Chapter 315 Jasper sent you to help me?

Jasper's knuckles turned white as he gripped his phone, replaying the video. His blue eyes narrowed as he listened to Adeline's voice.

Not worthy? No one had ever dared to say that to him before.

The office felt heavy with his barely contained anger.

"Mr. Foster," Ryan started cautiously, "the employees who got splashed with hot water have filed a formal complaint."

"They want an apology and compensation from Adeline. If she refuses, they're threatening to call the police."

Jasper raised an eyebrow and handed the phone back to Ryan. "Let them call the police."

"She needs to learn a lesson." He'd been too lenient, letting her act out.

First, she hid info about Evelyn, then she caused trouble between him and Stella, and now she had the nerve to call him unworthy in front of others.

"But Mr. Foster," Ryan lowered his voice, "the evidence is clear. If the police get involved, Adeline could be detained for questioning."

"It could take more than a day."

"Don't forget, the jewelry project is already behind schedule because of Adeline's injury and the issues with the Carter family."

"If she's detained for several days, the project will be severely impacted."

Jasper raised an eyebrow and gave Ryan a faint glance. "Do you think I care?"

Sensing his boss's anger, Ryan lowered his voice even more. "I know you don't."

"But this project is a company priority."

"There are other ways to handle Adeline."

Ryan's hushed tone irritated Jasper.

He gave him a cold look. "You handle it."

Ryan finally relaxed and turned to leave.

Jasper sat back, rubbing his aching temples. "There's been too much gossip about employees' personal lives lately."

"Have the department heads deal with it. I don't want to hear about any more disputes caused by rumors."

Ryan straightened up. "Yes, sir."

Leaving the office, Ryan let out a long breath. Mr. Foster might seem determined to teach Adeline a lesson, but he was still looking out for her behind the scenes.

After all, Adeline was the hot topic in the company right now.

"Ms. Wilson, you're amazing!" Timothy exclaimed in the design department, holding up his phone and replaying the breakroom video for Adeline with an awestruck look.

"Aren't adults supposed to be above table-flipping arguments?"

"Turns out, adults just throw hot water directly!"

Adeline gave him a cold look, snatched the phone, turned it off, and locked it in a drawer. "Get back to work."

Timothy pouted. "Can't I even compliment you?"

Adeline gave him another cold look. "Utter a word, and you'll say goodbye to your phone forever"

Timothy had no choice but to return to his seat and work on his sketches.

"Adeline, come out here!"

"Adeline!"

Angry female voices erupted from outside the department.

Adeline rubbed her temples in frustration.

She knew this wouldn't blow over easily, just like the incident with Ava.

These people slandered her without restraint, then played the victim when confronted, which infuriated her.

The voices outside continued, throwing the entire design department into chaos. Adeline couldn't ignore it.

Taking a deep breath, she strode out and stood at the entrance with her arms crossed, facing the irate women. "Do you want me to recreate what happened in the breakroom?"

Emma, the leader, sneered. "We know you have powerful people backing you up, and we can't afford to cross you."

"But Adeline, you hurt us. Shouldn't you apologize and cover our medical bills?"

"We're showing mercy by not calling the police, as that would reflect poorly on the company."

"But this can't just be ignored."

Adeline crossed her arms. "Really?"

She smiled and pulled out a voice recorder. "Too bad for you, I recorded your slanderous chat."

"Go ahead, sue me."

"Then I can also address your defamation."

Emma's face went pale.

She frowned. "Okay, we shouldn't have gossiped about you."

"But it was just this once."

"Just once?"

Behind Adeline, Timothy, Robert, and Anne appeared, standing with her.

Each of them pulled out a voice recorder.

"Since the rumors started, Timothy suggested we record everything," Anne said, smiling at Emma. "You've badmouthed Adeline more than once."

"I have three recordings."

Timothy smirked. "I have two."

The usually quiet Robert fiddled with his recorder. "I have eight."

The women stood there, stunned, their faces turning pale.

Adeline had been the hot topic, and because she was so beautiful and accomplished, they gossiped about her whenever they could.

They never expected Adeline and her assistants to be recording everything!

Adeline turned and gave a surprised look at the three behind her.

"Adeline," Anne smiled, "you've always been good to us. We won't stand for them slandering you."

Adeline felt a surge of warmth.

She turned back to the women. "Between the four of us, we have fourteen recordings."

"That should prove this wasn't a one-time thing, right?"

The surrounding employees began to whisper.

"Talk about a taste of their own medicine."

"These women are so nosy. Why pry into someone else's life?"

"Adeline should have splashed them with hotter water. I would have!"

The women stood there, their faces turning ashen.

They had come to force an apology and compensation from Adeline, but they hadn't expected her to be so prepared!

When Ryan arrived at the design department, he saw the women who had come to cause trouble rendered speechless.

He frowned and walked over. "Why are you still here?"

"Do you want to lose your jobs, causing a scene during work hours?"

With Ryan's words, the women finally left in disgrace.

After the crowd dispersed, Ryan gave Adeline a thumbs up.

"I didn't expect you to have a backup plan."

"Mr. Foster was worried you couldn't handle it and sent me to help."

Adeline frowned. "Jasper sent you to help me?"

Ryan nodded.

She snorted. "Tell him if he doesn't want to be involved in my affairs, he should stay out of it completely."

First, he threatened her, saying he wouldn't help. Then he sent Ryan to her rescue. What was he playing at?

Ryan wiped the sweat from his forehead. "Adeline, did you have a fight with Mr. Foster?"

Adeline rolled her eyes. "Do I even have the right to fight with Mr. Foster?"

Back in the office, while Adeline was dealing with the disgruntled employees, Timothy secretly opened the drawer and retrieved his phone.

As soon as he turned it on, a message popped up: [Ava, the girl who jumped, is out of danger and will hold a press conference tomorrow to expose the true face of the glamorous designer.]
