Chapter 358 You Never Cared About Me as Your Son

Nathan's comeback left him speechless.

Jasper shut his eyes, feeling let down.

"I'm your biological son."

Why did Nathan think his feelings didn't matter?

Evelyn was always the priority.

Nathan smirked. "I know you're my son, which is why I want you with Evelyn."

Nathan's eyes were icy as he looked at Jasper.

"I never really liked you."

"My relationship with your mom was great, but she died giving birth to you."

"After she died, I didn't want to see you. I left Radiance Springs and let your grandma raise you."

"But you're my son, and I want you to be happy."

"And only Evelyn can make you happy, but you keep defying me."

Nathan smirked coldly. "I thought you were just confused, helping Evelyn, but I'm starting to lose hope for you."

"You caused your mom's death and drove Evelyn to suicide."

Jasper sneered. "I wish she hadn't killed herself."

On the Neon City rooftop, he didn't know what Evelyn had done. He thought she killed herself out of shame after her identity was exposed.

By the time he found out what Evelyn did to Adeline, Bennett, and Lauren, she was already dead.

If Evelyn hadn't killed herself, he wouldn't have let her off so easily!

Nathan snorted and stood up. "Too bad, Evelyn was too strong-willed for you to torment her."

"If you're here to blame me, know this: I knew the truth all along."

"And I don't regret helping Evelyn."

Jasper's hand clenched into a fist on the stone table.

"Stella used your power to destroy Bennett, and you feel no remorse, do you?" Jasper asked.

"Of course not," Nathan said.

Nathan gave him a cold look. "I don't like you, and I dislike Bennett just as much."

Then he smirked. "But Lauren is quite likable."

As soon as Nathan finished speaking, he saw Lauren at the door, holding a teddy bear, looking stunned.

Nathan was taken aback and instinctively lowered his voice. "Lauren."

It seemed Lauren had been there for a while.

She had heard that Nathan didn't like Bennett at all.

Lauren, with tears in her eyes, holding the teddy bear, slowly walked up to Nathan.

She looked up at Nathan. "Why doesn't Grandpa like Bennett?"

Nathan paused and quickly squatted down to hug her. "Lauren misheard."

"Grandpa likes Lauren and Bennett; you misheard."

"But I'm not a child anymore," Lauren said.

Lauren sniffled and looked up at Nathan with her clear eyes. "Lauren heard everything Grandpa said."

"Lauren used to really like Grandpa."

"But if Grandpa was involved in Bennett's death..."

Lauren took a deep breath and suddenly grabbed Nathan's hand, biting down hard.

The intense pain made Nathan frown deeply. Almost instinctively, he reached out with his other hand to pull Lauren away.

But Lauren used all her strength to hold onto Nathan's arm and bite his hand.

Nathan winced in pain. Seeing he couldn't pull Lauren away, he got angry and lifted the arm she was holding, trying to shake her off.

But before he could lift his arm, Jasper pressed down on his shoulder.

"Father, why argue with a child?" Jasper said.

"When your people hurt Bennett, did they think about how Bennett felt being burned and bombed?"

"The bite Lauren gave you, no matter how painful, is just a fraction of the agony Bennett endured that day."

"So, you have to endure this bite."

Jasper's words seemed to fuel Lauren, who clung tighter to Nathan's arm, biting down hard, her forehead beaded with sweat.

Nathan was drenched in cold sweat from the pain.

He struggled desperately but couldn't break free from Jasper's grip.

Just as Nathan was about to pass out from the pain, the main house door opened again.

Lily stood at the door, looking exhausted, and spoke calmly, "That's enough."

"Even if you bite him to death, Bennett won't come back."

Hearing Lily's voice, Lauren paused and then silently released Nathan's hand from her mouth.

Lauren's mouth was stained with blood.

Nathan's hand was nearly bitten through.

He sat on the ground, gasping for breath, his forehead covered in cold sweat.

"Are you okay?" Jasper walked around Nathan to Lauren, picked her up, and grabbed some tissues from the table to wipe the blood from her mouth, speaking with concern.

Lauren pursed her lips and, unlike her usual self, didn't push him away. Instead, she lay silently in his arms, not saying a word.

Lily sighed, leaning on her cane as she slowly walked out. "I heard everything you just said."

She walked over, squatted down, and looked at Nathan's wound, saying coldly, "Your father passed away early, and I raised you alone."

"Later, you got married and had a child, but you blamed Jasper for your wife's death in childbirth and left the child for me to raise alone."

"Then, when Jasper's child came back, I thought I could finally enjoy my old age."

"But I didn't expect..."

Lily sighed. "I protected both you and Jasper well when you were young, afraid you'd get hurt or have any accidents."

"I never thought that when it came to Jasper's child, you could be so heartless."

"Since you don't care about Bennett, from today on, I no longer have a son like you."

She stood up coldly, turned to Jasper, and said, "Take Lauren inside; it's windy out here."

Jasper frowned and nodded.

As he reached the door, he paused slightly. "Nathan."

"Because you are Grandma's son and my father, all these years, while you traveled the world, all your expenses were covered by the Foster Group," Jasper said.

"Starting today, all your assets, including your car and bank accounts, will be frozen."

"Since you never considered me your son, don't expect to take a penny from me in the future."

With that, he carried Lauren and strode into the house.

Nathan sat on the ground, his eyes narrowed tightly.

Hospital.

Adeline originally planned to go directly to see Blake, but Linda stopped her.

She handed a mirror to Adeline. "Look at yourself. You'll just add to his worries."

Adeline stared blankly at her reflection in the mirror.

She looked haggard.

"You agree that you're not in a good state right now, right?" Linda asked.

Linda tossed a phone to Adeline. "I just asked the doctor over there. Blake is still resting. When he wakes up, he'll call you."

"For now, you can talk on the phone. When you're in better shape, you can see Blake."

Adeline was silent for a moment but eventually nodded obediently.

She took the phone and was about to put it down when she saw a news notification:

[The White family's missing daughter Mia will hold a grand wedding with her lover Thomas in three days.]

The news included a photo of Mia and Thomas's wedding picture.

Adeline let out a cold laugh.

Jasper still claimed Thomas had nothing to do with him? Without his help, how could Thomas dare to hold such a high-profile wedding after causing her child's death?
