Chapter 812 Do You Still Care About Adeline?

The doctor's words made Adeline think of Jasper right away.

She bit her lip, trying to convince herself it couldn't be him.

How could it be, Jasper? First off, she didn't believe he could be so heartless.

Second, Jasper had never even met Zara, so how could it be him?

"Adeline?" Oliver's voice suddenly snapped her back to reality.

She blinked, shaking off her thoughts. "What is it?"

Oliver sighed and glanced over at Zara, who was being treated by the doctor.

"Who all has been around Mom today?"

He had been at Radiance Springs for the past few days.

Mia had no experience taking care of kids and had caused Adeline and Jasper's child to catch a cold, which the doctor said could turn into pneumonia.

Mia had called Oliver in tears in the middle of the night to confess.

So Oliver had to take a private jet to Radiance Springs to find Mia.

After the child's condition finally stabilized, Oliver felt relieved enough to fly back.

But as soon as he got off the plane, he received a call from Linda saying Zara was in trouble.

Adeline bit her lip and was silent for a moment before murmuring, "This morning, Daisy came over with her kid, saying she wanted Mom to see Patty."

"After that... Linda and I went to the chapel to pray for Mom."

She glanced at the few servants still kneeling on the floor.

"While I was out, did anyone else come into contact with Mrs. Phoebe?"

The servants exchanged glances and shook their heads.

Oliver clenched his fists at his sides.

"Daisy is getting more and more out of line!"

He angrily picked up the phone and dialed Daisy's number.

"Get over to Adeline's place right now!"

Daisy seemed to be sleeping and answered with a lazy, nasal tone, "What's going on?"

"What do you think?"

Oliver snorted coldly. "This is your doing!"

"Get over here now, or I'll come to the Torres Mansion and drag you here myself!"

He hung up the phone without waiting for a response.

After calling Daisy, Oliver started dialing Howard's number.

Adeline hesitated for a moment before reaching out to stop him.

"Oliver, let it go."

Howard was already in bad shape today.

If he came here and saw Zara in this condition, Adeline feared he wouldn't be able to handle the shock.

Oliver frowned and looked at Adeline in confusion.

Adeline had no choice but to tell him everything that had happened at the hospital today.

Oliver snorted and put down his phone.

"Old fool, he believes whatever people tell him."

"Sooner or later, Daisy and Brandon will be the death of him!"

Adeline was silent for a moment before sighing. "Don't talk about death so lightly."

Right now, neither Zara nor Howard could handle any more stress.

Oliver frowned at her but ultimately kept his mouth shut.

At the Torres Mansion.

Daisy put down her phone with a cold expression and unhappily pushed open the door to the study.

Inside, Brandon was leaning back in his chair, frowning at some documents.

Jasper's power was something Brandon couldn't compete with.

If it weren't for the Phoebe family's help over the past six months, the Torres family would have been crushed by Jasper.

Even with the Phoebe family's help, it was hard to compete with Jasper.

Luckily, this was Oceancrest City, the territory of the Torres and Phoebe families.

If the Phoebe and Torres families were still in Radiance Springs, Jasper could have taken them down in less than a month.

Jasper was terrifying... without leverage, he was uncontrollable!

"Brandon."

Daisy pushed open the door, looking annoyed.

"Oliver just called, telling us to go to Adeline's place. Zara's in trouble."

She rolled her eyes. "What a hassle, it's already eleven o'clock!"

"What could happen to someone in a coma?"

Her words made Brandon's eyes narrow slightly.

"They found out so soon."

According to his plan, Adeline's people should have discovered Zara's sores by tomorrow morning.

By then, Zara's back would have been a mess.

"What did they find out?"

Daisy looked puzzled.

"Jasper visited the small courtyard today and saw Zara."

Brandon stood up, feeling pleased, and walked over to Daisy, pulling her into his arms and slipping his hand under her nightgown.

"I have a spy in Adeline's place, you know that."

Daisy blushed, her voice shy. "Of course I know."

"You had me send over an ointment this morning."

"Yes."

Brandon smiled and kissed her cheek. "That ointment has a special effect."

"I originally planned for my spy to find the right moment to finish Zara off."

"But as soon as the ointment arrived, Jasper visited Zara."

"So... I had my spy use it on Zara after Jasper left."

Daisy was stunned for a moment before understanding why Oliver had called her in the middle of the night.

"Because I visited Zara today, they suspect me?"

"Yes." Brandon smiled, lifting Daisy onto the desk and kissing her collarbone.

"But don't worry, I'll bring a more professional doctor with us."

"The doctor can determine when the ointment was used."

Daisy's breath became uneven, but she was excited.

They had been engaged for eight months, and this was the first time Brandon had been so proactive since that drugging incident.

Even so, a sliver of rationality remained in her mind. "Oliver is waiting..."

"No rush." Brandon chuckled, kissing her collarbone and neck, moving downward.

"But Daisy, I need you to play along with me."

Daisy's breathing grew heavier. "Play along, how?"

"Two acts."

"First, admit you lied about me disfiguring Adeline out of jealousy."

The words hit Daisy like a bucket of cold water.

She froze, her eyes filled with resentment.

"You still care about Adeline?"

"I don't care about her, but she's still useful."

Brandon smiled, continuing to kiss her. "After all this, you still don't trust me?"

Daisy was drawn back into the whirlpool.

"And the second act?"

"Insist that Jasper is responsible for what happened to Zara."
