Chapter 839 Go Find Jasper
Jasper squinted his eyes.
Just moments ago, these people were chasing the car like they had nothing to lose.
If he hadn't used his own car to block those vehicles at the last second, the RV would have definitely been wrecked.
His arm had been cut open from the collision.
It seemed Brandon was starting to catch on.
Thinking of this, he turned to Ryan and said, "Speed up the attack on the Torres family. Don't give Brandon a chance to breathe."
"And set up a meeting with Howard tomorrow evening, before Brandon and Daisy's wedding."
Ryan hesitated, then gently reminded him, "But sir, Howard probably won't agree to see you."
Jasper chuckled softly, "He'll see me whether he wants to or not."
The sun was setting.
Adeline had invited Jasper and Sebastian to dinner at Lucky Restaurant.
When Adeline and Sebastian arrived, Jasper and Ryan were already waiting in a private room.
Ryan seemed to be giving Jasper a report.
Seeing Adeline and Sebastian, Ryan quickly stopped and greeted them before leaving in a hurry.
Once Ryan left, Sebastian smiled and sat across from Jasper. "Mr. Foster, it's been a while."
Jasper smiled slightly. "Yeah, it's been a while."
Adeline called the waiter to order.
Sebastian started chatting with Jasper about the kids.
Over the past six months, Sebastian had been most concerned about Bennett.
Even though Bennett wasn't his biological child, the experiences they had shared had forged a deep bond.
In his heart, he had long considered the Bennett family.
Adeline listened carefully while ordering.
In the past eight months, she had only been in contact with Lauren and knew little about Blake and Bennett's situation.
She couldn't help but worry.
But she knew she shouldn't reach out to the kids, not wanting them to think she and Jasper might get back together.
Now, she finally had a chance to hear about the kids through Sebastian and Jasper's conversation.
It turned out the kids had been quite busy over the past eight months.
Blake had participated in a hacking competition, won first prize, and even became a guest lecturer at a university.
Bennett had used his charm and eloquence to become a teacher's assistant at the kindergarten, helping manage several classes of kids.
Almost every day, little girls would bring him cookies and cakes, hoping to be his future wife.
Adeline already knew about Lauren.
Over the past six months, Lauren had collaborated with the Foster Group's jewelry design department, working on several major projects with Lucia Garcia's help, and had received widespread acclaim.
"Miss?"
Suddenly, the waiter's voice pulled Adeline back to reality.
She quickly came to her senses. The waiter was holding the menu, asking her cautiously, "Is this all?"
Adeline nodded awkwardly. "Yes, that's enough."
She quickly picked up her coffee cup to hide her embarrassment at eavesdropping.
Jasper and Sebastian noticed her actions.
They exchanged a glance and couldn't help but smile.
After discussing the kids, the two started talking about their own experiences over the past six months.
Adeline felt like an invisible person.
She had never imagined Jasper and Sebastian would chat like old friends.
The scene before her was surprising.
Soon, dinner was coming to an end.
Aside from a few words of thanks to Jasper, Adeline couldn't get a word in between Sebastian and Jasper.
She felt a bit frustrated but also relieved.
At least Jasper hadn't taken the opportunity to say anything inappropriate, like he had on the phone that afternoon.
After dinner, the three of them left the restaurant together.
While going downstairs, Adeline accidentally missed a step.
Jasper was on her left, and Sebastian on her right.
But for some reason, despite being right-handed, she instinctively reached out with her left hand and grabbed Jasper's arm.
Jasper's usually strong and lean arm felt oddly soft.
It seemed to be wrapped in something.
This sensation made Adeline look up instinctively.
Jasper's brows were furrowed, and he gave her a cold look. "Let go."
His icy tone and attitude made Adeline feel like she had fallen into an ice pit.
She instinctively let go.
"Take care of her. She's so clumsy."
Throwing this cold remark to Sebastian, Jasper didn't even glance at Adeline before striding downstairs and leaving.
Neither Adeline nor Sebastian noticed the man's face turning pale as he walked away.
Adeline had grabbed right onto his freshly stitched wound.
When she lost her balance, she had used a lot of force to steady herself.
Jasper could already feel his wound starting to bleed.
So he couldn't stay near her for long.
As he walked, he lowered his voice. "Ryan, get me a doctor."
Ryan knew the damage Adeline's grab had caused Jasper.
He quickly nodded. "I'll arrange it right away."
Watching Jasper and Ryan leave, Adeline stood there in a daze for a long time.
She even forgot to ask why Jasper's arm felt that way.
"Are you okay?"
The sudden change left Sebastian puzzled.
He frowned and grabbed Adeline's arm. "Let's go back."
Adeline glanced in Jasper's direction, feeling conflicted.
She hadn't done anything to offend him.
Why was he so cold?
From Lucky Restaurant back to the small courtyard, Adeline couldn't stop thinking about Jasper's cold face.
She replayed every move she and Sebastian had made after arriving at the restaurant, but still couldn't figure out why Jasper had treated her that way.
Back at the courtyard, Adeline and Sebastian video-called Clio.
After confirming that Zara was safe and everything was normal, Adeline finally felt relieved.
"Actually, our journey wasn't entirely smooth."
On the other end of the call, Clio hesitated for a moment before speaking up.
"On the road from Oceancrest City to Everglade City, we were targeted by a convoy."
Adeline and Sebastian both froze.
Sebastian anxiously furrowed his brows. "Were you hurt?"
"I wasn't hurt."
Clio shook her head, then turned to Adeline.
"But the Mr. Foster who was escorting us seemed to have a serious injury on his right arm."
Hearing this, Adeline instantly stiffened.
If she remembered correctly,
If she remembered correctly, when she missed a step at Lucky Restaurant, she had grabbed Jasper's right arm.
Thinking of this, she didn't even stop to think and immediately stood up and headed out the door.
Sebastian frowned. "Where are you going?"
"To find Jasper!"
