Chapter 491 Can You Let Her Chat With Me?
Ryan said, "Adeline, sorry for the offense."
In Blue Bay, Ryan, Tim, and a few other bodyguards had Adeline and Blake tied up.
The villa was a mess.
Alice, holding Lauren, snapped, "How dare you treat Blake like this!"
Lauren bit her lip. She didn't cry, but her eyes were already shiny with tears. "Does Dad know you're treating Mom and Blake like this?"
Ryan sighed. "If you don't come with us willingly, we'll have to tie you up and take you. This is Mr. Foster's order."
Adeline squinted, a cold smirk on her lips. "I can sue Jasper and you for breaking into a private residence and kidnapping people."
Ryan gave a bitter smile. "Adeline, you know how hard it is to sue Jasper in Radiance Springs."
He turned away, not daring to look at Adeline any longer. "Besides, Mr. Foster told us not to rough you up unless absolutely necessary. He didn't want to treat you like this on purpose."
Adeline sneered. "Not on purpose? Jasper may not want you to treat us roughly, but he does want my son to donate blood to that Luna! Blake is also a patient, and he's been sick for years! Now that he's finally recovered, he has to donate blood to Luna because she got into a car accident! Why?"
Ryan closed his eyes. Why? Because Blake's bone marrow was donated by Luna.
Just before coming here, he had heard Luna say it herself in the hospital room.
She said that if Blake didn't come to see her, if he didn't donate some blood to her, she might as well let herself die from blood loss.
Jasper was also in a tough spot.
So Jasper came up with this plan, having people fetch blood from another blood bank while bringing Blake over to pretend to donate blood to Luna.
But before setting off, Jasper specifically instructed Ryan not to tell Adeline about this.
Adeline was very smart and suspicious.
If she were told that Luna insisted on Blake donating blood, Adeline would eventually figure out that Blake's bone marrow was donated by Luna.
So, Jasper would rather let Adeline misunderstand him as ruthless than let her know the truth.
Thinking of this, Ryan couldn't help but feel a bit sorry for Jasper. Clearly, Jasper was the one most worried about Adeline.
Yesterday, upon hearing that Adeline was drunk, Jasper went straight to the hotel to find her, afraid she might be taken advantage of.
Even though Jasper hadn't eaten all night, he still made her a hangover soup at her house.
Every time it was brought up, Jasper would always say it was he who wronged Adeline.
Actually, Jasper, who couldn't bear to let Adeline go, who was always thinking of her, had to play the role of the villain in front of her due to various reasons.
Taking a deep breath, Ryan ordered the people behind him, "Take them away."
So, Adeline and Blake were escorted into the car with their hands tied.
Just as the car was about to start, the back door was opened.
Vikram sat down next to Adeline in the back seat, buttoning up his shirt as he spoke, "Mind if I tag along?"
Ryan frowned. "As long as you don't cause trouble."
Vikram chuckled. "Relax, I'm just here to watch. If I wanted to cause trouble, I would've done it already."
Ryan paused, then sighed and started the car. Vikram knew too much. If he got provoked, who knows what he might spill.
Once the car was moving, Vikram leaned close to Adeline's ear. "Don't worry. I'm on your side. When we get out of the car—"
Before he could finish, his phone buzzed. It was a message from Luna. No words, just a photo of Caroline lying on a hospital bed, looking pale and lifeless.
Vikram's hand shook, almost dropping the phone. As he tried to delete the photo, another message came in.
Luna: [Don't cause trouble if you don't want jail.]
Vikram gripped his phone tightly. Luna always used Caroline to threaten him. If pushed too far, he might dig up Caroline's case to clear his name.
But for now, he sighed and swallowed his plan to help Adeline escape.
Soon, the car pulled up to the hospital entrance. Adeline frowned and glanced at Vikram, signaling him to start.
But Vikram, ignoring her, opened the car door and got out. "I ate breakfast too quickly and need to use the restroom. You guys go ahead; I'll catch up later!"
With that, Vikram ran off. Adeline watched him go, frowning deeply.
Blake shrugged. "That guy is really unreliable."
He then smiled, trying to comfort Adeline. "Mom, it's okay. It's just donating some blood; it won't kill me. If it can help you repay Jasper's favor, I'm willing to do it. After all, donating blood is much better than being sick. I've endured all kinds of suffering when I was ill."
Blake's words were meant to comfort, but they made Adeline's heart ache even more. Blake had endured so much pain while he was sick. Having finally recovered, a mere month later, he was compelled to come to the hospital to donate blood to Luna because of Jasper.
She wanted to hug Blake tightly, but with her hands tied, she couldn't.
Seeing that Adeline and Blake were no longer struggling, Ryan ordered his men to untie them. He then picked up Blake and headed into the hospital. Ryan knew that as long as he held Blake, Adeline would follow, even if she wasn't tied up.
The group reached the floor where Luna was. Blake was changed into a hospital gown and taken for a check-up to donate blood to Luna. Adeline could only wait in the corridor, looking discontent.
Soon, the door to Luna's room opened, and Jasper walked out. Seeing Jasper's hypocritical face, Adeline squinted and said, "Blake has been brought here to donate blood. Are you satisfied now?"
Jasper frowned. "Adeline, it's just a bit of blood. It won't harm him. Why are you making such a fuss?"
Adeline laughed. "I make a fuss?"
She continued, "Jasper, you had Blake dragged here to give blood to Ms. Jones early in the morning. And now you're blaming me for making a fuss? If anything happens to Blake, I won't forgive you!"
"Jasper—" Just as Adeline and Jasper were about to argue, a weak voice came from the room. "Jasper, is Adeline here? Can you let her come in and chat with me?"
