeline feel uneasy. She turned to Bennett and asked again, "Do you still talk to him? Is he okay?"
Bennett paused, looking a bit puzzled at Adeline.
It was Sebastian who had a thing for her before, so why was she worried about him now?
Despite his confusion, he answered her seriously, "Yeah, we still keep in touch, and he's doing alright."
He added, "If you miss him, I can pass on your regards next time we talk."
Hearing this, Adeline finally felt a bit better. She took a deep breath, smiled at him, and said, "Thanks."
Bennett couldn't help but glance at her again. "Aren't you getting engaged tonight? Focus on that."
Adeline was quiet for a moment, then couldn't help but laugh.
Even after losing his memory, Bennett still had his habit of nagging her. He didn't seem like a six-year-old at all.
Soon, the car pulled up at Starlight Glamour Gowns, where Violet and Adeline had planned to meet.
From a distance, Adeline saw Violet anxiously waiting at the door. She turned and said goodbye to Bennett, "I'm here."
Bennett nodded, glancing at the scars on her face from the masked man. "Put on some good makeup. You need to look stunning tonight."
Adeline smiled, "See you tonight."
"Wait." Just as Adeline was about to get out of the car, Bennett called out to her.
Adeline frowned and turned back, "What's up?"
Bennett looked at her face, hesitating. After a moment, he took a deep breath, "I hope you remember, I'm not a bad kid."
With that, Bennett closed the car door, and the Bentley quickly drove away.
Adeline stood there, feeling like a piece of her heart was missing.
"Didn't you say you were taking a cab?"
Seeing Adeline standing there in a daze, Violet quickly came over, "Is this the cab you were talking about? It's way too fancy!"
Adeline rolled her eyes at her and turned towards the dress shop, "Stop joking, we're running out of time."
Violet quickly followed, "Where did you go just now? Jasper called me earlier, and I said you were changing clothes."
An hour later, Adeline's car finally pulled up at the entrance of the ceremony venue.
Violet, holding Adeline's dress, frowned and said, "Adeline, who do you think kidnapped you? From what you said, he kept mentioning Jasper, so it should be Jasper's enemy."
She added, "But no one would dare mess with Jasper and his people. So who exactly kidnapped you?"
Adeline frowned and shook her head. "I have no idea."
Before she could finish speaking, she spotted Nathan, Brenda, and Rex up ahead.
Nathan and Brenda were dressed to the nines, looking every bit the solemn parents of the groom.
Rex, on the other hand, had his suit all crooked and was tying his tie while walking, clearly in a rush.
Adeline couldn't help but frown. Lately, every time she saw them, the three of them were always together.
It seemed like they didn't leave together today.
Just as Adeline was looking at Rex, he turned his head. Their eyes met.
Rex quickly looked away in a panic and adjusted his suit. When he raised his hand, Adeline clearly saw a large burn scar on his right hand.
Her whole body suddenly froze!
"What's wrong?" Noticing Adeline's strange behavior, Violet quickly came over.
Adeline glanced at the backs of the three, her eyes narrowing slightly. "Nothing."
"Adeline, Violet!"
From the entrance, Mia, who had been waiting there, walked over quickly. Along with Violet, she held Adeline's dress.
"What are you standing at the door for? Jasper has been waiting for you inside for a long time!"
Adeline quickly followed Violet and Mia into the venue.
In the farthest corner of the venue, Jasper was sitting quietly, elegantly peeling an orange for Lauren.
Lauren and Blake were sitting beside him, and the table was already piled high with oranges.
The three of them looked up simultaneously.
"Adeline."
"Mommy!"
Although Adeline was already used to Jasper's handsome face, the moment he looked up at her, she still felt her heart skip a beat.
Jasper's eyes were still deep and cold, with a sharpness and arrogance that could see through all her thoughts.
Back then, it was because of this face that Adeline fell in love with Jasper at first sight and embarked on the path of loving him.
At this moment, even though it was a fake engagement ceremony, when she saw him in a white suit, looking at her affectionately, her heart raced.
"What's wrong?"
Jasper squinted, noticing that a part of her face seemed to have thicker foundation than the rest.
Considering that her phone had been unreachable for a while and Violet's hesitant tone when he called her, Jasper furrowed his brows deeply.
Feeling his gaze, Adeline quickly turned her face away. "It's nothing."
Jasper turned to look at Violet. "Was she really trying on dresses with you just now?"
