Chapter 20 No More Visits to Blue Bay
A loud brake sound rang out.
The black Maserati sped directly into the amusement park from a special lane.
The car door was violently opened. A tall man quickly got out of the car.
"Jasper—!"
As Jasper got out of the car, Molly ran over crying and threw herself into his arms. "What should we do, Lauren is still up there!"
"It's all my fault, I shouldn't have let that maid take Lauren up!"
"I told them that the Ferris wheel is dangerous, but the maid didn't listen at all. She insisted on going up with Lauren to please her."
Jasper was in turmoil, he couldn't even tell if Molly's words were true or not. "How long have they been up there?"
"Fifteen minutes."
Molly wiped her tears, crying breathlessly, "If something happens to Lauren today, I won't live either!"
"If the person accompanying Lauren was me, I wouldn't feel so distressed and guilty..."
"Enough."
Jasper frowned, feeling annoyed by Molly's crying. "Is the park staff fixing it?"
"They've been fixing it all along, not sure what went wrong..."
Molly pointed to the maintenance personnel below the Ferris wheel, "How could this happen..."
Jasper looked up, the Ferris wheel cabin without a door was still tilting in mid-air.
Jasper's brows furrowed tightly.
At such a sharp angle, the people inside probably couldn't hold on for long.
Thinking that Lauren was still in that cabin, Jasper's heart sank heavily.
Although Jasper had only recently reunited with Lauren, he knew how delicate she was, how could she withstand such turmoil!
Worry and anxiety surfaced in Jasper's eyes.
"Ryan."
Jasper took off his jacket and threw it on the ground. "I'll go up first, you go to the control room to check the situation."
Beside him, Molly stared in shock. "Jasper, you... you're going up?"
Molly had been waiting for so long and hadn't seen the two of them fall down yet, and now Jasper was going up himself?
No, absolutely not!
Molly quickly rushed up, grabbing Jasper's arm, "Jasper, it's too dangerous."
"Let the professionals handle professional matters, let's not take risks."
Jasper turned his head, his gaze coldly scanning Molly's face, "I already lost Adeline once."
During Adeline's accident years ago, Jasper wasn't there, he missed Adeline's final moments.
Now God had given Adeline a second chance, bringing Lauren in front of him, how could he do nothing?
With that in mind, he shook off Molly, striding towards the Ferris wheel.
"Jasper!"
Molly stood in place, watching the man walk away, stomping her foot fiercely.
When Jasper reached the bottom of the Ferris wheel, after explaining his intentions to the staff, he directly fastened his seatbelt and began to climb towards the topmost cabin.
Watching from afar, Molly stared at his back, biting her lip tightly.
"Ms. Collins."
The nearby bodyguard finally realized the seriousness of the situation, "Should we... give up?"
Molly turned coldly to glare at him. "Do you think there's still time to give up now?"
Her plan was flawless.
Molly just hadn't expected that Adeline and Lauren would hold on up there for so long!
The door of the Ferris wheel cabin was gone, the cabin was tilted, a normal person standing at such an angle wouldn't last ten minutes!
Why could they hold on for so long?
"We can't let them down..."
Molly's hands clenched into fists at her sides. "We can't let them down!"
In front of Jasper, Molly had shifted all the blame onto Adeline, she wouldn't allow them to come down like this!
Even if Jasper climbed up to rescue them personally, she couldn't bear to let them down because she felt sorry for Jasper!
"Tell them."
Molly took a deep breath. "When they fall, that's when it's fixed."
Perhaps, the next second, they wouldn't be able to hold on anymore!
"Cracked it?"
In the control room, Bennett sat in front of the computer, watching the rapidly moving code symbols on the screen, asking with concern.
Although Bennett could decipher some simple firewalls, when it came to something highly professional, he still relied on Blake.
"Almost."
Blake's voice on the phone was calm and composed, "The system has been cracked, but I haven't dealt with amusement ride controls before, I'm looking for a solution."
In a hospital room across the ocean, the little guy sitting on the bed urgently checked tutorials, casting a glance at the situation between Adeline and Lauren.
Vaguely, Blake saw someone climbing on the structure of the Ferris wheel in an extremely dangerous situation.
Jasper, tall and agile, dressed in black trousers and a white shirt, didn't look like a professional, but he climbed quickly and was already close to the cabin where Lauren and Adeline were.
"Bennett."
The little guy frowned. "Who is that man?"
Bennett glanced at the monitor screen, snorted coldly, "He's our deadbeat father."
Blake pursed his lips, was this person... his dad?
"Bennett, forget about him, hurry up, are you okay?"
Afraid that Blake would be distracted, Bennett quickly reminded him.
"I'm good."
Blake refocused, manipulating the controls of the Ferris wheel facilities, slowly adjusting the tilted angle of the cabin to level.
Inside the cabin, Adeline, who had been highly tense, breathed a sigh of relief.
"Lauren, look! We're not going to fall anymore."
She hugged Lauren excitedly.
But the little girl she held in her arms showed no reaction at all.
A bad premonition surged in Adeline's heart...
