Chapter 70 Enchanting Hearts

Molly's caused Adeline to pause momentarily.

After a moment, she smirked, "Congratulations, Miss Collins."

"You know, you definitely don't believe it," Molly calmly placed the highball glass on the table and gazed at Adeline's face with her finely lined eyes. "You have a limited understanding. It's not your fault."

"How long have you been with Jasper?" Molly's lips curled into a smug smile. "Do you know why that Adeline only dared to send her daughter back but didn't dare to show up?"

Adeline lowered her brows and played with the glass on the table. "I really don't know."

"Because she dares not come back. She knows better than anyone that her car accident wasn't an accident but orchestrated by someone," Molly said calmly. "Yes, that accident was planned by Jasper, and I know it."

Adeline raised an eyebrow and looked at Molly. "How does Miss Collins know?"

"Because Jasper planned that accident. It's as simple as that. He always favored me, and when he found out that Adeline was pregnant, he took it upon himself to resolve the situation without consulting me," Molly's voice remained calm, and her smile was full of pride. "I only found out about all this later, and I had a big fight with him because of it."

Adeline's nails dug deep into her palms.

She suppressed the surge of emotions and asked, "Why does Miss Collins tell me all this? Our relationship is far from being considered close enough for sharing such secrets, isn't it?"

There must be a reason why Molly came up to her and said these things for no apparent reason.

"This isn't about sharing secrets with you," Molly sneered. "You are not worth my effort."

"I simply wanted to let you know that I am the only one in Jasper's heart," she raised her narrow gaze arrogantly at Adeline. "Just a simple show-off."

"After tonight," she raised an eyebrow slightly, "you will become my defeated opponent."

With that, she got up from her seat.

"I hope after tonight you truly give up on seducing Jasper. Otherwise..." she chuckled, "Adeline, the one who will end up with triplets falling off a bridge after being hit by a car, that will be your fate."

Molly leaned down, lifted her wine glass, and lightly tapped it against the tall glass in Adeline's hand.

After touching Adeline's glass, Molly did not drink the red wine inside. Instead, she disdainfully threw both the tall glass and its contents into the trash.

Taking out a tissue from her pocket, Molly elegantly wiped her hands. "Wishing you a pleasant evening."

Adeline sat there, watching her leave. Her hands clenched into fists tightly.

Her heart ached as if it had been stirred with a knife!

Everything Molly said, she had long been aware of, understood.

But being aware and understanding something laid out in such a cruelly direct manner were two different things!

Moreover, Molly spoke of those things with an arrogant tone and a boastful attitude.

Those past shames and pains were like a sharp sword, ruthlessly cleaving her heart in two.

All the goodwill she had accumulated for Jasper these past few days was instantly diminished by Molly's words.

How could she forget how cruel Jasper had been to her all those years?

She loved him, loved him enough to give up everything of her own for him.

Yet he could mercilessly kill her, sacrifice her without any regard.

In his eyes, she was merely a disposable passerby.

"Adeline."

Just as Adeline was lost in thought, staring at Molly's departing figure, a deep male voice sounded beside her.

She blinked and turned around, there stood Brandon. Dressed in a white suit.

He stood tall and straight, his refined features attracted the gaze of the surrounding socialites.

Wine glass in hand, he smiled at her. "Have you been here long?"

"No," Adeline took a deep breath, dismissing the uneasiness Molly had stirred within her. She courteously gestured for him to take a seat beside her. "When did you arrive?"

"Just now," Brandon said nonchalantly, his lips curling as he sipped his wine, carefully observing everything in the venue. "Quite grand, I must say."

"After all, it is Grandma Foster's eightieth birthday," Adeline nodded.

The man shifted into a more comfortable position on the couch, a light laughter playing on his lips. "If it weren't for my prior investigation into the Foster family, I might not have dared to oppose Jasper with such a show today."

The woman's body slightly tensed. "You... want to challenge Jasper?"

"That's a thought."

"No need, Brandon," Adeline sighed. "I can handle my own affairs without your interference."

"Just some business competition," Brandon chuckled softly. "But if you need me, I'll stand by your side anytime."

His words felt too intimate, leaving Adeline feeling instinctively uncomfortable.

After a moment, she cleared her throat. "Have you seen Bennett?"

"Yeah," the man smirked. "Just saw him outside with two bodyguards."

"Your son is just like you, capable of mesmerizing people. He even managed to make two grown men call him their boss."

Adeline shook her head. "He has that ability, but I don't."

If she truly had the power to mesmerize, she wouldn't have sacrificed so much back then, only to be ruthlessly abandoned by Jasper.

"You do." Perhaps seeing through her thoughts, Brandon's lips curled. "He just doesn't know how to appreciate. If I were him, I could never..."

Before he could finish his sentence, Brandon's words were abruptly cut off by Adeline, "It's starting."

However, the man showed no signs of irritation.

He shifted into a more comfortable position beside Adeline, calmly gazing at the center stage of the venue.

"Welcome, everyone!" The host enthusiastically introduced, "Now, please join me as we welcome the honored lady to the stage!"

As the host's words fell, Grandma Foster, dressed in a magnificent gown, walked onto the center stage with Molly's support.

"Thank you, dear friends and family, for joining me to celebrate my birthday," Grandma Foster smiled, holding the microphone. After exchanging some pleasantries, she grabbed onto Molly's hand. "On this special day, I have an important announcement to make."

The relatives in the audience were all perceptive individuals.

Everyone was well aware of Molly being Jasper's fiancée!

Now, with Grandma Foster holding Molly's hand on stage, it was not hard to guess what the announcement would be.

And so, the guests began to let their thoughts be heard.

"Is it time to announce Mr. Foster and Miss Collins' wedding date?"

"After five years of engagement, the love race finally comes to an end!"

"I'm really looking forward to this couple..."

Adeline bit her lip and fixed her gaze on Molly as she stood on the stage.

At that moment, Molly happened to be looking at her too.

In the women's eyes, there was nothing but conceit and disdain.

"Everyone has guessed correctly!"

Grandma Foster exchanged a glance with Molly, then held her hand with a beaming smile. "My grandson Jasper has finally decided to bring Molly home as his bride!"

The venue instantly erupted.

After conveying their congratulations, the crowd finally noticed a question:

Since this announcement of their wedding news; where was Jasper, why wasn't he present?

"Where is Mr. Foster?"

Someone in the audience boldly asked.

Mum, the Billionaire Dad's Popping the Question to You!
