Chapter 202 Isn't It You Who Forced Me to Drink?

Stella's words fell, and Conor directly placed the glass of wine in front of Adeline. "Ms. Wilson, please."

Adeline frowned, glanced at the glass of wine, and showed no intention of moving.

"I'm just an employee of the Foster Group. Is it not appropriate for Conor to toast me?"

After saying that, she coldly glanced in Jasper's direction. "Besides, I'm not good with alcohol. If you get drunk and do something inappropriate, it wouldn't be good."

Seeing her look towards Jasper, Stella couldn't help but hold Jasper's arm tighter. "Ms. Wilson is no longer just a small employee. You are a person saved by the President of the Foster Group. Who can say you are insignificant? And besides..."

Stella glanced at the strong liquor in front of Adeline, with a smile on her lips, "It's just a glass of wine, not that easy to get drunk, right?"

Adeline smirked, coldly glanced at Jasper. "Mr. Foster, are you sure you want me to help you drink this glass of wine?"

Only then did Jasper smile, look at Conor, and say, "Let's forget about it."

He had seen Adeline's capacity for alcohol before.

Conor persisted, "Mr. Foster, are you showing concern for the female employee?"

"It's understandable, Mr. Foster was injured protecting Ms. Wilson, surely he's reluctant."

Conor then glanced ambiguously at Adeline. "It seems that Ms. Wilson is indeed talented, to earn such favor from Mr. Foster."

Conor's words became increasingly unpleasant.

Adeline frowned, feeling impatient. "I'm going to the restroom."

"Adeline."

Seeing her about to leave, Stella finally spoke up with a cold snort, "You keep saying there's nothing between you and Jasper, just a normal superior-subordinate relationship. But now that Conor has said so, you don't want to explain, nor do you want to drink this glass of wine."

With that, Stella began to sneer, "Do you really want others to misunderstand your relationship with Jasper?"

Stella's words made Jasper's eyes turn cold.

"Stella!"

He frowned at Adeline, then glanced at Stella. "There's no need to explain to irrelevant people."

Conor, on the side, was not pleased, "Mr. Foster, we are partners now. Am I irrelevant?"

Jasper coldly smirked. "Do you think that just because the Foster Group and your company are in talks, you can meddle in my personal life?"

Jasper stood up coldly. "This collaboration, we can do without."

With that, he grabbed Stella and prepared to leave.

Stella frowned, holding onto Jasper, and glared fiercely at Adeline. "Adeline, just for a glass of wine, Jasper is willing to cancel such a big collaboration with Conor. Are you okay with that?"

Adeline narrowed her eyes.

Though Conor was not a good person, his jewelry company was indeed outstanding.

The jewelry sector of the Foster Group was just starting out and could use Conor's support.

For Jasper...

For him, the jewelry subsidiary was just one of his many industries.

But for Adeline

"Let it go."

Adeline took a deep breath, looked at Jasper, and said, "Mr. Foster, there's no need to be angry. Conor is just being enthusiastic. It's just a glass of wine. I'll drink it."

With that, Adeline picked up the glass and downed the strong liquor in one go.

The determined look in her eyes as she drank made Jasper's heart ache.

He remembered Adeline from years ago...

When they had just gotten married, she used to cling to him.

Under her persuasion, he agreed to take her to banquets.

There was a foolish business partner at the time who insisted Adeline drink.

As her husband, he knew she couldn't handle alcohol.

So, Jasper angrily wanted to leave.

But Adeline, fearing she would ruin his business, stood up and downed the glass of wine.
The same look in her eyes now, the same determination.

Jasper frowned and instinctively glanced at Stella beside him.

He saw her looking smugly at Adeline drinking, a hint of disdain in her eyes.

Jasper's heart twinged.

When did...

His Adeline, who once drank all night for him, had turned into this.

Stella encouraged Adeline to drink, watched her drink, and took pleasure in it.

With a bang, Adeline finished the drink and slammed the empty glass on the table.

"Conor, is it enough now?"

Conor, looking at Adeline's flushed face after drinking, couldn't help but feel a surge of desire, so he chuckled. "You've finished this glass. But Ms. Wilson, you just made everyone unhappy, shouldn't you have another drink to show sincerity?"

Adeline smirked. "Conor, I told you my tolerance for alcohol is low. If I get drunk and do something inappropriate, will you take responsibility, Conor?"

Adeline's demeanor excited Conor.

He laughed. "Of course, of course!"

"If the beauty gets drunk for me, no matter what she does, I'll take responsibility!"

"Good then."

Adeline smirked, picked up the glass Conor offered her once again.

"Adeline."

Seeing her about to drink again, Jasper furrowed his brows and quietly reminded her, "You don't have to drink this glass."

If Adeline hadn't drunk the previous glass, he would have already left with Stella and Adeline.

The only reason he stayed to continue working with Conor was to make sure Adeline's drinking wasn't in vain.

But now, she wanted to drink again?

"It's fine, Conor said he'll take responsibility for whatever happens."

Adeline smirked and downed the glass once more.

Conor stroked his chin, leering at Adeline. "I'm curious to see what a beautiful woman looks like when she's drunk."

Adeline's head was getting fuzzy from the alcohol.

She stood up, swaying, and said, "This is what a beautiful woman looks like when she's drunk—"

With that, she strode over to Stella.

Smack!

She slapped Stella hard across the face.

The room fell silent.

Everyone present, except for Adeline, involuntarily held their breath.

Stella was stunned for a moment, then stood up instantly, eyebrows furrowed. "Adeline, have you lost your mind?"

As she spoke, she raised her hand, about to slap Adeline back.

But before the slap could land, Adeline caught her wrist.

Adeline looked at Stella with a light smile. "Ms. Foster, this is how it is when I'm drunk, isn't it you who forced me to drink?"

Conor stared in shock. "This..."

Adeline smirked, glanced back at him, her voice sweet and intoxicated. "Conor, you said it yourself, no matter what outrageous things I do, you'll take charge."
