Chapter 382 Should We Kick Her Out?
Listening to Luna's sweet and coquettish voice in the office, Adeline frowned deeply.
In her mind, she recalled the scene in Jasper's office where Jasper spoke to her softly. "After you finish your drink, you can head back. It's your first day at work, so take some time to get familiar with the environment and your colleagues."
Adeline squinted slightly. Today was Luna's first day at work, and she arrived directly at the jewelry design department, which Adeline would be supervising.
Was Jasper doing this on purpose?
"Ms. Jones, what are you talking about? We still need to rely on you to take care of us. Moreover, Adeline is very nice. With you being so gentle and cute, she will definitely like you!"
As Lucia spoke, she gently patted Luna on the shoulder. "I heard you came to work this morning in Mr. Foster's car?"
Her words made Luna lower her head silently, her voice soft and tender. "Where did you hear that from? I tried my best to avoid suspicion this morning and didn't get out of the car with Jasper."
"Of course, I saw it myself!" Lucia said as she glanced at the time, "Adeline said she was coming to work today, but it's already this late. Why isn't she here yet?"
Hearing her mention Adeline, Luna quickly spoke up, "I just saw Miss Wilson in Jasper's office."
She sighed. "But she seemed a bit unhappy."
She continued, "I don't like breakfast, but Jasper insisted me to eat. When Miss Wilson came in this morning, Jasper was forcing me to drink milk."
"Maybe Miss Wilson doesn't like drinking milk either and felt the same way I did. She seemed a bit upset and angry."
Luna's words caused a stir in the office.
Everyone in Foster Group's design department knew about the situation between Adeline and Mr. Foster.
Adeline had liked Mr. Foster for so long. Although he showed ambiguous feelings to her, it was just that—ambiguity. He never truly had a place for Adeline in his heart.
Otherwise, why didn't he get together with her after Stella's death, and instead brought in Luna?
Everyone couldn't help but pity Adeline.
Previously, Jasper had Stella by his side. Now that Stella had been gone for over a month, Luna had come along.
Adeline must be feeling terrible, right?
If they were her, they would probably be crying by now!
Everyone lowered their voices and started discussing.
Lucia couldn't stand it anymore and frowned. "What nonsense are you all talking about? Miss Wilson has her own children and her own life. Get back to work if you have nothing to do!"
Her words almost confirmed that what everyone was saying was mostly true.
Luna pretended to be dumbfounded and covered her mouth. "So Miss Wilson likes Jasper?"
After saying that, she bit her lip in frustration. "Then she must hate me."
She sniffled. "Maybe I should just leave."
"I really didn't know Ms. Wilson, liked Jasper. Otherwise, I wouldn't have come here. I came here simply because I thought being a jewelry designer was cool."
Adeline asked, "Is that so?"
As soon as Luna finished speaking, Adeline spoke up.
She walked in coldly, holding some files. "From what Ms. Jones said, you think being a jewelry designer is cool, but you also think I'm a petty person who would target you because you're with Jasper?"
Her appearance instantly silenced the entire office. Everyone's eyes cautiously locked onto her and Luna's faces.
Luna obviously didn't expect Adeline to come out at this moment.
She widened her eyes, but the surprise in them only lasted for a moment.
The next second, she was already tearing up. "That's not what I meant!"
She bit her pale lips, her voice tinged with a sob. "I really think that if Ms. Wilson likes Jasper, she would definitely hate me."
"I don't like Jasper, nor do I have time to hate you." Adeline coldly bypassed Luna and walked to her office door.
With her hand on the doorknob, she paused. Taking a deep breath, she turned her gaze to the others in the office. "This is a company. I hope everyone here focuses on their work rather than gossiping about who likes or hates whom."
Finally, she glanced at Luna. "I don't care who you are. Since you're here to work in the design department, remember that you're just an employee here. I don't keep idlers."
"In the future, whether it's me or someone else criticizing you, it will only be because you didn't do your job well."
With that, she went straight into her office.
Luna stood there, flushed.
Lucia sighed, raised her hand, and gently patted Luna on the shoulder. "Adeline is just like that when she works. You'll get used to it."
Luna bit her lip, her shoulders trembling slightly, but she said nothing more.
Timothy, standing nearby, glanced at Luna with pursed lips. Then, he turned to knock on Adeline's office door, holding some files.
Inside the office, Adeline was using a tissue to wipe the dust off her desk.
She hadn't been back for over a month, and her office still had traces of the celebration after she successfully completed a project for Jasper.
At that time, she had finished her work perfectly and was sitting here on the phone with Sebastian, discussing plans to visit the overseas genius training camp to find Bennett and Lauren.
But now, in less than two months, everything had changed.
"I thought you wouldn't return," Robinson said.
As she was tidying up, she heard Robinson's cheerful voice at the doorway.
Without looking up, she knew who it was. "I didn't expect you to still be working here."
She tossed the tissue into the trash can, picked up another one, and continued wiping as she smiled faintly. "You've been back in the country for so long. Don't your family look for you?"
"Are the Robinsons abroad so idle?"
Timothy was slightly taken aback, looking a bit uncomfortable. "I don't understand what you're talking about."
She kept her head down, continuing to wipe the dust seriously as she smiled. "Timothy. From the moment you applied here, I knew that was a fake name. Your real name is Brian."
"The Brian who grew up abroad, bought my design drafts at a high price, and pretended to be a genius designer."
Timothy paused, then laughed. "I didn't expect you to know everything. Why didn't you expose me earlier?"
She shrugged, discarded another tissue, and settled back iinto her chair comfortably. "Because I could tell you had no ill intentions. Moreover, you do have talent in design."
Timothy was silent for a moment, then laughed. "You really are broad-minded, different from others."
He couldn't help but think of the things Luna had said outside and sneered. "Some people still think you'd be jealous of her for taking Jasper."
Adeline squinted and solemnly corrected him, "Jasper has always been just my boss, and he has nothing to do with me."
Seeing her denial, he shrugged and sat down in a chair, looking seriously at her."But seriously, do you dislike her? Do you want me to team up with Robert and Anne to get rid of her?"
