Chapter 840 When Can This Bad Habit Be Changed
In the downtown mansion, Jasper stood shirtless, extending his arm so Giselle could apply the medicine.
Sebastian had called Jasper right after Adeline left the small courtyard.
Giselle was someone Jasper had specifically arranged to be there.
Earlier that evening, when they left Lucky Restaurant, he had noticed someone secretly taking photos of them.
Coupled with the Torres family chasing their car today, he figured Brandon would definitely cause trouble for Adeline tomorrow.
So she couldn't stay with him for too long.
Since Adeline had misunderstood his relationship with Giselle last time, he decided to use Giselle to drive her away this time.
Because of the job reassignment due to her previous tardiness, Giselle cherished this opportunity to be at Jasper's mansion.
She wore her most expensive clothes and applied delicate makeup. Carefully, she applied the medicine to Jasper's arm while speaking gently:
"Mr. Foster, your arm is in this condition. Maybe you shouldn't go to the office for the next few days?"
"I can help Ryan with the workload and bring the documents here for you."
As she spoke, she sneaked a glance at Jasper's torso.
Under the soft yellow light, his well-defined chest and abs were wrapped in a warm hue.
Such a physique was so sexy that just one more look could make a woman's nosebleed.
And Giselle thought she might be the only woman in the entire company who had seen his abs and chest.
Thinking of this, Giselle's voice became even softer, "Mr. Foster, I used to do nursing work. During your recovery, I can take care of your meals and apply your medicine."
"There's no need. Ryan is enough."
After saying this indifferently, he glanced at the clock on the wall.
It was about time.
A moment later, the doorbell of the villa rang.
Giselle frowned and looked at the time, "It's already ten o'clock at night."
"Mr. Foster, who could it be at this hour?"
Could it be another woman Jasper had called to help with his injury?
"I don't know. Go open the door."
Giselle carefully got up.
She even thought proudly that being able to open the door for Jasper this late was quite an honor.
If it were someone from the company, even better.
That way, everyone in the company would know she stayed at Jasper's house tonight!
Thinking of this, she carefully adjusted her clothes and hair before elegantly opening the door.
But to her surprise, it was the woman from the morning standing outside.
She was dressed in loungewear, her hair a bit messy, and she wore slippers.
But even so, she couldn't hide her natural elegance.
In fact, her delicate features had a lazy, disheveled beauty in this outfit.
In comparison, Giselle's meticulously prepared clothes and makeup lost their luster.
Giselle frowned. "Why are you here?"
"Where's Jasper?"
Adeline ignored her and rushed inside the mansion.
Giselle quickly followed and tried to stop her:
"Mr. Foster is already resting at this hour."
"What are you doing here dressed like that?"
"Tonight, I'm the one taking care of Mr. Foster. You better leave!"
Her words made Adeline pause slightly.
She turned to look at Giselle, "Didn't you get enough of a beating this morning?"
Mentioning the morning's beating made Giselle hesitate.
Taking advantage of this, Adeline pushed her aside and rushed into the mansion.
When she reached the living room, Jasper was buttoning up his pajamas.
Under the light, he wore only a pajama top, his chest and abs faintly visible through the fabric.
Seeing Adeline, Jasper pretended to be surprised. "What are you doing here?"
Then he smirked. "Here to catch me cheating?"
Adeline didn't want to waste words with him. She knew everything he said now was just a distraction. He just didn't want her to know he was injured.
Thinking of this, Adeline quickly stepped forward and tore open Jasper's pajama top.
He held her back. "Isn't it a bit much to undress me as soon as you come in?"
"What's the big deal? Haven't I seen every part of you?"
Adeline took a deep breath, knowing that the injured Jasper couldn't stop her. She pushed his hands away and tore off his pajama top.
His injured right arm was fully exposed to Adeline. She didn't know how severe his wound was, but from the stitches and length, it was a very deep cut.
Giselle rushed in, quickly picking up Jasper's pajama top and helping him put it on while glaring at Adeline. "Even if you had that kind of relationship with Mr. Foster, there's no need to be in such a hurry."
Adeline ignored her words. She just stood there, staring at Jasper. "Why didn't you tell me?"
Jasper, with Giselle's help, put on his clothes and spoke indifferently. "Why should I tell you? You're not a doctor."
"I'm not a doctor, but I have the right to know!"
He got injured because of her mother; she had the right to know!
Adeline bit her lip, her hands silently clenching into fists at her sides. "I don't want to owe you."
"That's exactly why I didn't bother telling you."
Jasper raised an eyebrow indifferently. "Adeline, haven't you always tried to distance yourself from me? If I told you I was injured, how would you keep your distance?"
His words made Adeline's face flush with embarrassment. She bit her lip, suddenly at a loss for words.
From the moment she knew Jasper was injured, she had only one thought: to find him. Adeline wanted to know how bad his injury was, how he was doing. But until Jasper said those words, Adeline suddenly realized she should have pretended not to know.
He was right; Adeline had always wanted to distance herself from him. Since Jasper had deliberately hidden his injury, why should she expose it? Didn't Adeline know that once she exposed it, she would owe him another favor?
"Alright, Adeline." Jasper squinted. "This wound is deep, but it won't kill me. You've seen it now. Are you satisfied?"
Then he glanced at Giselle beside him. "It's late. Giselle and I need to rest. You should go and stop disturbing us."
Giselle couldn't believe Jasper would say such a thing to her! She excitedly clung to Jasper's uninjured arm. "Yes, you should leave. It's so late. Don't stay here."
Adeline pursed her lips, glanced at Jasper, then at Giselle clinging to his arm, and a cold smile appeared on her lips. "Jasper, next time you put on a show for me, pick a smarter woman."
With that, she turned and left.
As she walked out of the mansion, Adeline clearly heard Giselle's coquettish voice behind her. "Mr. Foster, she actually called me stupid."
Adeline couldn't help but laugh. Laughing, she started to cry. After all this time, she still lost her mind the moment she heard Jasper was injured. When would Adeline ever change this habit?
She sniffed, wiped away her tears, and was about to return to her car when a car pulled up beside her. The window rolled down, revealing Brandon's hypocritical face.
"Get in. We need to talk."
