Chapter 535 Maybe a Breakthrough

Outside the mental hospital.

In the black Maserati, Lauren crossed her arms and huddled angrily in the corner. "Blake, how could you do this! I didn't even get to talk to Mommy for a few more minutes!"

Not far from her, Blake was busy typing away on his laptop, completely ignoring Lauren.

This made Lauren even more upset. She snatched the laptop from Blake's arms. "Stop playing! Didn't you see how Mommy looked just now?"

Lauren bit her lip, tears welling up in her eyes. "Daddy lied! Mommy is not doing well here at all; I could tell just now! Blake, you're a bad person too! You won't let me spend more time with Mommy!"

Lauren had come here happily today; she thought Adeline was just sick. But upon arrival, she realized this place was not a hospital at all; it was practically a prison for Adeline!

Seeing Lauren like this, Blake sighed lightly. He took back the laptop and showed the message on the screen to Lauren.

Blake said, "I've already found out. Mommy was put in here because a team of internationally renowned doctors diagnosed her with a mental illness. In other words, Jasper genuinely believes Mommy has a mental illness, which is why he sent her here. And interestingly, this Dr. Smith not only issued a mental illness report for Mommy but also diagnosed Luna with a terminal illness."

Lauren's eyes widened instantly. "Both of these are fake!"

"Yes." Blake nodded, continuing to type on the laptop with a slight frown. "Don't forget our purpose for coming here today. We're not here to bond with Mommy; we're here to confirm her location and what she's been through."

Blake handed a pen and paper to Lauren. "You have a good memory and a solid foundation in art. Did you see the layout and structure inside clearly?"

Seeing Blake's serious expression, Lauren wiped her tears and nodded. "I do."

Lauren was about to draw it on the paper but was stopped by Blake.

Blake said, "Just a rough sketch, so Jasper won't get suspicious."

After saying this, Blake took a deep breath. "I've already contacted Mia and Vikram; they might have a rough idea of what's going on. Mommy probably didn't want us to worry too much, so she didn't tell us a lot of things."

Blake pulled up a photo on the laptop. "This lady is named Evelyn. We must contact her today. She has a good impression of Mommy and might be a breakthrough."

Lauren memorized Evelyn's appearance seriously and was about to say something when footsteps were heard outside.

The two kids exchanged a glance. Lauren returned to the edge of the car door; she was still pouting, pretending to doodle carelessly on the paper. While Blake quietly continued typing on the keyboard.

A weary Jasper opened the car door and got in. "Ryan, take us home."

"Yes, Mr. Foster." Ryan, who had been waiting outside for Jasper, opened the car door and got in.

The car started.

Lauren sat by the window, watching the mental hospital fade into the distance, her brows furrowing slightly. "Daddy, why took you so long? Were you talking to Mommy inside?"

The confrontation with Adeline had left Jasper physically and mentally exhausted.

He sighed lightly and pulled Lauren into his arms. "Yes. I was encouraging her to cooperate with the treatment so she can be discharged soon and take Lauren on a world tour."

Being held by Jasper, Lauren couldn't help but pout. "I don't want to travel the world. My biggest wish is to find Bennett with Mommy and Blake."

Hearing Lauren mention Bennett, Jasper's arm holding her paused slightly. He turned to look at Blake. "Do you also think Bennett isn't dead?"

Blake's fingers stopped typing. He looked deeply at Jasper. "If I say so, will Mr. Foster also think I'm talking nonsense and send me to a psychiatric hospital?"

Jasper's brows furrowed deeply. "I'll say it again, your Mommy was sent here for treatment because she has a mental illness."

Blake smiled. "Mr. Foster, do you really believe those doctors' diagnosis of Mommy is correct?"

Jasper nodded. "Dr. Smith has been practicing for over forty years, diagnosing hundreds of thousands of patients without a single misdiagnosis. How could his diagnosis be wrong?"

Blake squinted his eyes. Scott really hid well. Blake sighed, closed the laptop, and finally looked up at Jasper. "I heard there's a new water park at Radiance Springs; it's really interesting. I want to take Lauren there before summer ends."

Jasper was a bit surprised. Blake was always quiet and steady. Every time they went out to play, it was Lauren's idea. This was the first time Blake had suggested taking Lauren out to play.

Probably seeing through Jasper's confusion, Blake smiled lightly. "Lauren felt very upset after seeing Mommy in pain, so I want to take her to relax."

Jasper hesitated for a moment, then he had Ryan turn the car around. The kids were too worried about Adeline. Letting them play for a while to distract them might be good. Moreover, the water park was part of Mia's Aurora Grand Hotel, so the kids could rest at the hotel after playing, which was very convenient.

After arriving at the Aurora Grand Hotel, Jasper arranged for Tim and Tom to stay with the kids and then he went back to the office to work.

Blake and Lauren seemed to be playing at the water park, but in reality, they were searching for their target, Evelyn.

Around three or four in the afternoon, they found Evelyn by the pool. The two kids approached Evelyn under the pretense of not being able to open a soda bottle; they charmed her with their politeness.

Evelyn enjoyed their company and treated them to ice cream. The three of them watched the sunset by the pool.

Evelyn was curious. "Just the two of you out playing? Where are your parents?"

Blake sighed. "Our dad is very busy and rarely takes care of us. We're always with Mommy."

Lauren wiped away a tear. "Unfortunately, our Mommy, who isn't even sick, was actually locked up in a mental hospital. I've said it many times, Mommy isn't sick, but Daddy doesn't believe me. He even showed a certificate from an expert saying she's mentally ill! Without Mommy, we can't even open a soda bottle!"

Evelyn's sympathy was stirred by the kids' tears. Evelyn said coldly, "How can this be? Your mother is not ill, yet they still insist she is!"

"Exactly." Blake sighed and handed a photo of Adeline to Evelyn. "Look, our Mommy never looks like a mental patient, right?"

Evelyn angrily took the photo. "Adeline?"
