Chapter 199 Why Don't You Dodge!

Adeline knew that Ronald's words were intentionally spoken for her to hear.

But she had to admit that these words did indeed have an impact on her.

Even if Jasper thought she was not at fault, and even if Stella apologized to her, what did it matter?
In his heart, Stella was still the most important one.

Adeline felt lost.

She took a deep breath, held onto her documents, and walked directly past Ronald, striding into the factory.

Ronald behind her sneered coldly and caught up in two or three steps. "Ms. Wilson, I heard you're still single. Seeing Mr. Foster and Ms. Foster so sweet, are you particularly envious?" As long as you're willing, I'll be by your side!"

Adeline couldn't be bothered to even look at him, she quickened her pace and walked into the factory.

As she walked faster, Ronald also quickened his steps.

All the way, he kept chattering behind her.

Adeline was annoyed but didn't want to cause trouble.

She knew Ronald was doing it on purpose.

Just like at the car door earlier, Ronald deliberately wanted to provoke her, disgust her.

Even if she got angry, following Jasper's handling just now, she couldn't do anything to him, but would only make him more arrogant.

So, Adeline simply ignored him.

When Adeline caught up with Jasper and Stella, they had already started touring the workshop.
Adeline held her documents and pen, chatting with the workshop director while clearly recording the materials that could be processed and provided in the factory.

When Adeline worked, she was so focused that she couldn't hear the sounds outside, her mind filled with the professional data the workshop director shared with her.

So, she naturally didn't notice the admiration in Jasper's eyes or the resentment in Stella's eyes.
She also didn't notice the large piece of rough stone flying toward her from a distance and the shouts of the workers behind her.

"Be careful!"

Just as the jadeite stone was about to hit her, Jasper, who had been watching her from the side, rushed over and pushed her aside.

The stone hit Jasper's arm squarely.

"Jasper!" Stella didn't care much, she rushed over and grabbed Jasper's arm. "Are you okay?"
The man's brows furrowed deeply.

He turned his gaze to Adeline with displeasure. "Are you deaf? People have been shouting for so long behind you, can't you hear?"

His low voice carried reproach and concern.

Adeline was pushed and scolded by him, she looked up and saw the stone that had fallen on the ground, and Jasper tightly holding his arm.

She was stunned.

The workers ran over, picked up the stone, and apologized repeatedly, "Sorry, this stone flew out when we were unloading the stones, we're really sorry."

Stella gritted her teeth. "Is sorry useful? My husband's arm was hit!"

She glared at Adeline with resentment, then turned her gaze back to the worker, "If this stone had hit someone else, it would be one thing, but now it hit my husband, this can't just be overlooked! His arm is more precious than anyone else's here!"

The worker frowned as he held the stone, glanced at Adeline, "But this stone was aimed at this lady, your husband rushed in himself... Although we are also at fault, it's not all our fault..."

Stella's face turned pale.

She gritted her teeth and glared fiercely at the worker. "How dare you argue back? Do you believe I'll fire you now..."

Before she could finish her sentence, Stella suddenly remembered her current identity...

Now, in front of Jasper, she was not the heir of the Evelyn's family, she had no right to deal with the Evelyn's family factory.

So, she coldly stared at the workshop director beside her. "You handle this matter for me!"

The workshop director didn't understand why Ms. Foster's words sounded so much like the heir of the Evelyn's family.

But he nodded. "Of course!"

After getting his assurance, Stella glanced at Adeline. "What are you still standing there for? He shielded you from the stone, and you're not coming to help?"

Adeline paused, then turned around and went to support Jasper's other arm.

Although the stone hitting his arm didn't injure any tendons or bones, it still looked serious.

Serious enough that Jasper, a reserved man emotionally, involuntarily used his left hand to cover his right arm, his brows furrowed tightly.

Adeline supported him, feeling conflicted.

She didn't know why Jasper had chosen to rush over, and she didn't know if she should feel sorry for him now, or...

"Follow me."

The workshop director anxiously led the way ahead.

After arriving at the clinic, the doctor there took off Jasper's black jacket.

Once the jacket was removed, Adeline and Stella saw that blood had seeped through the man's white shirt on the right sleeve.

The doctor furrowed his brow and rolled up his shirt sleeve.

The wound caused by the stone was shocking to see.

Stella screamed.

Stella looked at Jasper's wound with distress, then glared at Adeline's face uncontrollably. "It's all your fault!"

She was about to walk up to Adeline and slap her.

But just as she took two steps, Jasper stopped her.

The man used his uninjured left hand to block Stella's path, "This was an accident, not her fault."

Stella bit her lip. "But Jasper, if she had heard the workers' voices just now, if she had heard our voices, she could have dodged it! If she had dodged it, how could you have been injured like this?"

Jasper smiled wryly. "She's so clumsy, she couldn't have dodged it."

Although there was a hint of belittlement in the man's words, there was more indulgence toward Adeline.

Stella glared fiercely at Adeline. "If Jasper's arm has any problems in the future, if there are any lasting effects, I won't spare you!"

Adeline stood still and said nothing.

"It's lucky it didn't hit the bone."

The doctor sighed, and after the examination, he began to administer local anesthesia to Jasper and suture the wound.

The workshop director apologized earnestly to Jasper, "Mr. Foster, this was a mistake on our part. Mr. Foster, rest assured, I will definitely investigate this matter, find out whose responsibility it is, and hold them accountable."

Stella snorted. "Responsibility must be pursued. But the biggest responsibility lies with Adeline in this matter!"

She swept her eyebrows and glared fiercely at Adeline, "You did it on purpose! Although Jasper made me apologize to you just now, in the end, he was consoling me! You must be jealous, that's why you didn't dodge on purpose, you wanted him to get hurt!"
