Chapter 521 The Pavilion Nearest the Water Enjoys Moonlight First
Jasper spun around, his intense eyes locked onto Luna's face. "If Adeline hadn't figured out what you were up to yesterday and added extra crushed peanuts to the cashew shrimp, do you know what would've happened?"
He moved closer, his voice as cold and sharp as his stare. "You prepared that drug. You know it could've killed her!"
Jasper grabbed Luna's chin, his gaze icy. "I grew up without a mom, and my dad was never around. My grandma raised me. She never liked Adeline or any girl around me, but even if she targeted them, they never thought of hurting an old lady in her eighties! Luna, I thought you were kind and gentle. How could you do this? You went after Adeline and dared to mess with Lily. If I don't send you away, who'll be your next victim?"
Jasper shoved Luna away. "You saved Blake, so the Foster family owes you. I won't announce our breakup or that you've moved out. I'll give you that last bit of dignity. But if you think this is no big deal and don't see your mistake, I'll send you back abroad, where you belong!"
With that, Jasper turned and walked away.
Luna bit her lip, jumped up from the sofa, and ran to grab Jasper's arm. "Jasper!"
Tears streamed down her face. "Jasper, you can't do this to me. You promised you'd stay with me until the end. I'm sick; you can't."
Jasper shook off her hand, not even looking back. "Luna, if you weren't terminally ill and if I hadn't promised you, do you think I'd still be here? Do you think you'd still be staying in a hotel under my name? The Foster family owes you, but not enough to risk my grandma's life! If you behave from now on, I'll keep our breakup private. Otherwise, you know the consequences!"
With that, Jasper strode away.
Watching him leave, Luna couldn't keep up her act. She collapsed to the ground.
How did this happen? Luna had planned everything perfectly. Why did Adeline figure out she would drug Lily and prepare so much in advance? Today, she should've been fanning the flames in front of Jasper, taking care of Lily while sending Adeline to jail.
Luna picked up the phone and dialed a number. "My plan was perfect. How did it leak? Did your people tip off Adeline?"
The woman on the other end of the line laughed.
Molly was sitting by the floor-to-ceiling window of a hotel, playing with her coffee, her voice elegant and cold. "You treated Adeline like an idiot. How can you blame me? I only gave you the drug. I never said Adeline was a fool you could easily manipulate. Instead of blaming me, why don't you look in the mirror and see how foolish you are."
Molly yawned and said nonchalantly, "Luna, you know Dr. Smith's team says you only have a year left. Almost two months have already passed. If you don't hurry up and get pregnant with Jasper's kid, when the time comes and you're not dead, no one can save you."
With that, Molly coldly hung up the phone.
After ending the call, Molly gently placed the phone beside her, and a small child's hand took it.
Bennett carefully wiped the screen of the woman's phone and then placed it in a wooden compartment on the table.
Watching Bennett's actions, Molly took a satisfied sip of her coffee. "Liam, where did you go last night when it was pouring rain?"
Bennett lowered his eyes and respectfully replied, "I had Sebastian take me out for a walk. You said Radiance Springs is dangerous, and I shouldn't be seen by others. But I'm still a six-year-old kid and naturally curious. So last night, when it was late and raining heavily, I had Sebastian take me out.."
Molly nodded slightly. "Don't do it again."
Bennett nodded seriously.
After a moment of hesitation, Bennett asked, "The couple we saw before, the ones whose son looks exactly like me, what is your relationship with them?"
Molly squinted her eyes, looking out the floor-to-ceiling window at the bustling city below. "We are enemies."
Adeline finished washing up and went downstairs for breakfast.
After breakfast, she comfortably cleaned the house with Alice.
When everything was done, Adeline was lounging on the sofa eating fruit when she suddenly remembered her phone was still upstairs.
Since she had received a call from Luna early in the morning, Adeline even felt the phone was unlucky. So she had thrown it on the bedside table upstairs and ignored it.
It had been a few hours. When she picked up her phone again, there were over a dozen missed calls. Besides three or four from Luna, there were also calls from Violet and Mia. Mia had called the most, a total of ten times!
Adeline frowned and was about to call Mia back when Mia's call came in again.
"Finally, I got hold of you!" Mia's voice on the other end of the line was relieved. "If I couldn't find you, I was about to storm Blue Bay!"
Mia said, "Adeline, do you remember you asked me to help you find Dr. Smith's medical team?"
As soon as she heard that, Adeline perked up. "What happened? Are they willing to come to Radiance Springs?"
"Of course!" Mia's voice even had a hint of laughter. "Adeline, do you think this is fate? It turns out the wealthy person who had previously booked Dr. Smith's team at a high price is from Radiance Springs! Dr. Smith has already brought his team to Radiance Springs and they are staying at my Aurora Grand Hotel! Do you want to come to see them?"
