Chapter 645 I'm Really Fine

The Foster family mansion was brightly lit at night.

Lily, weakened by illness, reclined on the sofa for support.

Blake quietly massaged her feet, while Lauren gently read the story of The Little Mermaid to her.

On the other side of the sofa, Brenda held a large stack of photos of girls, showing them to Rex one by one.

"Rex, these are all girls that your grandmother found for you, matched by their family background and status. Take a look and see if there's anyone you like."

Rex, his mind filled with the kiss marks on Molly from that morning, irritably pushed the photos aside.

"Forget it! Whoever wants to look can look!"

"How dare you!" Nathan slammed his water cup on the table, glaring coldly at Rex. "Your grandmother is very ill now and just wants to see you settle down while she's still alive. I'm waiting for you to get married too, hoping that your marriage will make your grandmother happy and help her recover sooner! You have to look, whether you want to or not!"

"

His stern demeanor made Brenda frown slightly. She raised her hand to stop him. "Don't talk to Rex like that; you'll scare him."

After scolding Nathan, she poured another cup of water and placed it in front of Lily, "Mom, your throat isn't well; drink more water."

Then she poured two more cups and placed them in front of Blake and Lauren.

"Lauren, you've been telling stories to Lily for a long time, so you must be thirsty; drink more water."

She turn to Blake, "Blake, you must be tired too. Don't be shy; I'll pour more for you if you finish."

Brenda's words made Blake frown slightly. He looked up and gave her a cold glance.

"The only person who can be considered our grandmother is my father's biological mother. We should call you Ms. Baker. I'm afraid if we really call you grandmother, it would be bad luck for you"

His words made Brenda's face turn pale instantly. A trace of malice flashed in her eyes.

She snorted, turned back to Rex and continuted to show him the photos.

Lily, supported by Blake, got up to drink water.

Lauren, who had been telling stories for a long time, couldn't take it anymore and directly picked up the water Brenda had given her, drinking it in large gulps.

"Lauren." Blake frowned and spoke in a low voice.

Lauren shrugged, "It's fine."

Although Blake had told her many times before not to eat or drink anything Brenda gave them.

But Lauren always saw she pour the water for Lily and then directly for them.

If nothing happened to Lily, how could anything happen to her?

Jasper walked into the Foster family mansion. The first thing he saw was Lauren and Lily drinking water together.

The veins on Jasper's forehead throbbed. He quickly walked over to them and snatched the water from Lauren's hand, dropping some liquid from a bottle he had in his pocket into it.

The water turned green.

Jasper frowned and took Lily's cup as well.

The same green color appeared.

Lauren looked at the color Jasper had created in the water in shock, her big eyes blinking, "Dad, what kind of magic is this?"

Jasper snorted, "This isn't magic; Ms. Baker poisoned the water!"

His words made the entire living room of the Foster family mansion fall silent.

Blake and Lauren exchanged glances, and she started to gag, trying to make herself throw up.

As she did, she said to Blake, "Hurry! Help Lily get it out!"

Blake paused, then shook his head, "It's no use."

This water jug and this cup, Lily had been using them for almost a month.

Every day, Brenda personally poured water for her.

If she really poisoned the water, it wouldn't be the first day.

"Jasper, what nonsense are you talking about?" Brenda frowned, unable to help herself. She threw the photos on the table and looked at Jasper with a reproachful expression.

She continued, "We were all getting along so well. I kindly poured water for Lily, Lauren, and Blake. You come in and drop some dye into the water and accuse me of poisoning them!"

Jasper smirked and took out the bottle, "Ms. Baker, let me introduce this to you. It is a poison detection solution prescribed by a famous foreign doctor, specifically for detecting the poison that the Phoebe family used on Grandma back then."

He then poured a cup of water from the water dispenser and dropped the solution into it.

The clear solution in the clear water showed no color change.

Brenda was stunned, her face turning pale. But she retorted, "Who knows if what you dropped into Lily and Lauren's cups was really this? Don't try to scare us with some color-changing dye!"

"

Rex couldn't help but snort, "Exactly! Who knows where you got all this dye from. Didn't Adeline drop a few drops into the vegetable soup yesterday? That color was much darker than what you just dropped. I thought it was some kind of seasoning, but I drank the whole bowl of soup and it had no taste at all. If you say everything this solution detects is poisonous, then I drank that soup over a day and I'm still fine."

Rex's words made Nathan's eyes widen, and he spoke in a trembling voice, "Rex, you drank the soup Adeline tested for poison?"

Rex looked at Nathan and Brenda's pale faces, "Why are you so nervous? I'm fine."

His attitude clearly showed that he really drank the soup Molly had poisoned!

Brenda was frantic, pulling him and running outside, "Let's go to the hospital!"

"I'm really fine!" Rex replied.

"You're fine now! This is a slow-acting poison, which needs to accumulate in the body to a certain level before it takes effect! I won't feel at ease until you're checked out and we know the poison won't affect you." Brenda said as she pulled him outside.

The living room fell silent.

Nathan looked up to meet Lily's angry eyes. He coughed lightly, "Well, I'll go check on Rex."

He was ready to escape.

Blake stepped forward, coldly blocking Nathan's path. "Grandpa, it seems you've always known about the poison Ms. Baker used. Shouldn't you stay and explain to Lily and Dad what you are really up to?"
