Chapter 393 I'll Talk to Her Today
Luna's words made Adeline involuntarily let out a cold laugh.
She looked up at Luna's face, which was full of fragility and innocence. She said with a subtle hint of sarcasm, "Ms. Jones, you are indeed magnanimous."
Luna chuckled softly then said, "It's not that I'm magnanimous. It's just that... how many years have elapsed since the affair between you and Jasper?
"I can't be jealous of things that happened before he even knew me.
" Miss Wilson, you wouldn't be jealous or angry seeing him with me six years after you broke up with him, right?"
Adeline's heart chilled at Luna's words, prompting a cold laugh. She replied, "That's true."
"What do you mean by that!" Hazel, quick to react, supported Luna's arm and gave Adeline a sharp look. "Adeline is just jealous that you're with Mr. Foster.
"She even had the audacity to slander, asserting that the dress you bought for me, valued at $50,000, was purchased for mere $500."
After saying that, Hazel snorted coldly. "I've always thought something was off about her. They can clearly fish out the fifty thousand dollars to compensate me, but they refuse to pay and even escalate the matter to Mr. Foster."
"Ms. Jones, she's just jealous of you and did it on purpose! Disgusting!"Hazel thought that after saying all this, Luna would stand by her side and speak up for her.
But to her surprise, Luna struggled to free herself from Hazel's support and stumbled into Jasper's arms.
Jasper frowned and gently caught her.
Luna, lying in Jasper's arms, said softly, "Hazel, how could you say that about Mis.Wilson? She must have had a reason for treating you that way."
Then she glanced coldly at Hazel's dress and shifted the blame, "When I gave you this dress, I told you it was worth five hundred dollars. How did it become fifty thousand dollars when you said it?"
Hazel was dumbfounded. She widened her eyes in disbelief.
Lucia, who was supporting Adeline, rolled her eyes behind Luna's back.
Adeline pursed her lips and remained silent.
Robert stepped in to smooth things over. "So, Ms. Jones, the dress you gave to this employee is really worth five hundred dollars?
"Is Hazel the one who inflated the value to fifty thousand dollars to extort us?"
Luna turned to Robert. "Hazel actually asked you for fifty thousand dollars?"
Then she looked Hazel up and down, her face full of confusion.Luna said, "Hazel just called me saying someone deliberately spilled soup on her downstairs, making the dress unwearable.
"I couldn’t attend to it myself, so I entrusted Jasper to handle the matter regarding Hazel's dress. But now it seems the dress isn't so dirty that it can't be worn."
Luna gave Hazel a resentful look and scolded, "Hazel, how could you do this? A few oil stains would only cost fifty dollars for dry cleaning. How could you extort fifty thousand dollars?"
She sighed, claiming, "Luckily, Hazel encountered Ms. Wilson and her friends today. Otherwise, if others knew Hazel was my employee, they may think I condone her behavior."
Luna's words made the entire hallway fall silent.
Hazel glared at Luna. "Ms. Jones!"
"Hazel, you have disappointed me." Luna sniffled, wiped away tears, and said with a voice full of grievance and helplessness, "You've been with me for over a year, but I never realized your character was like this. Maybe I've been too good to you, so that's why you're so reckless."
Then, with tearful eyes, Luna looked at Jasper and informed him, "Jasper, I want to settle Hazel's salary and let her go.
"It's not too late to know Hazel's true nature. I'm afraid if I continue to associate with her, I might be unknowingly influenced by her."
Jasper sighed and gently held Luna. "Alright."
Then he looked up at the pale-faced Hazel and instructed her, "Hazel, go to the butler at Emerald Crest Estate to settle your salary and leave."
Hazel's face turned ashen.
"Ms. Jones!" She bit her lip in grievance and quickly grabbed Luna's arm. "Ms. Jones, maybe I made a mistake. When you gave me this dress, you might have said it was five hundred dollars, and I misheard it as fifty thousand dollars. Please don't fire me. I can take a pay cut!"
Hazel's grip on Luna's arm was strong, causing Luna to frown in pain. "Hazel, you're hurting me."
As soon as Luna finished speaking, Jasper coldly pulled Hazel's arm away and threw her aside.
Hazel fell in the hallway and didn't get up for a long time.
Jasper frowned and dialed Ryan's number. "Ryan, send someone to take her away."
Soon, the hospital security came and took Hazel away.
"Ms. Jones, Ms. Jones!" As Hazel was dragged into the elevator by the security, she kept wailing. "You can't do this to me! I know your secret!"
Adeline clearly saw a trace of coldness in Luna's eyes when Hazel mentioned that.
Once the elevator doors closed, Luna reverted to her pitiful look. She spoke softly, "Hazel has always been good to me. How could she do such a thing? When I employed Hazel, I had fired several people before."
Seeing Luna's sad and disappointed expression, Jasper quickly comforted her, "It's okay. I'll find you someone better."
Luna said, "Jasper, I don't want any staff. I can take care of myself. What if the next one is like Hazel?"
Jasper frowned as he remarked, "But you need to recuperate."
"It's okay." Luna bit her lip and said softly, "I remember you recently found a hematologist named Freya Bishop. Can you have Ms. Bishop be my personal doctor?
"Just let her stay at Emerald Crest Estate. She can take care of me when I'm sick, and the servants can handle my daily needs."
Luna's words made Adeline, who was being supported by Lucia as they were about to leave, frown deeply.
Freya, who was the doctor currently living at Blue Bay, took care of Blake and conducted daily check-ups. She was also the one who helped find a bone marrow match for Blake with her doctor friends.
And now Luna was directly asking for Freya, a renowned hematologist, to take care of her? She didn't even have a blood disorder!
Just when Adeline thought Jasper would disagree, Jasper pondered for a moment before replying, "Alright. I'll talk to her today."
