Chapter 259 How come you have Bennett and Lauren with you?

Adeline shut her eyes.

She had a hunch Stella had leaked the video online, which put her in a tough spot.

On one side, there was her career, something she had poured years into and wanted to keep forever. On the other hand, her parents raised her for over twenty years. Both were crucial parts of her life.

Her hands balled into fists.

Adeline felt she had been too trusting. The past couple of weeks, she had been so swamped with work that she almost forgot about Stella, the ticking time bomb.

After what seemed like forever, the car finally stopped.

Jasper's cold voice broke the silence, "You can get out here."

Adeline opened her eyes and saw that Jasper had dropped her off at Willowcrest Terrace.

"Thanks," she said before stepping out.

"Adeline," Jasper called out casually just as she turned away.

She frowned and turned back, "What is it?"

Jasper leaned back, hands resting on the leather seat, "How about inviting me up for dinner?"

Adeline frowned deeper.

Dinner? If he came up, who knew what might happen between them alone? Even though she was desperate to have a child with him to save Blake, today's mess left her with no interest.

After a moment, she sighed, "If it weren't for the plagiarism issue, I'd be happy to invite you up to celebrate."

She chuckled bitterly, "But now, the director of the Foster Group's design department is accused of plagiarism, and the company's stock has taken a hit."

"In this situation, I doubt you'd want to celebrate."

Jasper raised an eyebrow and smiled, "Didn't think you'd care about the stock price."

Adeline smirked, "It's only natural."

In truth, she never paid attention to the stock price. She saw the news while looking up info on the plagiarism accusations.

Jasper tapped his chin, "I'm not too worried about the stock price."

He glanced at her, "You'll make it back for me."

"Thanks for the confidence," Adeline chuckled, "But if this issue isn't resolved, and I can't design anymore, I probably won't be making any money for you."

With that, she turned and walked upstairs.

Jasper sat in the car, watching her slender figure disappear into the building, his gaze deep.

Once she was out of sight, Ryan turned to Jasper, "Mr. Foster, if this isn't resolved, will Adeline really not be able to design anymore?"

Ryan remembered Adeline's secret identity as Moon, a famous jewelry designer from Euronia. Her unique designs were worth millions.

Would such a talented designer be unable to design because of this minor incident?

Leaning back, Jasper closed his eyes.

Adeline's skills were exceptional.

Even Stella supported reporting her biological father to ensure justice for Daniel's framing of Adeline.

But Adeline's stance was clear. She didn't want Daniel to go to prison.

"I'll figure something out."

After a deep breath, Jasper opened his eyes and glanced at Ryan, "You have a girlfriend, right?"

Ryan was surprised but nodded. "Yeah, we're getting married in three months."

Then, as if remembering something, Ryan turned back, "Mr. Foster, weren't we talking about Adeline's situation?"

Why did Jasper suddenly bring up Ryan's girlfriend?

Jasper, sitting in the back seat, stared out the window. "Don't you think you've overstepped with Adeline?"

Ryan paused. Had he?

Seeing Ryan's confused look, Jasper continued, "Your unnecessary concern and the way you leaned in to talk to Adeline outside the police station."

Ryan was taken aback. Had he made Jasper jealous?

Clearing his throat, Ryan replied, "I understand. I'll be more careful in the future."

Jasper nodded and looked at the apartment building.

Adeline's room was already lit up. "Let's go."

As Adeline stepped out of the elevator and reached for her keys to open the door, she noticed a light seeping through the cracks.

She furrowed her brows.

Was someone in her apartment?

Was it Violet?

When she first moved in, she gave Violet a spare key. With the video spreading online, Violet must have seen it, too.

Was Violet here to comfort her?

Thinking this, Adeline smiled wryly, her heartwarming slightly, and she opened the door.

"Mama! Mama!" As the door opened, two small figures rushed towards her.

Lauren and Bennett each clung to one of Adeline's legs, lifting their adorable faces to look up at her.

Lauren blinked innocently, "Mama, you're back so late; I was almost asleep."

Bennett smiled at Adeline. "Mama, Violet, and I made delicious dishes and waited for you for so long!"

The sudden surprise left Adeline stunned for a moment.

Regaining her senses, she excitedly lifted Lauren and then held Bennett's hand. "How did you two get here?"

"How could we not come when something like this happened?" Violet and Ethan were busy in the kitchen, one cooking and the other setting the table. "Ethan saw the video this afternoon and sent it to me," Violet explained.

"I immediately knew someone was framing you. You're so talented; why would you need to plagiarize?"

After finishing the last dish, Violet turned off the stove, stood in the kitchen doorway, untied her apron, and gave Adeline a knowing look, "Is it Stella again this time?"

Adeline furrowed her brows and glanced silently at Ethan, who was still busy.

Violet understood her concern and walked over, taking Adeline's hand and leading her into the bedroom. Before entering, she instructed, "Ethan, take the kids to eat first. Adeline and I need to have a private chat."

As the door closed, Adeline sighed and collapsed wearily on the bed, "This time, it's my father."

Violet's eyes widened, "Your father?"

Adeline looked at the ceiling with a bitter smile, "After all these years, my parents finally realized they had treated me poorly in the past and wanted to make it up to me."

"But now, in their eyes, Stella is their daughter."

Shocked, Violet could barely find words to respond, "So, they're helping Stella go against you?"

Adeline closed her eyes and nodded helplessly.

Violet was at a loss for words.

After a long silence, Adeline opened her eyes and asked, "How did you bring Lauren and Bennett here?"

If Adeline remembered correctly, once Lauren and Bennett returned to Blue Bay, Nathan's people closely guarded them, and she couldn't even see them on a regular basis.

Violet pursed her lips, "It was Jasper."

"He contacted me himself, saying that you must be feeling bad about what happened."

"He asked me to bring them over to give you a surprise and cheer you up."

Finishing her explanation, Violet suddenly remembered something, "Jasper said he went to pick you up, so why didn't he come back with you?"

Adeline paused for a moment, recalling Jasper's offer to come upstairs, presumably because Violet and the children were upstairs.

She had thought that in a situation like this, he still wanted to...
