Chapter 894 I Naturally Have My Own Way

Adeline listened to Daisy's words in shock, her face full of disbelief.

But when Daisy mentioned Thomas, Adeline waited for a long time without hearing anything more.

She furrowed her brows and lowered her voice.

"What about Thomas?"

"I'm tired."

Daisy sighed, a faint smile tugging at her lips as she spoke her final words in a barely audible whisper.

"Zara's situation has nothing to do with Jasper. He's a good man."

With that, Daisy's head tilted to the side, and her labored breathing stopped.

Adeline lifted her head in shock, reaching out to check Daisy's breath.

There was none.

She stared blankly at Daisy's eyes, fixed on the ceiling, a strange sadness welling up inside her, and silent tears began to fall.

It wasn't that she couldn't bear to part with Daisy; Daisy had brought this upon herself.

Adeline was mourning the fragility of life.

Jasper called for the doctor and walked over to pull the tearful Adeline into his arms.

Adeline didn't push him away.

She lay in his embrace, feeling his familiar warmth, silently sobbing.

Daisy was gone.

She hadn't even had the chance to ask Daisy about Patty.

Nor had she asked what Tamsin had made Thomas do all those years ago.

The news of Daisy's car accident death was widely reported by the media.

In a café, Tamsin, wearing sunglasses and a mask, stirred her coffee while watching the news on TV.

Before long, a bald man with a full beard walked in.

This was Albert, who had previously helped Oliver.

He had once been a notorious gang leader in Oceancrest City.

But after David arrived in Oceancrest City, Albert's gang was subdued by David.

His followers scattered, leaving Albert alone, forcing him to return to his old trade as a hitman, staging various accidental deaths.

Daisy's death was his doing.

Albert swaggered into the café and sat down in front of Tamsin.

"So, are you satisfied?"

Tamsin smirked and pushed a check towards Albert.

"Very satisfied, but you need to be careful. I've heard that Oliver and Jasper are both investigating Daisy's death. This woman was involved in too many things; no one will believe it was just an accident."

Albert glanced at the check and laughed smugly.

"Don't worry. Staging car accidents is my specialty."

"Over twenty years ago, I did a similar job. The victim's identity was also special, and my method was exactly the same as today."

"It's been over twenty years, and they still haven't traced it back to me. What's there to fear?"

Tamsin narrowed her eyes.

"But you should still lay low for a while. Jasper and Oliver are both sharp."

Besides, Oliver had just had a huge fight with her, and then Daisy died.

Tamsin was afraid Oliver would find out she was involved.

Seeing Tamsin's cautious demeanor, Albert sneered and pretended to agree, taking the check and turning to leave.

But after a few steps, he came back.

"By the way, take this. It was found on Daisy. It might be useful to you."

He handed Tamsin a DNA test report.

Tamsin furrowed her brows and took the report.

When she saw the information on it, a cold smile crept onto her lips.

She had been worried about what to do if Adeline listened to Oliver and refused to cooperate with her.

Unexpectedly, Daisy had given her a great gift before dying!

Patty was Daisy and Brandon's child.

Tamsin narrowed her eyes and took out her phone.

"Verity, get some bodyguards and come with me to Daisy's villa."

As long as she could get this child from Brandon, she wouldn't have to worry about Adeline listening to her!

But Tamsin didn't expect that when she and Verity arrived at Daisy and Brandon's rented villa, it was already empty.

Verity searched the villa thoroughly but found no one.

She anxiously returned to Tamsin.

"What now?"

Tamsin narrowed her eyes.

"If no one's living here, then burn it down."

Jasper and Oliver were planning to investigate Daisy's death?

She would give them a lead!

Daisy had just died, and Brandon disappeared with the child, burning down their home.

Could there be a more suspicious target?

Verity understood Tamsin's plan.

She frowned, "What about Adeline?"

Having a DNA test report without the child named Patty, would Adeline really listen to them?

Tamsin smirked and glanced at Verity.

"I have my ways."

Originally, Adeline and Oliver wanted to hand Daisy's body over to Brandon for him to handle the arrangements.

After all, Daisy was married now, and her closest person should be Brandon, not her adoptive family.

But no matter how hard Adeline and Oliver tried, they couldn't reach Brandon.

It was as if he had vanished into thin air.

"That Brandon is a real piece of work!"

Standing in front of Daisy's tombstone, Saul cursed angrily.

Even if Brandon and Daisy had no feelings for each other, Daisy had given him a daughter.

Now that Daisy had died in an accident, Brandon didn't show up and disappeared with the child.

Daisy was his wife, yet he left her funeral arrangements to the Phoebe family, who had no relation to her anymore!

Oliver sighed and gently patted Saul's shoulder, signaling him to stop.

Though Daisy had done many bad things in the Phoebe family, she had accompanied Zara and Howard for many years before Adeline returned.

Holding a white flower, Adeline stood in front of Daisy's tombstone and solemnly placed it there.

"I promised you I would take your ashes back to Neon City and bury you with Molly. I won't break that promise. The person taking your ashes back is already on their way."

"But your child Patty is still in Oceancrest City, so I've left a tombstone for you here. When Patty grows up and misses you, she can come to visit."

With that, she bowed deeply to Daisy's tombstone, took one last look at the black-and-white photo, and turned to leave.

"Ms. Phoebe is so thoughtful."

On the way back, Saul couldn't stop praising Adeline.

"If it were me, I wouldn't have thought to send Daisy's ashes back home and leave a tombstone here for her daughter to remember her."

Adeline smiled bitterly.

"You wouldn't think of it because Lorenzo is always by your side."

"If you were like me, separated from your child, you would think of it too."

"Sometimes, when I can't sleep, I think if I die, I'll separate my tombstone and ashes. One in Radiance Springs for my children to visit, and one in Oceancrest City with my family."

Her words made Oliver frown slightly.

He glanced at Adeline.

"So, you're never planning to go back to Radiance Springs with Jasper, are you?"
