Chapter 380 Can You Really Divide Your Attention to Work?
"Sooner or later." Adeline chuckled lightly, but the smile didn't reach her eyes. "If Mr. Foster can fall in love with Ms. Jones at first sight, how far off can a proposal be?"
Her words made Jasper's brow furrow almost imperceptibly.
Jason quickly stepped in to smooth things over. "Adeline, you really know how to talk."
After speaking, he glanced at Jasper, then at the folder Adeline was holding. "By the way, Adeline, are you here to report on work?"
She nodded. "Yes."
She glanced at Jasper coldly, her voice icy. "It seems I have come at an inopportune moment."
As she spoke, she glanced at the half-finished glass of milk on the coffee table. "Are Mr. Foster and Ms. Jones still having breakfast? I can come back later."
Jasper's expression turned slightly unpleasant. She frowned and gave him a cold look. She said, "No need."
After speaking, he looked down at Luna beside him, his voice gentle. "Go finish the rest of the milk."
Luna pouted. "I already said I don't like milk."
Despite her words, she obediently walked back into the office and finished the half glass of milk.
As she put down the glass, Luna smiled at Adeline somewhat smugly. "Miss Wilson, did Jasper always like to bully girls like this?"
Her question made Jason's hair stand on end.
He had seen people act coy, but never in such a public setting!
Compared to Jason, Adeline remained calm.
She thought, 'Luna's attitude clearly indicates she knows about her relationship with Jasper; otherwise, she won't speak this way.'
So, she smiled. "Not really. Mr. Foster only likes to bully well-behaved girls like you, Ms. Jones. Those who aren't sweet, gentle, or cute, no matter how long they stay by Mr. Foster's side, won't move him."
"Luna." Jasper frowned, coldly interrupting Adeline. "Since you've finished, you should go. It's your first day at work; get familiar with the environment and your colleagues."
Luna pursed her lips, reluctantly but gently nodding, then turned to leave.
As she reached the door, she seemed to remember something and turned back to give Jasper a gentle smile. "Don't have lunch with anyone else!"
Jasper's voice was indifferent. "Don't worry. I'll take good care of your diet."
She nodded, glancing at Adeline.
When she saw Adeline was expressionless, she turned her eyes. "Miss Wilson, would you like to join me for lunch? I just arrived in Radiance Springs and don't have many friends"
Adeline chuckled. "Sorry, I have many friends and already have plans."
After speaking, she turned her face away.
Seeing her stubborn back, Luna's eyes turned cold. However, she still smiled and said goodbye to Jasper and Jason before leaving.
After Luna left, Jason glanced at the somewhat enigmatic atmosphere between Jasper and Adeline, instinctively clenching his fist and bringing it to his lips. "I just remembered I have something to do. I'll be going now."
Without waiting for their reaction, he quickly left the room.
The office door closed. Only Adeline and Jasper remained in the room.
Jasper frowned slightly, then turned to sit in his chair, his gaze indifferent as he looked at the folder in Adeline's arms. "You've been on leave for so long, and now you're here to report on work?"
"Yes." Adeline snapped out of it, giving Jasper a mocking look. "I'm not like Mr. Foster, rich and leisurely, even with a beauty by your side."
"After all, I have two sick children at home, so I have to work twice as hard."
After speaking, she stepped forward and spread the folder on his desk with a cold voice. "This is the plan I worked on overnight. I want to make a deal with Mr. Foster."
Jasper raised an eyebrow, looking down at the documents while speaking indifferently, "You want me to prepay you six hundred thousand dollars in labor fees?"
She nodded. "I've calculated it. This is the minimum amount needed for Blake and Lauren's treatment. You should've heard that Blake has found a matching bone marrow."
When she mentioned the bone marrow, she carefully observed Jasper's expression. However, his face remained cold and indifferent.
It seemed that Blake being saved wasn't something worth celebrating for him.
Adeline felt like she had fallen into an ice cave. She had anticipated his ruthlessness, but seeing his reaction in person still felt ironic.
A few days ago, he had seemed so worried about Blake, even personally bringing him back from the Torres family abroad to Radiance Springs. She thought he was someone who indeed valued emotions and family, really caring for Blake.
She smiled mockingly. "I know Mr. Foster has no reason to keep providing medical expenses for Blake, so I plan to pay for it myself."
"I urgently need money. As Mr. Foster's employee, I hope Mr. Foster can prepay this salary. It's not too much to ask, is it?"
Taking a deep breath, she pointed to the back of the documents on the table. "But I also promise to provide Mr. Foster with equivalent services."
"I guarantee that I will create at least ten million dollars in value for Foster Group. If I can't, I'll stay until I meet the target."
After speaking, she looked seriously at Jasper. "Prepaying six hundred thousand dollars in salary for ten million dollars in benefits is a sure-win deal for Mr. Foster."
Jasper leaned back, his gaze indifferent as he looked at her and smiled. "You also said that Blake is about to have surgery. Are you sure you can focus on work during that time?"
"Of course not." She took a deep breath, walked over, and opened the documents. She pointed to the information inside. "I've done detailed planning and consulted with doctors."
She continued, "For Blake's surgery, I need to accompany him for a day during the preparatory phase. Afterwards, I only need to stay with him for three days to ensure there are no complications."
"The rest afterwards, I will be fully committed to work. Mr. Foster, you can rest assured about that."
Jasper squinted, his gaze cold as he scrutinized her. "Can you really focus on work?"
"Of course." She lifted her head and smiled. "Blake has been ill for quite some time now."
"In the past, I could still sleep with Mr. Foster while Blake was sick. It's just work; compared to dealing with you, it's much simpler."
