Chapter 591 Do You Consider Yourself a Qualified Father?
Jasper's stare was intense and icy.
Violet, freaked out by his look, quickly ducked behind Adeline, stammering, "Adeline's been with me the whole time, I swear."
Jasper gave Violet a cold glance from behind Adeline, then turned to Adeline. "Did you two plan what to say to me before coming here?"
He then shot a frosty look at Ryan. "Go grab a couple of bottles of makeup remover."
Violet was stunned. She instinctively looked at Adeline, whose scars were expertly concealed beneath layers of makeup. How did Jasper know?
Adeline frowned, stopping Ryan, and looked at Jasper helplessly. "Do you really want me to take off my makeup here?"
Jasper squinted. "I just don't like heavy makeup."
Adeline took a deep breath. She knew it wasn't just about the makeup.
She leaned in closer to Jasper, her voice a barely audible whisper, "I don't want to complicate things. Remember our goal tonight."
Rex's issue could wait. Tonight was all about Molly.
Adeline was sure Molly would try to crash their engagement party. So, she had Jasper's people guarding all the main entrances.
Whether Molly came disguised as a guest or staff, the guards would spot her. Then they could handle Molly. That way, Bennett and Sebastian would be safe.
Once they found them, the next step was helping Bennett get his memory back.
So, she didn't even care about being kidnapped. The first thing she did after getting out of that abandoned warehouse was rush to the wedding venue.
Jasper squinted at Adeline's face. "You think I can't handle looking for Molly and dealing with this? You underestimate me?"
He then glanced at Nathan's family of three in the distance, catching Rex's anxious look at Adeline.
When their eyes met, panic flashed in Rex's eyes, and he quickly looked away, avoiding Jasper's gaze.
Jasper smirked coldly. He had already figured it out.
Besides Molly, the only one who could try to stop Adeline from attending the engagement was Rex.
He wheeled himself quickly to Nathan and Rex. Adeline panicked and followed. "Jasper."
Seeing Jasper approach, Nathan smiled calmly. "I've thought it over. I shouldn't interfere in your marriage."
He continued, "Don't worry, we're here to give our blessings, not cause trouble."
Jasper smirked coldly. "Really?"
His gaze landed on Rex's pale face. "You harm my fiancée before the ceremony, and then you come to the engagement party to give blessings?"
Rex's face changed instantly.
Nathan instinctively shielded Rex. "Jasper, what are you talking about? Rex has been with us all day. When did he harm Adeline?"
Nathan turned to Adeline. "Did you see Rex doing anything he shouldn't have?"
Adeline narrowed her eyes. It was clear Nathan knew what Rex had done; otherwise, he wouldn't be defending him so fiercely.
And he obviously knew Rex was wearing a mask when he kidnapped her.
The thought sent a chill down Adeline's spine. Nathan was actually okay with his illegitimate son kidnapping his own son's fiancée and acted like it was no big deal.
This man was Jasper's biological father!
"Alright," Brenda quickly stepped in to mediate. "Today is Jasper and Adeline's engagement party. Let's not argue over such trivial matters."
She added, "Even if Rex did something to Adeline, as long as she wasn't hurt, it doesn't matter. Just consider it a joke between family members."
She smiled at Adeline. "You look so beautiful with makeup!"
Adeline narrowed her eyes and stayed silent. If she wasn't the main character tonight, she would have wiped off her makeup right then and shown them the marks on her face.
Jasper squinted and smiled. "Who said we are family?"
He pulled out his phone. "Ryan, get them out."
Nathan immediately shouted, "Jasper, how dare you!"
His voice was loud, drawing the attention of everyone around.
Adeline frowned and quickly grabbed Jasper's hand. "Let it go."
"Are you just going to let go of the injuries you suffered and the beatings you took?" Jasper asked.
Jasper squinted and looked at Rex indifferently. "If you want me to let it go, it's not impossible. Hit yourself the same way."
His voice lowered, and the aura he exuded made it hard for people to breathe. "Otherwise, I have the power to make sure you three can never set foot in Radiance Springs again."
Nathan frowned. "How dare you! I am your father!"
"How can I respect a father who has never given me any warmth, only pointed fingers at my life, and condoned his illegitimate son harming my fiancée?"
Jasper fearlessly met Nathan's gaze.
The entire venue fell silent. Everyone held their breath and watched. A father-son fallout at an engagement party, it was high-society drama!
Nathan's hands clenched into fists, his hoarse and aged voice trembling. "Jasper! No matter what, I am still your father who gave birth to you and raised you!"
Jasper curled his lips. "What kind of father just gives birth to me without raising me?"
The venue fell silent again.
Suddenly, the venue's door opened. Bennett, dressed in a black suit, walked in slowly holding a tablet. "What a spectacle."
He added, "But I want to ask Mr. Jasper Foster, since you say that just giving birth without raising doesn't make a father, you made my mother give birth to me, but forced her to leave, and now you're marrying another woman."
Bennett asked, "Do you consider yourself a qualified father?"
