Chapter 375 Sooner or Later, We Have to Meet
The once clear sky suddenly became overcast. It started to drizzle. A cold wind blew, and Adeline staggered slightly, almost losing her balance.
She grabbed the ornate railing of the estate to steady herself.
At this moment, Luna turned her head. When their eyes met, Adeline felt a wave of confusion; she had seen her before.
Yesterday at the mall, when Thomas and Mia were picking out rings, she had run into her while wandering around.
Now, Luna was wearing the same cotton-linen dress from yesterday, her long hair flowing, looking pitiful.
Adeline's mind went blank. She remembered what Luna had said at the mall yesterday. "Do you think Jasper would like this pure white dress? Today is my first time meeting him. I want to make a good impression."
Thinking of this, she also recalled her conversation with Hazel at the mall yesterday, when Hazel called her Ms. Jones.
In the morning at Blue Bay, she noticed a call Jasper received, saved under a single name: [Jones.]
Thinking of how he left immediately after the call, without even bandaging his wound, Adeline felt a sharp pain.
She gripped the ornate railing outside the estate tightly, her excitement vanishing instantly.
It turned out she had misjudged Jasper after all.
Perhaps, he didn't love her as much as Jason had said.
Perhaps, he was disappointed at her completely.
She smiled bitterly, and walked into the heavy rain.
Meanwhile, inside the estate, Luna, who was being held by Jasper, had already seen Adeline.
She squinted slightly. 'Who is she?'
"What are you looking at?" Jasper asked.
She snapped out of her daze as he carried her inside and placed her on the sofa. "I saw a very beautiful woman."
Her voice was soft and gentle. "It's raining outside, and she didn't bring an umbrella; she might catch a cold."
He smiled. "This place is remote and quiet. where would a beautiful woman come from?"
He gently poured her a cup of coffee and handed it to her. "Drink it while it's hot."
"Thank you." She sipped the coffee and slowly spoke, "When will the bone marrow matching results be out?"
His hand holding the coffee cup paused slightly. "We'll know by tomorrow."
He took a small sip of coffee. "If all goes well, the match should be successful."
To treat Blake,he got plenty of resources to screen for a suitable bone marrow match worldwide.
Years ago, Luna had undergone a surgery to extract a small amount of bone marrow cells, and it turned out she was the only one who could match Blake's.
So today, he had taken her to the hospital to re-extract some bone marrow cells to confirm if a transplant was possible. If it was, Blake could be saved!
"I also hope for a matching donor, so I can help Bennett embrace a new lease on life." She lowered her head and smiled shyly. "If my short life can help Bennett through this, it would be worth it."
Jasper paused and put down his coffee cup. "I will also find a way to treat your illness."
She shook her head. "It's useless."
"The doctors have said there's no point in treating me. It would just be a waste of money without any hope of improvement."
She sniffled. "Mr. Foster, I don't expect my illness to be cured. I just hope that in my remaining years, I can have a man who will give me all the romance I desire by my side."
After speaking, she took a small sip of coffee, her face blushing even more in the steam. "I didn't expect you to agree to such an unreasonable request."
He paused, his deep eyes fixed on her. "I can give you romance and everything you want."
"Everything that lovers should have, I can give you."
"But Ms. Jones, I hope you understand."
His voice was low and cold. "I already have someone I love in my heart; we have three children together and I can't let her go."
"Everything I give you is false. Can you really accept that?"
His words made Luna's face turn pale.
After a while, she smiled bitterly. "Mr. Foster, there's no need to say that."
"The fact that I came all the way from Crystal Shores to Radiance Springs to find you for Bennett's treatment shows that I don't care about these things."
After speaking, she sighed. "Did I make things difficult for you?"
Jasper frowned slightly. "Nope."
"That's good." She smiled gently, put down the coffee cup, and glanced around the room. "I'm staying in the bedroom on the second floor, right?"
He nodded. "Yes."
She smiled. "I'll go upstairs to rest now."
After speaking, she stood up and started to go upstairs.
But whether it was because she got up too quickly or for some other reason, she staggered and almost fell.
He quickly supported her. "Take it easy."
"I'm out of strength." She smiled weakly. "My health has been declining lately."
Luna said, "Mr. Foster, can you carry me upstairs again?"
He remained silent, only picking her up and carrying her upstairs.
Being held in his arms, she instinctively grabbed Jasper's collar. She wanted to hug his neck.
But, it was only their second day of knowing each other, it didn't seem appropriate.
She lowered her head, feeling his warmth and heartbeat.
"Get some rest." He said.
After placing her on the bed, he covered her with a blanket, gently closed the door, and went downstairs.
When he left the room, his phone rang. It was Jason calling.
Jasper frowned and answered, "What's the situation?"
"Jasper." Jason was silent for a moment. "Did Luna move into your house?"
Jasper frowned. "Yes."
Luna was from Crystal Shores, which was over a thousand miles from Radiance Springs.
She was all alone here and didn't like staying in hotels. When discussing accommodation with him, it was clear she wanted to live with him.
She was the only person in the world who could donate bone marrow to Blake.
He had to meet all her demands. So early this morning, he had her luggage moved into Emerald Crest Estate.
"What's wrong?" Jasper asked.
"Adeline went to Emerald Crest Estate to find you." Jason sighed, his voice in despair. "She should have arrived by now."
"Be careful, don't let them meet!" Jason continued.
Jasper's hand holding the phone paused slightly. "They'll have to meet eventually."
