Chapter 575 The One Who Doesn't Know Jasper Is You

The beach went dead quiet, with just the waves crashing against the shore.

Everyone was staring at Adeline, totally shocked. No one expected a birthday party to go down like this.

Lauren stood there, stunned, tears welling up. She was the one who came up with this whole idea.

Jasper had been against it from the start, worried it would upset Adeline.

But Lauren thought it was the best plan. She pushed, and Jasper finally gave in.

'Mommy slapped Daddy!' Lauren was so freaked out she ran to Adeline and grabbed her hand.

"Mommy, don't be mad. It was my idea, not Daddy's! If you're angry, take it out on me!"

But Adeline was too furious to listen.

She looked at Lauren, who was trying to take the blame, with a cold smile. "Jasper, you're unbelievable. When things go south, you let Lauren take the fall. I've seen just how low you can go today!"

She dropped the flowers she was holding and gave everyone a frosty look.

"Enjoy the party." With that, she turned and walked away.

Behind her, she could hear Lauren crying and the crowd murmuring. Adeline kept walking, tears streaming down her face.

Jasper knew she hated it, but he still used the kids to prank her on her birthday.

She knew everyone probably thought she was overreacting and ungrateful.

But to her, that hour of fear, helplessness, and despair was no joke!

She kept walking along the coastal road towards the city. The sounds from the beach faded until all she could hear was the wind.

Just then, her phone rang. It was Violet.

Thinking of how Violet had been singing the birthday song with Jasper earlier, her heart ached, and she hung up.

The phone rang again, and she hung up again. Finally, just as she was about to turn off her phone in frustration, Vikram called.

Adeline paused, remembering Vikram hadn't been in the crowd earlier. She took a deep breath and answered.

"Happy birthday." Vikram's voice was light.

"I forgot to tell you, I'm heading back abroad tonight. The court summoned, and I need to prepare."

Vikram sounded casual. "I was thinking if you had time, you could see me off. But I heard it's your birthday, and Jasper threw a party for you."

Adeline bit her lip. "When's your flight?"

Vikram checked his watch. "In two hours."

Adeline took a deep breath. "I'll come to the airport to see you off."

Vikram sounded surprised. "Aren't you supposed to be at your birthday party? You didn't go?"

Adeline sniffled. "I don't like celebrating birthdays."

She hung up, hailed a cab, and headed to the airport.

She didn't want to go back to Blue Bay or to Violet's place.

She knew anyone who found her now would probably scold her for her earlier behavior and then lecture her about Jasper's feelings.

So, she decided to see Vikram off. No one would guess she'd head to the airport.

Soon, she arrived. After finding Vikram, Adeline turned off her phone.

"So, you ran away from your birthday party?" Vikram asked, leaning against a chair and looking at her.

"I didn't expect someone with a six-year-old to be just as stubborn," he added.

Adeline shot him a cold look, grabbed the unopened lemonade from his hand, and took a sip. "I didn't come all this way to hear that."

Vikram rested one hand on the chair, looking at her, and shook his head. "You and Jasper clearly care about each other, so why act like this?"

Adeline sipped the lemonade and sneered. "I used to care about him, but not anymore."

A mocking smile appeared on her lips. "He never cared about me."

Whether it was six years ago or now, she was just a dispensable role to Jasper.

Otherwise, he wouldn't keep using the kids to prank her, knowing she hated it.

Vikram glanced at Adeline and sighed deeply. He pursed his lips. "Do you think he likes Luna?"

Adeline shrugged. "Of course."

Jasper might deny it now, but his past favoritism and infatuation with Luna were real. Even Molly and Stella never got that kind of tolerance from him.

Vikram took a deep breath and looked steadily at Adeline. "Actually, Jasper never liked Luna. I guarantee it."

Adeline paused. After a moment, she couldn't help but laugh. "You don't know Jasper, and you're guaranteeing it?"

He said, "The one who doesn't know Jasper is you."

Vikram glanced at the time. "It's almost boarding time, so I'll keep it short."

He took a deep breath. "You always tell me you know Jasper better than anyone, that you know how cruel and heartless he is, but I think you don't understand him at all."

He continued. "You saw him being nice to Luna and assumed he liked her, but in reality..."
