Chapter 753 You Are Going to Be a Father
Jason's words stopped Dennis dead in his tracks.
He furrowed his brow and quickly pulled out his phone, dialing Jason's number.
To his shock, the phone of the man standing right in front of him started ringing. Dennis was stunned.
"Are you Jason?"
But the guy Dennis had met at the airport, who had claimed to be Jason, was definitely not the person standing before him now!
Coming from a family of doctors, Dennis had been able to distinguish the slightest differences between various medicines since he was a kid. There was no way he could mistake a person.
The man in front of him was not the one he had met at the airport!
What was going on?
Seeing the expression on Dennis's face, Jason sighed and closed his eyes.
"We've been played."
The Dennis he had met wasn't the real Dennis.
And the Jason Dennis had met wasn't him either.
So, he had given the real Crag Root Herb to the fake Dennis.
The real Dennis had received weeds from the fake Jason.
The truth was now clear.
"It looks like the person impersonating Dennis is from the Torres family."
Suddenly, a weak male voice came from the doorway.
Dennis and Jason turned around simultaneously.
Behind them, Jasper, dressed in gray pajamas, was leaning against the doorframe, his face as pale as the wall.
"I actually figured it out on the plane... after I learned about it."
"But..." Jasper clutched the doorframe tightly, his voice as weak as his appearance.
"I didn't expect Brandon to be so despicable as to play such a trick."
Dennis bit his lip and stepped forward to support Jasper. "I'll go to the Phoebe family right now and clear things up!"
Lately, everyone had been saying that Jasper had humiliated him and the Phoebe family, and that Brandon was the true benefactor of the Phoebe family.
He had to stand up for Jasper!
Just as Dennis was about to leave, Jasper grabbed him.
"Don't say anything until we have enough evidence."
He clutched his chest and coughed violently before continuing in a weak voice.
"The airport surveillance from that day has probably been destroyed, but we can still find other evidence."
"If we can't produce evidence that Brandon set you and Dennis up... the Phoebe family won't believe just your words."
Jasper's words made Dennis and Jason exchange a glance, and they ultimately abandoned the idea of going to the Phoebe family that night.
"I'm sorry."
Dennis sighed deeply.
"I shouldn't have doubted you."
"When I received the weeds at the airport that day... I was really angry, and that's why..."
Jasper leaned against the headboard with his eyes closed. "Did Oliver move out?"
"Yes," Dennis nodded quickly, "He said he was worried that Adeline, having just returned to the Phoebe family, would be targeted by Daisy, so he took Joseph and moved back to the Phoebe Mansion."
"This villa was originally bought for me and Nova to live in, and now it's just the two of us. Don't worry."
"Alright." Jasper's voice was faint as he spoke with his eyes closed.
"You should replace the bodyguards and servants in the villa."
"I have a friend named David, who has some influence in Oceancrest City. If you need people, tell Ryan, and he'll contact David to arrange reliable people for you."
Dennis paused for a moment before understanding Jasper's meaning.
He couldn't help but be impressed. "Mr. Foster, you're really thorough."
It was clear that there were already spies from the Torres family in the villa.
Otherwise, how could Brandon have known that Jasper had found the Crag Root Herb and had Jason deliver it?
Jasper closed his eyes and struggled to open them to look at Jason.
"Take care of Blake, Bennett, and Lauren for me... I need to rest for a while."
With that, Jasper closed his eyes and passed out.
Dennis wiped the cold sweat from Jasper's forehead and sighed deeply.
Jasper... his willpower was incredible.
If it were an ordinary person, falling off a cliff would have left them unconscious for more than seven days.
And they certainly wouldn't have been able to pull themselves together to attend a banquet... let alone calmly arrange everything before passing out.
Thinking about how such a strong-willed man might become Oliver's biggest rival in the business world in the future... Dennis couldn't help but worry for Oliver.
Phoebe Mansion.
Adeline was hunched over the toilet, vomiting violently.
Maybe it was because she had been too heartless to Jasper and the three kids earlier, and now the baby in her belly was protesting?
Since returning from the banquet hall, Adeline's morning sickness had started again and wouldn't stop.
She clung to the toilet, almost emptying everything from her stomach.
"Adeline?" A gentle, weak middle-aged woman's voice came from outside.
"Are you still awake?"
Zara, supported by Daisy, carefully knocked on Adeline's door.
Although she had been at home, she had heard about the unpleasant events at the banquet hall.
So she had asked Daisy about it.
With Daisy's embellishments, Zara mistakenly believed that the conflict between Adeline and Howard was irreconcilable, prompting her to rush over to Adeline's room.
In the bathroom, Adeline was vomiting so hard that tears streamed down her face.
She quickly tidied herself up and washed her face before opening the door.
"Mom, why are you still up so late?"
Zara, supported by Daisy, walked slowly into the room.
"I heard you had a fight with your father. How could I sleep?"
Zara sighed and held Adeline's hand. "Don't think your father is heartless for wanting you to cut ties with Jasper... He used to be very fond of the Foster family. Mrs. Lily Foster was once the person he respected the most."
"But... after Esther died, the Foster family refused to listen to your father's explanation and demanded a life for a life, killing your father's only brother. That's when he started to hate the Foster family."
"You..." Before Zara could finish, Adeline felt her stomach churning again.
She quickly covered her mouth and rushed back to the bathroom, clutching the toilet and vomiting once more.
Zara panicked. "Adeline, you..."
"Adeline must be sick."
Daisy squinted her eyes. "Mother, should I get a doctor?"
Zara nodded quickly. "Go."
Daisy nodded.
As she turned to leave, Daisy glanced at Adeline dry heaving in the bathroom and couldn't help but smirk.
Leaving Adeline's room, Daisy elegantly picked up her phone and dialed a number.
"Brandon, congratulations, you're going to be a father."
