Chapter 628 He Has Manners?
Adeline didn't expect Jasper to wake up right then. She froze for a second, then looked up to meet Jasper's tired eyes.
Adeline bit her lip, "When did you wake up?"
"Just now." Jasper shifted a bit, and Adeline quickly helped him lean against the headboard, then handed him the water sitting beside him. "So, you plan to let Molly move in, make her think our relationship is on the rocks, and she has a shot?"
Jasper, who was drinking water, chuckled at Adeline's words. He put down the glass and gently brushed Adeline's lower lip with his hand. "Do you think our relationship is all patched up?"
Jasper's rough fingertip against her soft lips sent a shiver through her, making her face turn red. She pulled his hand away, "When did I say we made up?"
He looked at her with a deep, unreadable gaze and chuckled, "If we hadn't made up, how could it fall apart?"
Jasper's words left Adeline a bit stunned. She realized she had misspoken. She pursed her lips and looked at Jasper with a bit of helplessness. "I mean, you want her to think our relationship is bad so she can take advantage of it."
Jasper chuckled softly and didn't keep teasing her, just nodding lightly. "Your reaction to Bennett's mistreatment today and your desire to break up with me when I agreed to let Molly move in makes your stance pretty clear. At this point, she would naturally think she can wreck our relationship."
He looked into Adeline's eyes. "Letting her move in and cling to me is smarter than leaving her outside, where she keeps threatening Bennett to get her way."
Adeline paused, still feeling like his plan wasn't great. But she couldn't think of a better one.
Adeline took a deep breath and stood up. "I'll go downstairs to get you some chicken soup and have Alice bring it up."
Jasper leaned against the headboard, his eyes faintly watching her back. "Adeline. Can you bring it up yourself and feed me?"
Jasper's deep voice made Adeline freeze, like all the blood in her body stopped flowing. She sighed, "Can't Alice do it?"
"No," Jasper's piercing gaze bore into her back. "After Molly moves in tomorrow, you and I will be at odds. Can't you give me a little bit of tenderness one last time?"
Jasper's words made Adeline involuntarily smile. She nodded. "Alright."
A few minutes later, when she brought the chicken soup upstairs, Jasper was leaning against the headboard, waiting for her like a well-behaved child. Seeing her come in, Jasper smiled.
Adeline looked at him but said nothing. However, her actions of feeding him the chicken soup were exceptionally gentle. After finishing a bowl of chicken soup, Jasper looked up into her eyes. "Adeline. Once Molly's matter is resolved and Bennett's memory is restored. Let's have another wedding, okay?"
Adeline's hand holding the chicken soup paused slightly. She turned her face away. "I never agreed to marry you."
Jasper glanced at her bulging pocket. "The marriage certificate is in your hands."
He chuckled, looking at her profile, "You rushed to the press conference with our marriage certificates without a second thought. If I hadn't shown up in time, you'd not only be Mrs. Foster now but also be facing public scorn. Since you were all in back then, why act like you didn't agree to marry me now?"
Adeline's face turned crimson at his words. She put down the chicken soup and took the marriage certificate out of her pocket, shoving it back into his hands. "Take them back; I don't want them."
Blushing, Adeline left with the empty bowl in hand after saying that.
The door to the room closed again.
Jasper's smile widened as he held the marriage certificate.
The next day.
At seven in the morning, the doorbell of Blue Bay rang.
Adeline, in the kitchen preparing breakfast for everyone, frowned. She knew Molly was moving in today, but this early? She hadn't even finished making breakfast.
Alice, who was cleaning, quickly went to open the door. To Adeline's surprise, Lily was standing outside instead of Molly and the reporters.
At this moment, Lily, supported by Nathan and Brenda, slowly walked in. Seeing the three of them enter, Adeline bit her lip.
She knew their purpose clearly. They were here to ask her and Jasper to drop the charges and have the police release Rex.
However, Adeline was a bit surprised to see Lily who had previously insisted on kicking Nathan and Rex out of the Foster family. She thought Lily was a reasonable person.
Unexpectedly, in just one day, Lily came here supported by Nathan and Brenda. After sitting on the sofa, Lily quickly waved to Adeline, "Adeline, come here."
Adeline paused, took off her apron, and walked over. After Adeline sat down, Lily got straight to the point. "You should know why I'm here, right? Although I never wanted to admit Rex as my grandson and wanted to kick Nathan out of the Foster family, they are both Foster family blood. They are inseparable family members."
As soon as Lily finished speaking, the elevator door in the villa opened. Blake and Lauren slowly pushed Jasper's wheelchair out of the elevator, one on each side.
Jasper looked pale, but his eyes were still indifferent and arrogant. "Adeline will not drop the charges. I don't need such a father, nor do I need such a brother."
Seeing Jasper's firm attitude, Lily sighed, "But Jasper, besides Grandma, they are your only family. Are you really going to be so heartless?"
Jasper smirked, "Grandma, have you forgotten? I have three children and Adeline. Why would I need these two shameless family members?"
Jasper's words finally made Nathan angry. He stood up and pointed angrily at Jasper's face. "I am your father! Watch your manners! How dare you call me shameless!"
Jasper leaned back in the wheelchair, laughing arrogantly. "Manners? Mr. Nathan Foster, in all these years before I met Adeline, did I even have a family? My mother passed away, and you never raised me for a single day. And now you talk about manners?"
After saying that, he turned his gaze. "Rex had both parents by his side since childhood. Does he have manners?"
