Chapter 791 I Will Do My Best!
"Dammit!" Randy pounded the steering wheel after hanging up the phone.
Who would've thought that in such a remote place, this late at night, someone would kidnap a kid?
Jasper had just gone back to Radiance Springs to celebrate his late grandmother's birthday and should've just landed.
The group that took the kid couldn't be Jasper's people.
But who were they? What did they want?
Randy couldn't figure it out, no matter how hard he tried.
But now wasn't the time to dwell on it!
Randy rubbed his head in frustration.
For the past six months, the Torres Family had been Jasper's target.
Randy's poor management had caused several major blunders for the Torres Group, nearly bankrupting them!
Now, Brandon had given him this task, and he messed it up again... How was he going to explain this at the hospital?
Daisy was already in the operating room, waiting!
Randy rubbed his head again, unable to think about anything else.
Brandon wanted Adeline and Jasper's child, but now that the child had been taken, he had to find another one!
Randy pulled out his phone and contacted someone he knew at the hospital. "Get me an abandoned newborn, one that nobody wants!"
He didn't have much hope, but the person said they had one.
With no other options, Randy drove over, wrapped the abandoned baby, and headed straight to the back entrance of Oceancrest City Central Hospital.
At the hospital's back entrance, Brandon, who could now stand on his own, was anxiously waiting.
When Randy arrived, Brandon snatched the baby from his arms.
"You're so slow!"
Without another word, Brandon rushed upstairs with the baby, not even glancing back at Randy.
Randy stood there, watching Brandon's retreating figure, frowning slightly.
Brandon took the baby up the stairs using the service elevator and entered the operating room.
Inside, Daisy was lying on the bed, playing with her phone.
Her stomach was flat, showing no signs of pregnancy.
When she saw Brandon bring in the baby, she glanced at the wrinkled little thing with disdain.
"Is this Adeline and Jasper's kid?"
"Boy or girl?"
Brandon looked down. "It's a girl."
Daisy's eyes flashed with contempt.
"She'll probably grow up to be as annoying as Adeline."
Brandon shot her a look and handed the baby to a nearby doctor.
"Do you really think we're going to raise her?"
"This kid is just leverage to use against Adeline and Jasper."
Daisy rolled her eyes, sprayed some water on her head to mimic sweat, and followed the doctor's instructions to prepare, then weakly lay back on the bed.
Outside in the hallway.
Howard and Fiona were anxiously waiting on a bench.
Howard was pacing nervously, clenching his hands. "How did she go into labor so early?"
"The baby is only eight months..."
Fiona glared at him. "It's your daughter's fault for not taking care of herself!"
She gave Howard a cold look. "Daisy is giving birth, and only you from the Phoebe Family are here?"
Howard sighed. "Mrs. Torres, you don't understand... My other daughter, Adeline, is also due today. Her brother went to be with her."
Fiona scoffed. "That illegitimate child? I doubt her baby will even be born..."
Howard's face darkened at Fiona's words.
He glared at her, about to say something, when a baby's cry came from the operating room.
A nurse hurriedly opened the door.
"It's a girl!"
Oceancrest City, airport.
Dennis stood at the gate, anxiously waiting.
After getting Oliver's call, he had been on high alert at the airport.
Ten minutes later, Oliver, surrounded by bodyguards, rushed to the gate and handed the baby to Dennis.
"Take her to Radiance Springs, to Mia."
"Make sure she takes good care of herself."
Dennis frowned, hesitating as he looked at Oliver.
"Should we tell her whose child this is?"
"Just say it's mine."
Oliver took a deep breath. "Mia and Adeline are too close. I'm afraid she won't keep it a secret."
Dennis nodded, placing the baby in a portable incubator and lowering his voice.
"Are you not going to tell Adeline and Jasper?"
Oliver narrowed his eyes. "No."
"If they reconcile in the future, I'll let the child reunite with them."
He sighed, "If not... this child will stay with me, as Joseph's sister."
"I don't want this child to become another me."
Dennis was silent for a moment, then nodded heavily.
He had grown up with Oliver and knew better than anyone what Oliver had endured over the years.
But...
He looked at Oliver. "Are you sure Mia will help you raise a child from another woman?"
"Not sure."
Oliver gave him a cold look. "If Mia refuses, you and Nova will take care of the child for me."
Dennis was silent.
"I'll do my best!"
Nova, standing nearby, couldn't help but laugh at Oliver's words.
She turned to look at the baby in the incubator.
The baby was just born, eyes still closed, wrinkled.
But Nova had a feeling this girl would grow up to be beautiful.
Nova smiled. "I'll help Dad take good care of her and make her as cute as me!"
Oliver sighed, ruffling Nova's hair. "What I just told your dad, don't tell anyone else, not even Joseph, okay?"
"Okay!" Nova nodded seriously.
"Don't worry, Nova can keep a secret."
Dennis sighed, patted Oliver's shoulder, and turned to leave with the baby, Nova, and the bodyguards.
Oliver stood there, watching them leave, and sighed deeply.
He had brought Nova and Joseph back from Radiance Springs with Daphne.
Originally, he just wanted to bring back his own son, but he couldn't resist taking the adorable little girl too, giving her to Dennis to raise.
He hoped this new baby could grow up carefree like Nova.
Oliver closed his eyes.
He didn't tell Adeline and Jasper about the baby's whereabouts because... he wanted to see what Daisy and Brandon were planning.
Meanwhile, in a small house on the outskirts of Oceancrest City, a woman's heart-wrenching cries could be heard.
