Chapter 773 Is Mrs. Phoebe... Okay?

Howard's words silenced the hallway instantly.

Adeline's hands clenched into fists at her sides.

She looked up at Oliver, standing in front of her, wanting to say something but unable to find the words.

If Jasper had really hurt her mother this badly... she couldn't bear to think about it, couldn't face it.

Just then, the doctor wheeled Zara out of the emergency room.

Adeline rushed over.

The woman who had told her that morning to leave the Phoebe family and be with Jasper was now lying quietly on the hospital bed.

She looked like she was just sleeping.

There was even a faint smile on her lips.

Seeing Zara like this, Adeline felt as if a knife was twisting in her heart.

Adeline bit down hard on her lip, holding Zara's hand as she followed the doctor, pushing Zara back to her room.

From the emergency room to the hospital room, Adeline never took her eyes off Zara's face, not for a second.

"Mom."

Sitting by the bed, Adeline held Zara's hand, tears streaming down her face.

If it weren't for her, would Zara be like this... Daisy was right.

Dad was right.

It was all her fault, all her fault!

She had thought that by returning to the Phoebe family because of her mother's illness, she could help her mother recover faster.

But she never imagined she would bring such disaster to her mother.

Jasper.

Adeline bit her lip hard, silently repeating his name in her mind.

How arrogant must he be to so brazenly harm her mother?

Did he think her love for him was so insignificant?

So insignificant that even after he killed her mother, she would still be with him?

Thinking of this, Adeline's tears flowed even more fiercely.

Was it her years of indulgence and infatuation with Jasper that made him disregard her and her family so much?

Behind her, Oliver watched Adeline crying over Zara, and sighed deeply.

He stepped forward, gently patted Adeline's shoulder, and then turned to leave.

"Where is Oliver going?"

As Oliver opened the door to the hospital room, Daisy's cold voice came from outside, "Are you planning to go to the police station to see your murderer cousin?"

Oliver's eyes narrowed slightly.

He looked Daisy up and down, sensing no grief for her mother.

In fact, she seemed somewhat pleased.

Oliver sneered, "Who the murderer is, remains to be seen."

He stepped closer to Daisy, his dangerous and powerful aura making her instinctively step back.

Oliver cornered Daisy, his lips curling with a cold smile.

"You wouldn't be unaware, would you?"

"Jasper didn't go to the police station to turn himself in, but to report a crime."

"He reported that you murdered your mother."

Daisy's face turned pale instantly.

She turned her face away in panic, not daring to meet Oliver's eyes.

"He's lying!"

"He has no evidence!"

Her reaction made Oliver's eyes darken further.

"How do you know Jasper has no evidence?"

"What if Jasper does have evidence?"

Oliver lowered his voice, "Daisy, even if she wasn't your biological mother, she raised you for over twenty years and treated you well."

"Don't let me find out that you killed her and framed Jasper."

"Otherwise, I might just skin you alive."

Oliver's voice and gaze were as if he wanted to tear Daisy apart!

Even without looking into his deep eyes, Daisy could feel the hatred and coldness in Oliver's eyes.

She started to tremble, "You're talking nonsense!"

"How could I... Jasper killed Mom; isn't the evidence conclusive? Don't try to clear your cousin Jasper's name by slandering me!"

Oliver sneered, "You better hope you're right."

"Otherwise, you won't be able to handle the consequences."

With that, he let go of Daisy and turned to leave.

Daisy leaned against the wall, her eyes fixed on Oliver's back.

It wasn't until he entered the elevator that she let out a long breath, sliding weakly to the floor.

Daisy's heart was pounding.

Although she had often plotted with Molly to harm others, she had never personally arranged or carried out the acts.

This time, because Brandon was unable to move after being shot in the legs, she had to do it herself.

Thinking of the moment she stabbed the knife into Zara's chest, and Zara's shocked and desperate eyes, her palms were sweaty!

Oliver's demeanor just now almost made her believe that he had all the evidence.

Daisy narrowed her eyes, no.

Relying solely on Howard, who treated her like a daughter, was not enough.

She needed a new backer.

Someone who could completely protect her!

Leaving the hospital, Oliver headed straight to the police station.

He didn't really believe Jasper could have killed Zara.

Not because of their blood relation, but because he didn't think someone as shrewd in business as Jasper would do something so foolish.

If he wanted to kill Zara, he could have done it in a more discreet way. Why do it so openly when meeting her?

Not to mention, he had entered the crime scene a second time and came out covered in blood, looking for a doctor and then going to the police station to report the crime.

None of this fit Jasper's profile as a business genius.

At the police station, Oliver sat in the visiting room, waiting for Jasper to come out, feeling a bit anxious.

Howard's words at the hospital, telling Brandon to use his connections to get rid of Jasper, still echoed in his ears.

This was Oceancrest City, the territory of the Phoebe and Torres families.

Even if Jasper was powerful in Radiance Springs, he couldn't compete with the local forces in Oceancrest City.

The door to the visiting room opened.

Compared to his appearance on the surveillance footage, Jasper was now dressed in clean, neat clothes.

As soon as he saw Oliver, a faint smile appeared on his lips.

Jasper, wearing handcuffs and shackles, walked over with the grace of a king.

He sat down across the table, and the guard politely gave him a few instructions before leaving.

Oliver raised an eyebrow in surprise, "No one's giving you a hard time here?"

"No."

Jasper adjusted himself comfortably in the chair, "Have you heard of David?"

Oliver frowned and nodded.

He couldn't not have heard of David Stonehaven from Neon City.

In less than a month, David had subdued all the notable gangs in Oceancrest City.

Even Albert, who had some connections with Oliver, had been beaten so badly that he fled the city overnight.

Now, David was firmly in control of the gangs in Oceancrest City.

Jasper smiled, "He's a friend of mine. I asked him to come to Oceancrest City to help me."

Seeing Oliver's shocked expression, Jasper's smile widened, "Brandon's arrangements here can't do much to me."

Then, Jasper's smile faded, and he looked deeply at Oliver.
