Chapter 193 Give Me Back the Necklace
Adeline was momentarily stunned.
She never expected Jasper to notice her necklace so directly!
During this time, she had been cautious and had never spoken to the necklace in any context related to Jasper!
Last night, she simply turned on the switch of the necklace to let Blake hear the sounds of the party clearly!
With just this simple action, Jasper could actually start to suspect her necklace with such meticulous thinking!
Seeing her shocked expression, Jasper narrowed his eyes, obviously guessing right.
Last night, he had been observing Adeline's actions.
Since she started confronting the Evelyn's Family, she hadn't touched her phone.
So, what was she using to communicate with the other party?
Because Jasper was puzzled by this, he even retrieved the surveillance video from the party last night.
The footage showed that besides touching the necklace on her neck, Adeline had not made any other moves.
That was why he started to suspect her necklace.
Before she could react, the man reached out toward her, wanting to grab the necklace around her neck.
Adeline instantly became alert.
Almost instinctively, she tightly held the necklace to her chest with both hands. "Don't touch it!"
The next moment, she jumped up from the sofa, backing away while covering the position on her chest. "This is a parent-child necklace I share with Bennett Lauren, and I don't want you to see it!"
Jasper stood up from the sofa and elegantly walked towards her.
As he got closer, his gaze and smile became more dangerous. "If it's just a parent-child necklace, why can't I see it? I won't take it away, just want to take a look."
Adeline stepped back in a panic.
She was afraid Jasper would discover the secret in her necklace, afraid he would find out about Blake's existence.
Finally, her back pressed against the cold door panel.
Jasper extended his arm, trapping her between him and the door panel.
He looked at her, his eyes deep. "What are you afraid of?"
The man's breath invaded her nostrils and mouth, Adeline bit her lip, taking a cold breath. "I'm not afraid... I just..."
She bit her lip, raised her head to meet his gaze. "I just don't want someone like you to touch my things!"
Jasper narrowed his eyes. "Someone like me?"
Jasper lifted her chin, forcing her to meet his gaze. "In your mind, what kind of person am I?"
Adeline took a deep breath, wanting to say something, but in the end, she couldn't bring herself to say the cruel words.
She turned her face away. "You know it yourself."
His indifference, hypocrisy, did she really need to list them out for him!?
The man leaned close to her ear, his voice cold. "Do you think I went back on my word, saying I would divorce Stella and then getting back together with her?"
Adeline's breath slightly hitched.
"Isn't that what happened?"
"But Stella is my wife." He chuckled softly. "She left everything behind to be with me, worked as Ms. Foster for three years without complaint.
"She endured all the malice from the Foster family behind my back, desperately sought treatment everywhere, wanting to have a child for me. In the end, she got pregnant with my child, almost died in the process."
The man's words made Adeline's body stiffen.
He... knew everything about her sacrifices for him.
She raised her lips. "So, you decided to get back with Stella yesterday because of past feelings."
"More or less."
Jasper sighed heavily. "I owe her, and I can never repay that debt in this lifetime."
Adeline closed her eyes, a cold smile on her face.
If she didn't know how hypocritical he was, she might have been moved by what he said now.
But she knew him too well.
Without him, she wouldn't have been in the car accident years ago.
Without his efforts, how could Molly have had the chance to bear his child and be by his side for so long?
When he thought Stella was not good, he could publicly announce his intention to divorce her.
Why didn't he apologize to Adeline back then?
Now, he wanted to reconcile with Stella, so he brought up how difficult Adeline had it back then.
This man not only made Adeline feel hypocritical but also disgusted!
She even wanted to cut open his heart directly to see if it was truly black!
Why could a man be so hypocritical and indifferent?
Just as Adeline cursed Jasper in her heart, suddenly, her neck stung.
The next moment, in her bewildered gaze, the man looked at the necklace he had pulled over, a hint of satisfaction on his lips.
"Just as I expected."
On the necklace, there was a small chip and a small switch.
As he played with the item in his hand, a smile played on his lips as he looked at Adeline. "This is how you communicate with that person. This necklace is not only yours, but also Bennett and Lauren's. So, this necklace is a tool for the three of you to communicate with that person?"
Jasper narrowed his eyes slightly.
He was becoming more and more curious.
Who was behind this necklace?
Not only was he an excellent hacker, but he could also maintain good communication with Adeline, Bennett, and Lauren, keeping his identity secret from all three.
Was it Brandon?
No.
After all, Brandon was Jasper's competitor, and Joseph was well aware of Brandon's hacking skills.
"Give it back to me!"
Adeline rushed up as if she had gone mad, wanting to take the necklace back.
But how could the man easily let her take back what he had in his hands?
The man easily dodged. "If you don't want me to touch it, why not tell me who this person is?"
Adeline bit her lip tightly, then directly reached out to hug Jasper's waist, grabbing his arm to try to take back the necklace.
She was too anxious, too excited.
So, she completely failed to realize how ambiguous her posture was with him at the moment.
One hand was hooked around his waist, the other grabbed his arm, and she clung to him like an octopus.
In the struggle for the item, her hands and breath would unconsciously bump into the buckle of his belt.
After an unknown amount of time, Jasper's body stiffened.
He lowered his gaze, his eyes cold and serious.
Adeline bit her lip, reluctantly glanced at the necklace in his hand, and retracted the hand that was grabbing his arm.
But Jasper's brow furrowed even tighter. "I meant the other one."
Adeline was taken aback, subconsciously lowered her head to look, only to realize, unknowingly...
Her face instantly turned red.
She withdrew her hands, feeling embarrassed, angry, and anxious.
"Give me back the necklace..."
The man took a deep breath, squinting at the switch on the necklace. "If I press this switch now, will I finally know who that person is?"
