Chapter 625 Moving into Blue Bay
Molly's words left Adeline frozen for a moment. Then, she shot a furious glare at Molly, her voice shaking with anger and tears. "You hit my kid! Molly, going after a little child like that, karma's gonna get you!"
Molly wiped her tears and fired back at Adeline, her voice full of anger. "Those words should be for you!"
She took a deep breath, still wiping her tears, and grabbed the microphone, her voice heavy with grief and anger. "A few days ago, I left my Liam with you all, perfectly fine, and now look at him!"
Molly bit her lip hard, tears streaming down her face. "Adeline, you accuse me of hitting your kid when it was you who hurt mine! Your kids are always protected at Blue Bay, how could I even get to them?"
She cried as she carefully showed photos one by one on the big screen. "Liam was with you for just a few days, and now he's like this! Adeline, you're a mom too; how could you do this to my child? Is it because he's mine and Jasper's? Even if Jasper cheated on you while you were still married and I had Liam. Why take it out on a six-year-old kid?"
Every word Molly said was dripping with pain and sorrow.
The reporters below the stage were buzzing. They thought today's news ended with Rex getting arrested and Nathan escaping! They didn't see this coming! A high-society scandal!
Adeline, out of jealousy, actually hurt an innocent six-year-old kid! While all the reporters were thrilled about this juicy story, one reporter frowned. "Adeline just called off her engagement with Rex. Did she hurt Molly's kid out of jealousy after getting engaged to Rex?"
As soon as he said that, everyone was stunned. It was clear Adeline was out to get both Jasper and Rex. After getting engaged to Rex, did she think he wasn't as good as Jasper, so she wanted to go back to Jasper?
The place was in chaos.
"In all my years in this business, I've never seen such a wild story!"
"Forget the business, I've lived over forty years and never seen such a shameless woman. Not only was she being unfaithful in her relationships, but she also hit a six-year-old child!"
"No wonder they say she's ruthless, didn't you see how she hit Molly on stage just now? She really wanted to hurt that kid!"
"Poor Molly couldn't even fight back; an adult got beaten like that, let alone a six-year-old kid. Too tragic!"
Adeline stood on stage, on the verge of breaking down. She couldn't stay calm seeing Bennett hurt like that! Her mind was filled with thoughts of Bennett, so small and fragile. How much pain and suffering did he go through being hurt like that?
Where was Bennett now? Did Molly even take him to the hospital?
She gritted her teeth, her tear-filled eyes glaring at Molly with rage. "What do you want?"
Molly held the microphone, looking at the reporters below, her voice tinged with grievance and sadness."I don't hate Adeline for hurting my kid like this, but I hate Jasper for not protecting him! There are only three things I want now."
Molly took a deep breath. "First, Jasper must get the best doctors to treat my son. Second, to keep my son safe, I want to live in Blue Bay like Adeline, so I can watch over him anytime."
She squinted, giving a cold look at the crumbling Adeline. "Third, Adeline must go to the police and confess to child abuse!"
Jasper held Adeline, his eyes coldly scanning Molly's face. "Are you sure?"
Jasper's deep, unreadable eyes made Molly's heart skip a beat. If she remembered right, this was the first time Jasper had looked at her directly since she came back. Even though Molly knew it was for Adeline, it was enough to drive her crazy and make her feel her return was worth it.
At least, Jasper was taking her seriously.
Molly bit her lip, trying to look elegant and composed. She said, "Of course."
Jasper smirked, "If Adeline confesses, she'll go to jail. But Liam will also be examined by the police. The injuries checked by professional doctors can pinpoint the exact time of the beating."
He added, "Are you sure? Bennett was fine when he left Blue Bay for the abandoned factory. Adeline didn't leave the rescue site yesterday, and there are too many witnesses to prove it. If the police get involved, the final medical results might surprise you."
Molly's expression faltered. She hadn't thought of that. Seeing her silence, Jasper took a deep breath, "I can agree to the first two conditions, but not the third."
He had thought about calling the police to arrest Molly, but he couldn't do it. First, Adeline's condition was very bad now. If she couldn't see Bennett being treated soon, she would definitely have another breakdown.
Second, he didn't know Bennett's current condition. Moreover, since Molly hurt Bennett like this and still wanted to call the police, it meant she had ways to keep Bennett from telling the police who really hurt him. If Bennett were forced to say Adeline hurt him, things would get very tricky. And Bennett would be suspected of slander once it was confirmed that Molly was the one who hurt him.
But if Molly wasn't identified, Adeline would go to jail. Jasper didn't want to lose either Bennett or Adeline. So he could only compromise and agree to Molly's first two demands.
Even just two demands made Molly excited.
She smiled, "Jasper, I knew you still cared about me and Liam!"
After speaking, she picked up the microphone on the stage and addressed the crowd. "Everyone, you all heard what Jasper just said, right? Today, I will move into Blue Bay with Liam!"
