Chapter 691 Is It Related to You

Noticing something was off with Mia, Adeline frowned and glanced at her. "Hey, what's up?"

Mia bit her lip and rushed in, pushing the door open.

Her sudden entrance made the two people in the room turn around simultaneously.

Inside was Daphne, the woman who had previously given them information. The man sitting elegantly on the sofa was the same one they had encountered at the ruins of Blue Bay a few days ago.

At that moment, he was sitting gracefully on the sofa, gently stroking his left thumb with his right hand. The thumb, which should have been adorned with a jade ring, was bare.

Both people in the room looked at Mia with indifference.

Mia bit her lip, scanned the room, and frowned deeply. "Just the two of you?"

She had clearly heard a man's voice just now, which sounded exactly like the man from six years ago!

But whether it was Thomas from six years ago or Molly from a while back, they both said her child's father was an ugly, fat old man. The man in front of her was distinguished, handsome, and refined—clearly not the same person.

"Who else were you expecting?" Oliver glanced coldly at Mia at the door. "Barging in without knocking. Is this how Mia White, the daughter of Radiance Springs' third wealthiest family, behaves?"

Knowing that the man recognized her, Mia frowned and was about to say something when Adeline rushed in behind her.

The awkward atmosphere in the room made Adeline instantly understand what had happened. She smiled awkwardly at the two people inside. "Sorry, my friend urgently needed to see Daphne, so she rushed in."

"You... you guys continue!" She said, pulling Mia out of the room.

Mia frowned, reluctantly being dragged out by Adeline.

"Wait."

Just as the two women were about to leave the room, Oliver stood up, frowning slightly.

Oliver walked over to Daphne. "You have three days to get me all the information about that woman from back then. Don't think you can brush me off. Otherwise, I'll really break your hands."

With that, he stood up elegantly, took a tissue from his pocket to wipe his hands, and tossed it onto Daphne's face before turning to leave.

Adeline noticed that Daphne had both arms dislocated, hanging limply at her sides. She narrowed her eyes silently.

This man looked gentle and refined, but his actions were ruthless!

After Oliver left, Adeline quickly pulled Mia back into the room. Not knowing how to help someone with a dislocated arm, she took out her phone to contact a nearby clinic.

Mia took a deep breath and impatiently began questioning Daphne. "Daphne, I know you remember me. Years ago, you took my child for two hundred thousand dollars."

Outside, Oliver had just opened his car door when he heard Mia's words.

Two hundred thousand dollars? A child?

Oliver's lips curled into a mocking smile as he got into the car. While researching, he had seen that Mia had lived a poor and difficult life. But he hadn't expected her to sell her child.

Having Joseph made him despise people who sold their children for profit even more. He hadn't expected the once-glamorous Mia to have done such a thing.

Disgusting.

"Ms. White, I don't know what you're talking about."

Inside, Daphne responded, not daring to meet Mia's eyes.

Mia bit her lip. "What nonsense are you talking about! You personally took my child back then, saying the father forced you to take the child! Now you're pretending to be innocent, pretending not to remember. Do you think I'm easy to fool?"

She bit her lip, glanced at Daphne's dislocated arms, and kicked her thigh. "You cower in front of that man, but act clueless with me. Do you think I won't do anything to you?"

Mia's high-heeled foot struck Daphne's thigh, causing her to cry out in pain. With her arms dislocated and her body bound, she could only bend over and apologize. "Ms. White, I really don't know! In our line of work, we destroy evidence after each deal. I couldn't keep a client's information for six years!"

Mia didn't listen. She kicked Daphne again, making her finally relent. "Ms. White, I really don't remember. I only recall the other party seemed to be from abroad, from Oceancrest City, the capital of Solstice."

Mia narrowed her eyes and kicked again. This time, Daphne could only cry and apologized.

It seemed she really had no more information to offer.

Mia rubbed her temples. Oceancrest City, the capital of Solstice. This clue was better than nothing, but finding a six-year-old child in such a large city was like finding a needle in a haystack.

Thinking of this, she couldn't help but kick Daphne again. This time, Daphne could only cry.

Seeing her like this, Adeline sighed and stopped Mia. "That's enough."

They were here to gather information, not to beat people up. Besides, if Mia seriously injured Daphne, someone as opportunistic as her would definitely find ways to cling to Mia, making it harder for her to shake off.

Adeline's words made Mia glare at Daphne one last time before leaving with Adeline.

Once outside, they saw the black Cayenne still parked in the yard.

As they came out, the driver's door opened, and the tall, elegant man stepped out. "Ladies."

Mia glared at him. "Why are you still here?"

Oliver smirked, "Don't worry, I wasn't eavesdropping on Ms. White's past of selling her child."

Mia glared at him. "You! None of your business!"

Even if she had been poor and desperate back then, she would never have sold her child! If she hadn't been weak from childbirth and if Thomas and Daphne hadn't forcibly taken the child, she would never have let her baby go!

"I really don't understand how someone could be so shameless as to sell their own child because of poverty." Oliver sneered. "But I'm not here to argue with you."

He turned to Adeline. "I have something to discuss with you."

Adeline gently patted Mia's hand, offering a comforting gesture. "If you're still asking about the woman in the photo, I have nothing to say."

Oliver smiled. "We've already identified the woman in the photo."

He looked at Adeline calmly. "I just want to ask if Jasper forcing Stella to her death had anything to do with you?"
