Chapter 845 Expelling Adeline From the Phoebe Family
Just as Howard was about to pass out, Adeline furrowed her brows, dashed forward, snatched the Nitroglycerin tablets from his hand, and pressed one into his mouth.
After the pill was administered, Howard didn't lose consciousness.
He almost completely collapsed onto Daisy, trembling all over as he pointed at Adeline.
"You!"
"You foolish girl, where did you send your mother?"
Adeline took a deep breath. "I sent her to a safe place."
She lifted her head, her gaze steady on Howard. "I didn't think it was safe for her to stay in Oceancrest City, so I sent her away."
Supporting Howard, Daisy paused, feigning confusion as she glanced at Adeline.
"But I saw Mom lying in bed just fine yesterday morning. When did you send her away?"
Adeline sneered. "If you saw her yesterday morning, then I must have sent her away in the afternoon."
Daisy covered her mouth in shock.
"So, the grand convoy Jasper had yesterday was to help you send Mom away."
"What?"
Howard exploded like a bomb at Daisy's words.
"Jasper sent Zara away yesterday!"
"Dad, don't get angry. I'm just guessing."
Daisy bit her lip, hesitantly glancing between Howard and Adeline.
"I just heard that Jasper had a huge convoy escorting an RV out of Oceancrest City yesterday."
"I thought it was something important, like supplies, so I had someone follow it."
She quickly pulled out her phone, showing Howard the footage Brandon's people had taken of Jasper's convoy.
"Look, this is what my people captured yesterday afternoon."
"We lost them once they left the city."
"But it's strange. Our people investigated for a long time and still don't know what important documents or materials Jasper was escorting."
Daisy spoke cautiously, glancing at Adeline.
"With all the news about Adeline and Jasper today, and Adeline saying Mom was sent away yesterday..."
"I just blurted out that Jasper sent Mom away."
"But it might not be true. Adeline knows Jasper is the one who made Mom a vegetable eight months ago. Why would she do such a thing?"
Howard narrowed his eyes, glaring at Adeline.
"Tell me! Did Jasper's convoy send your mother away yesterday?"
Adeline narrowed her eyes. "Yes."
As soon as she spoke, Howard slapped her hard across the face.
Despite his weakened state, Howard was still a grown man with considerable strength.
He didn't hold back at all.
Adeline staggered back, hitting the cabinet behind her, her spine slamming against it.
Her face burned, her head spun, and her mouth tasted of blood.
She opened her eyes, trying to focus on Howard, but she couldn't even manage that.
"Adeline!"
Sebastian rushed in, supporting Adeline. "Are you okay?"
With Sebastian's help, Adeline struggled to stand, managing to get up after two attempts.
Howard glared at the stranger who had burst in from Adeline's yard.
"Who are you?" Howard demanded.
"I'm Adeline's friend," Sebastian replied, smirking at Howard. "Do you remember me?"
Howard frowned, trying to place the face. Then it clicked. "You're that servant Molly brought home, aren't you?"
Sebastian nodded. "Yeah, that's me."
Howard sneered. "So, you're friends with Adeline now? Weren't you Molly's closest servant back then?"
Daisy's eyes widened as she recognized Sebastian. "Wait, you're Sebastian! Molly brought you back with Adeline's son! I thought you were dead after Molly's death. And now you're Adeline's friend?"
Sebastian shrugged. "Life's full of surprises."
Daisy bit her lip, glancing between Sebastian and Adeline. "Weren't you Molly's boyfriend? And now you're with Adeline?"
Howard's frown deepened. "He was Molly's boyfriend?"
"Yes," Daisy confirmed, sneering. "He was Molly's boyfriend. Because of a mix-up with the DNA test, Molly thought she was your child and feared you wouldn't allow her to have a boyfriend, so she said Sebastian was her servant."
She looked Adeline up and down. "Adeline, you're really something. Flirting with Jasper while keeping another man in the house."
"If I remember correctly, it's only been a month since you had a baby, right? Can your body handle it?"
Howard's face turned red with rage, his whole body trembling as he pointed at Adeline.
"The Phoebe family doesn't have shameless relatives like you! Not only are you unfilial, but you're also promiscuous! Even if you like other men, one is Jasper, our family's enemy, who almost bankrupted us, and the other is Molly's boyfriend! Do you have any shame or basic decency?"
He panted heavily, struggling to catch his breath.
At that moment, Daisy's phone rang. She deliberately put it on speaker.
The secretary's voice echoed in the room. "Ms. Daisy Phoebe, it's bad!"
"Because of today's news about Ms. Adeline Phoebe, many shareholders want to withdraw their shares and are demanding an explanation from the company! They say the Phoebe family must give them an answer today. Either expel Ms. Adeline Phoebe from the family or convert their shares to cash and return it to them. Otherwise, they'll cause trouble at the company every day!"
"Also, many senior executives are now demoralized. They've been fighting against the Foster Group's attacks for nearly a year."
"And our Ms. Adeline Phoebe is getting cozy with the enemy. Ms. Daisy Phoebe, what should we do?"
The secretary's words were accompanied by the shareholders' angry shouts. The room fell silent.
Howard let go of Daisy, turning to sit in a chair, looking defeated.
He closed his eyes and sighed. "Announce that after your and Brandon's wedding tonight, I will expel Adeline from the Phoebe family."
A flash of joy crossed Daisy's eyes. She bit her lip. "But Dad, if we expel Adeline, what about the frozen assets of the Phoebe family?"
