Chapter 18 Lauren Has a Fever
Adeline frowned, "Why?"
"That woman has bad intentions!" Bennett's emotions were high, and his response was quick. "Mummy, I can't explain it to you right now, but she definitely wants to hurt Lauren. Don't go out with her tomorrow!"
The woman sighed, "Bennett, what you can think of, I can think of too. But you have to understand that I have little influence now, and I can't make decisions for Lauren."
Jasper had always been wary of her. If she stopped Lauren from "building a relationship" with Molly at this time, it would deepen Jasper's suspicions of her. In her current identity, there was little she could do for Lauren. That's why she got angry when Bennett brought Lauren to Jasper.
So she took a deep breath and promised, "Don't worry. I will do everything I can to protect Lauren."
After all, the amusement park was always crowded. With her and the bodyguards Jasper had sent, it would be difficult for Molly to do anything to Lauren in public.
"But..." Bennett was well aware of Adeline's current situation. He pressed his lips together with a weary voice. "I shouldn't have let Lauren meet Jasper..."
Before, he had only thought about making Lauren and Mummy join forces to help Mummy complete her plan as soon as possible. But he didn't expect Molly to be so crazy, wanting to harm a six-year-old girl.
"Let's not talk about this anymore."
Adeline sighed and said, "I couldn't take care of you during this time. You should get along well with Auntie. Do you understand?"
"Yes!" Bennett's voice sounded muffled. "Mummy, I'll hang up now."
"And one more thing," Adeline furrowed her brows. "Behave yourself and stop planning against Molly and Jasper. Do you hear me?"
"Oh."
...
The next morning, Molly arrived at Blue Bay early.
Following Jasper's orders, the bodyguards stopped her at the gate.
Standing in the yard outside the villa, Molly smiled and called out Lauren's name, "Lauren, come downstairs!"
"Auntie will take you out to play!"
"Lauren!"
In the children's room upstairs, Lauren sat in front of a small mirror, watching Adeline comb her hair, and pouted discontentedly, "I don't want this kind of auntie. I hate her! Really hate her!"
The little girl kept muttering nonstop.
"Why did Daddy make me go out to play with her? I already told Daddy that I don't like her, but Daddy still wants me to go out and play with her!"
Adeline's hands, while combing her hair, paused slightly.
"Molly is someone your father likes, and she will be your father's wife in the future. Do you remember me telling you that before? When someone likes something, it's not good to keep saying that you dislike it in front of them. People are the same."
Lauren pouted, her face full of grievances, "I was just speaking my mind in front of you."
"Don't say it in front of me either."
"Okay." The little girl pouted in grievance and didn't continue the conversation.
"Lauren, it's time to leave!"
The voice of the woman outside the villa continued.
Molly wasn't very patient. In just half an hour, she had called the maid in more than ten times and kept shouting.
Finally, Lauren was annoyed by the constant reminders and left the house with Adeline without even eating breakfast.
"Lauren!"
When Adeline and Lauren left the door, Molly was still standing in the yard looking towards the direction of the children's room upstairs.
"Lauren, let me take you to the amusement park to have fun. Hurry up! Your father doesn't have time, and your mother doesn't dare to come back. I have to take on the role of a parent and take you out to play!"
"Stop shouting!" Lauren stood at the entrance of the villa with a cold face. "It's really annoying."
A momentary indifference flashed in Molly's eyes.
After the indifference, she approached with affection in her eyes and directly hugged Lauren's small body, "I was afraid you wouldn't wake up!"
Saying that, she looked at Lauren's clothes and braids, and admired "You look really beautiful today!"
Her voice was gentle, her actions were gentle, and even her gaze was extremely gentle.
But this kind of gentleness made Lauren feel a little chilly. She subconsciously glanced at Adeline.
The woman smiled at her, indicating for her to stay calm.
"Let's get in the car."
Sensing the exchange between Lauren and Adeline, Molly placed Lauren in the back seat with displeasure.
Adeline was about to get in the car.
"Are you allowed to get in this car too?" Molly coldly snorted and raised her hand to stop Adeline from entering. "You're just a nanny, don't think too highly of yourself! Just ride in the same car as the bodyguards, don't disturb my relationship with Lauren!"
Adeline frowned and said, "Lauren hasn't had breakfast. I have bread in my bag to take care of her."
"I can do it too!" Molly snatched the bag from Adeline's hand, sat in the car, and closed the door.
"Go to the back car!" Adeline helplessly gave Lauren a deep look and turned around to get into the car behind.
The convoy started. Adeline sat among a group of security guards.
In the meantime, she put on headphones.
She had anticipated that Molly would cause such a fuss, so she had tampered with the necklace that Lauren was wearing.
Molly's sharp voice came through the other end of the headphones.
"Lauren, tell me, how is your mother doing?"
"Lauren, your intense animosity towards me must have been taught by your mother, right?"
"Why doesn't she dare to come back? Does she want to please your father by sending you back? Tell her to come back!"
"Only six years old, yet your mother is using you like this. How pitiful!"
Throughout the journey, no matter what Molly said, Lauren remained silent, showing no intention of communicating with her.
Soon, they arrived at the amusement park. The park was crowded with people on the weekend.
Looking at the crowded crowd, Adeline felt somewhat relieved. The more people, the safer it felt.
Molly had a fake smile on her face as she started buying tickets for Lauren and taking her to experience various entertainment activities.
Because of Adeline's previous instructions, Lauren refused any activities with a high level of danger, using fear as an excuse.
Although Molly was dissatisfied, she couldn't say anything.
But in the end, when they stood in front of the Ferris wheel, Lauren couldn't move.
The little girl looked up, her eyes full of longing as she gazed at the Ferris wheel. "Can... can I ride this?"
"Of course!" Joy flickered in Molly's eyes!
She quickly instructed the bodyguard beside her, "Go and buy tickets for Lauren, two of them!"
After the bodyguard bought the tickets, she looked at Adeline with a forced smile, "You've been worrying about this and that all morning, making it seem like I want to harm Lauren."
With that, the woman changed to a more comfortable position in her chair, "You take her on the Ferris wheel, I'll rest for a while, so you won't be suspicious."
Adeline frowned, instinctively feeling that Molly's reaction was somewhat strange.
But before she could figure out Molly's intentions, Lauren had already excitedly pulled her hand and rushed towards the Ferris wheel. "Auntie, I've been wanting to ride the Ferris wheel with you!"
She knew Mommy really liked the Ferris wheel, but she was too busy overseas and didn't even have time for leisure activities.
Now she finally had the chance!
The little girl excitedly held onto Adeline's hand and ran over, directly checking the tickets and getting on the ride.
Helpless, Adeline could only follow her on board.
The Ferris wheel began to turn.
Molly changed to a more comfortable position and leaned back in her chair, casting a cold glance at the people beside her, "Is everything arranged?"
"It's done."
The woman smiled smugly.
"You like the Ferris wheel, don't you?"
She was going to make sure they couldn't get off it for the rest of their lives!
