Chapter 409 Let's Set Off Now
Adeline's fingers tightened slightly around her phone. "Are you Jasper's nephew?"
She knew that the caller, Vikram, was definitely the person she had just met. She just didn't expect him to be related to Jasper.
But it made sense. Blake was Jasper's son, so the chances of a match with bone marrow from Jasper's family were higher.
"Are you still there?" Seeing that Adeline hadn't spoken, Vikram asked again from the other end of the line.
"I'm here." Adeline took a deep breath and gripped her phone tightly. "It's lunchtime now. How about we have lunch together? I'm near the hospital."
Vikram was a bit surprised. "What a coincidence. I'm inside the hospital."
"I'm not from Radiance Springs; I'm not familiar with the area. You pick a place."
Adeline nodded. "The Serene Harbor restaurant across from the hospital. I'll wait for you there."
After speaking, she hung up , exhaled deeply, and turned to enter the Serene Harbor restaurant.
Not long after, Vikram arrived.
He pushed open the door to the private room and was momentarily stunned when he saw Adeline. "Have we met before?"
Adeline smiled. "You must be mistaken."
She then pointed to the seat opposite her. "Please have a seat."
Vikram frowned and thought, 'Am I mistaken?'
'Isn't she the same woman who was captivated by my charm and couldn't take her eyes off me on the thirteenth floor of the hospital just a moment ago?'
'Such a beautiful woman, I won't forget.'
'Since she doesn'twant to admit it, it is not necessary to expose her.' Vikram mused.
Vikram sat down and glanced at the table in front of him.
Adeline looked at the young and slightly immature Vikram trying to act cool and smiled faintly."Is there anything you want to do recently?"
Vikram's brows furrowed deeply.
He thought, 'What is she up to?I just want to visit Blake and curry favor with Jasper. Why is she asking about my wishes?'
Seeing Vikram's puzzled look, Adeline cleared her throat. "Don't get me wrong; I was just asking casually. You don't have to answer if you don't want to."
She was indeed a bit too eager.
Vikram squinted slightly, looking at Adeline's hesitant expression, and recalled how she had stared at him in the hospital. And what he had said to the doctor while she was watching.
Suddenly, Vikram understood.
He thought, 'Did Adeline think he was the one donating bone marrow to Blake?'
'Is that why she was being so polite, agreeing to let me visit Blake and asking about my wishes?'
Vikram couldn't help but smile at Adeline's beautiful face.
Since Luna couldn't let Adeline know, he might as well take Luna's place and become her benefactor.
After all, he knew how much Jasper cared about Adeline.
If he could win over Adeline, wouldn't everything else go more smoothly?
Thinking of this, Vikram sighed and shook his head helplessly, "There are two things I want to do recently, but I don't need both to be fulfilled. Just one would make me very happy."
He stared at Adeline's face. " The first thing is that I want to have a romantic relationship with a beautiful woman like Miss Wilson."
"The second is to get Jasper to invest in my new company."
After speaking, he smiled at Adeline. "Which one would you help me with?"
He said this on purpose.
He thought that as a mother of two children, with a child about to undergo surgery, Adeline would never choose to date a nineteen-year-old man.
So, he appeared to give Adeline a choice, but in reality, he was certain that she would choose the second option and help him get an investment from Jasper.
But to his surprise, Adeline looked up, smiled at him, and said, "I don't have to choose. I can try to help you with both."
Then, Adeline took a deep breath, lowered her head to eat, and said, "But I won't date you. You're too young for me."
"You're only nineteen, and my child is six."
"Besides, I promised someone I wouldn't date again."
"I have a friend at the Radiance Springs Plastic Surgery Hospital. I'll ask her to keep an eye out for suitable pretty girls for you."
"As for your company,"
Adeline paused. "Can I ask what type of company it is?"
Vikram stared blankly at Adeline. "It's a jewelry company."
"That's perfect." Adeline smiled. "I possess considerable knowledge in this area. You may present to me the concepts and plans of your company, and I shall assist you in strategizing."
"Although Jasper is cold-hearted, as long as your proposal can bring him enough benefits, he will agree. After all, he is a businessman."
Adeline's few words left Vikram speechless.
Adeline's sincerity made him feel hypocritical and shameless.
But he couldn't tell her the truth after making those requests.
Besides, if he told her he wasn't the donor, what if she asked for the donor's information? He had already promised Luna at the hospital not to reveal it.
Thinking of this, Vikram bit his lip. "Actually, this matter, I..."
"I'm a bit busy right now." Before he could finish, Adeline interrupted him coldly, "How about this? I'll have time after work tonight. Bring your company's materials to my house tonight. Didn't you want to visit Blake? You can visit him while I give you some advice."
Vikram was stunned, then nodded seriously. "Okay."

Adeline smiled. "Thank you."
After work in the afternoon, Adeline left on time for the first time.
Lucia looked at her in surprise. "Adeline, leaving so early today?"
"Yes." Adeline smiled gently. "I have a guest coming over tonight, so I need to go to the fresh market to buy some good food andget everything ready.."
After speaking, Adeline grabbed her bag and left in a good mood.
Sitting in the corner, Luna squinted slightly, took out her phone, and sent a message to Jasper.
Luna: [Jasper, wanna cook tonight.. Can you come with me to the fresh market?]
Jasper: [Sure, when?]
Luna: [Let's go now.]
