Chapter 251 Do You Want Me to Steal It Myself?
Adeline rushed forward and pushed Stella aside.
The frame of the photo shattered, with Stella's high heels piercing through Adeline's face in the photo.
Fortunately, Blake remained unscathed in the photo.
It was the last photo of her and Blake before she left.
Whenever she felt tired and weary, this photo reminded her to persevere.
Until now...
Adeline furrowed her brows and picked up the shattered photo.
The broken glass from the frame cut her finger.
Almost as if she didn't feel a thing, she wiped away the blood and carefully tucked the photo into her pocket.
"Adeline." At the door, the employees began to worry about her, hesitating whether to enter.
Seeing Adeline disoriented like this, Stella couldn't help but sneer, "It's just a photo with Bennett. Adeline, why do you pretend to be so pitiful? Why not take another one?"
"Bennett is at Blue Bay. If you want, I can have him take more photos with you. Stop acting like this."
Adeline looked up, her eyes red with anger. "Get out!"
Stella raised an eyebrow, "How dare you? Even if my current status is just an assistant, I am Jasper's wife."
"Even if you are Jasper's wife, you are still nothing but an assistant!" Adeline glared at Stella, her eyes full of fury. "Get out!"
Her patience had run out.
Before, Stella could act high and mighty in front of her because Adeline didn't care.
In just an office, a few papers were being thrown around.
As long as Stella was willing to come to work instead of staying at Blue Bay to trouble Bennett and Lauren, she could endure her.
But now, things were different.
"Adeline, watch your mouth!" Stella sneered, "You'll regret talking to me like this!"
Stella glared at her viciously. "When I get back to Blue Bay..."
"What do you want to do back in Blue Bay?" Jasper's voice suddenly cut through the tension.
"Mr. Foster!" The employees at the door instinctively turned to look, making way for Jasper as he strode into the office.
Stella was momentarily flustered.
After a pause, she tearfully rushed into Jasper's arms. "Jasper. Adeline was mean to me, and she told me to get out!"
"You asked me to come to work, so I came early in the morning; not knowing what to do, I just came to Adeline's office to wait for her. And I accidentally broke Adeline's photo frame, but she told me to get out." Stella spoke, still wiping her tears, "It's just a photo with Bennett, and she..."
Jasper furrowed his brows and coldly pulled Stella out of his embrace. "I heard all that you said."
Stella's body stiffened, "Jasper!"
Jasper glanced at her coldly, "Intentionally breaking things on someone's desk, and acting high and mighty with Mrs. Foster's identity. Is this what you meant by saying you would work well this morning?"
Stella's face turned pale in an instant. "Jasper, I..."
At the door, Ryan sighed, "Stella, say no more. Mr. Foster came down specifically to see you, saying it's rare that you're willing to contribute to the company by working here. And as soon as he came, he saw you breaking things in Adeline's office."
Stella finally bit her lip tightly. She didn't expect that Jasper had been here for so long.
"Adeline." Jasper strode up to Adeline, reaching out towards her. "Give me the photo."
Adeline furrowed her brows and took a step back silently.
She knew Jasper wanted the photo, perhaps to make amends for Stella, to have it repaired.
But it was her photo with Blake.
Jasper had seen this photo before, but it was only a glance.
If it had been carefully examined during the repair, she was afraid Jasper would have seen through it.
Jasper had no idea about Blake's existence.
However, Bennett and Lauren were forced to leave her side after Jasper discovered their identities. Adeline couldn't risk losing Blake, too.
"I just want to help you." Jasper furrowed his brows and took another step forward.
Adeline subconsciously shook her head, "I can handle it myself."
"Adeline!" Jasper frowned, "Do I need to take it by force?"
Adeline hesitated, looking up at him.
In Jasper's deep, unreadable eyes, a mix of complex emotions was evident.
Adeline bit her lip and remained silent for a while before finally taking out the photo and handing it to him.
The photo was stained with her blood, which had almost dyed the entire photo red.
In the photo, Adeline and Bennett were together.
The high heel had pierced Adeline's face in the photo.
And the Bennett beside her looked different.
Just like the photo Jasper had seen at Adeline's Willowcrest Terrace long ago, the Bennett in the photo looked pale, but his expression was much more mature and serious.
Jasper narrowed his eyes. Wondering if it was an illusion, he suddenly had a feeling that the little boy in the photo wasn't Bennett but someone else.
After a moment, he dismissed his thought.
How could it be?
Bennett and Lauren were twins, and there couldn't be another child like him.
Sighing, Jasper put the photo away. "If this photo is really so important to you, I will have someone repair it."
After Jasper spoke, his gaze lingered on Adeline's cut finger. "Are you okay?"
Adeline hesitated, quickly hiding her still-bleeding hand. "I'm fine."
Jasper looked at her deeply once more, wanting to say something, but ultimately said nothing.
Finally, Jasper left.
"Ryan." Just a few steps out, Jasper suddenly stopped in his tracks.
"Mr. Foster," Ryan spoke respectfully.
"Get a first aid kit. Help Adeline treat the cut on her finger. And find someone who knows how to repair photos to come over." Jasper instructed.
"Yes, sir," Ryan responded.
After arranging everything, Jasper turned and gave Stella a cold look. "My office, now."
Stella's hands were tightly clenched together as she quietly followed him.
She had never expected that, instead of working in the office, Jasper would come to the design department to see her performance today.
If she had known Jasper would come, she would never have shown off in front of Adeline!
The two of them took the elevator together and went to the top floor.
After closing the door, Jasper sat coldly in his chair, his gaze indifferent as he looked at Stella's face. "Seeking Adeline for trouble early in the morning, are you unhappy with my decision to have you work at the company?"
