Chapter 698 Hurry and Chase

When Adeline arrived at the Celestial Garden Restaurant, Jasper was already in a private room, deep in business discussions.

Adeline peeked through the door. The man she had longed for was sitting inside. Every word he spoke made the other person nervous.

Even through the door, she could feel Jasper's overwhelming presence.

This was Jasper's unique aura, the one that fascinated her.

"Adeline?"

Suddenly, a soft voice came from behind her.

Adeline frowned and turned around.

Standing behind her in a server's uniform was Dione Saunders, a parent she had met when Blake was sick, whose child also had leukemia.

Seeing Adeline, Dione excitedly pulled her into a corner.

"It really is you. I thought you left Oceancrest City for Blake. Why are you back? How is Blake doing?"

Due to still thinking about Jasper, Adeline briefly explained that Blake had recovered.

Dione, holding Adeline's hand, was full of emotion. "Congratulations to Blake on successfully undergoing a transplant after such a difficult search for a bone marrow match! I believe my child can get better too."

Then, noticing Adeline's distracted gaze towards the private room, she lowered her voice and asked, "Are you interested in someone in there?"

Adeline snapped back to reality and quickly nodded.

She wanted to catch Jasper here, partly to calm him down about not targeting the Torres family, and partly to express her excitement and gratitude for him coming all the way to Oceancrest City to find her.

"Are you like the other girls, trying to sneak a peek at the powerful Mr. Foster?"

Dione leaned closer to Adeline's ear. "I'm a manager here. I can get you a uniform to blend in. But to avoid suspicion from my boss, you might have to wear a mask and a cap to cover your face. My boss values this Mr. Foster too much and doesn't want any mistakes."

Adeline hesitated, then grabbed Dione's hand excitedly. "Thank you, I'll be careful."

Dione smiled. "No need to thank me. You've helped me a lot before. It's only right I do something for you."

With that, Dione led Adeline to the changing room.

She claimed Adeline was a new employee who had to wear a mask and cap due to a rash.

Dione's high status in the restaurant meant no one questioned Adeline's identity.

So, Adeline smoothly followed a group of female servers into the private room.

After setting the table, Adeline stayed to serve with Dione.

Her position was just to Jasper's side, so if he turned his head slightly, he would see her.

But Jasper remained focused on his meal and his business discussion with Allan Jennings, never glancing at any of the female servers, including Adeline.

Adeline was torn between being angry at Jasper for his inflexibility and feeling grateful that he remained loyal and didn't look at other women in her absence.

After a few rounds of drinks, Allan finally spoke up.

"Mr. Foster, I'm a bit confused. In your interview today, you said you came to Oceancrest City for a woman. But since arriving yesterday, you've been acquiring small businesses nonstop, and now we're discussing another deal. Are you really here for the woman, or to take on the Phoebe family?"

Allan's question made Adeline, standing in the distance, tense up.

This was her question too.

Since David's message had reached him, he should know she was in Oceancrest City.

But in the day since he arrived, he had been busy targeting the Phoebe Group.

He hadn't attacked the Torres family, but he also hadn't contacted her.

She didn't want to overthink, but reality forced her to wonder if revenge was more important to Jasper than finding her.

"Mr. Jennings, what do you think?" Jasper smiled, his voice cool and detached. "Is there a difference between coming to Oceancrest City for a woman and targeting the Phoebe family? What makes you think these are two separate things?"

Allan paused, then lowered his voice.

"So, the important woman you mentioned is related to the Phoebe family?"

Jasper didn't answer. He elegantly poured himself a drink and downed it in one go.

"The Phoebe family has done enough wrong. It's time they paid the price."

With that, Jasper slapped a document on the table. "Mr. Jennings, I've given you a good price, and I'll offer you discounts on future collaborations with Radiance Springs. If you still want to work with the Phoebe family, then be prepared to go bankrupt with them."

Allan quickly grabbed the document, wiping his sweat as he signed.

"Mr. Foster, it's not a big deal. I just wonder why you're going to such lengths to deal with the Phoebe family."

"Old grudges." Jasper gracefully took the signed contract and stood up. "And I have been utterly infuriated by the despicable actions of the Phoebe family recently."

Allan asked, "What about your plans going forward?"

"In the coming days, I will continue to target the Phoebe family relentlessly." Jasper replied indifferently.

Allan shrank back. "Then do you plan to interact or compete with the Torres family?"

Jasper chuckled. "As long as the Torres family doesn't interfere with the Phoebe family, I won't initiate any contact with them."

With that, Jasper walked out.

Adeline stood there, watching his departing figure, her heart sinking.

His words echoed in her ears.

"As long as the Torres family doesn't interfere with the Phoebe family, I won't initiate any contact with them."

Adeline was puzzled by what Jasper said.

Did it mean that even though he knew she was with the Torres family, he wouldn't contact her?

Was revenge against the Phoebe family so important to him?

Seeing Jasper leave, Dione nudged her. "Adeline, go after him. Isn't he the reason you're here? Hurry up!"
