Chapter 576 Apologize to Him
Seeing Vikram stop mid-sentence, Adeline frowned and couldn't help but ask, "What's really going on?"
Just then, the airport announcement blared. Vikram took a deep breath and quickly stood up. "I have to go."
Adeline frowned. "Can you finish what you were saying?"
Vikram smiled lightly. "Adeline, you keep saying you don't care about Jasper anymore, so why do you need to know what I was going to say?"
She paused. "I am just curious."
She pouted and turned her face away. "If you don't want to say it, then forget it."
Seeing her like this, Vikram laughed. He pulled a document from his backpack and handed it to her.
"Even if I told you, you wouldn't believe it. I've been gathering a lot of information these past few days."
He added, "Read this. Black and white, with hospital department labels, they won't lie to you."
With that, he slung his backpack over his shoulder, dragged his suitcase, and turned to leave.
"Adeline, it might be a long time before we see each other again. I hope that when I get out of prison, I can formally call you Mrs. Foster."
Adeline held the heavy folder, watching Vikram's departing figure, saying, "Goodbye."
He waved in response. Once his figure finally disappeared at the security checkpoint, Adeline took a deep breath and sat on a nearby bench with the folder.
She thought the folder would contain something related to Jasper. It didn't. The first page of the folder was information about Blake and a flyer about bone marrow matching.
The flyer was translated into more than a dozen languages, each one stating: [If anyone with a successful match is willing to donate bone marrow, Mr. Jasper Foster will give anything he can.]
Adeline looked at the flyer, her heart tightening slightly. It was the first time she had seen this flyer.
She continued to flip through the pages. They were all materials about Jasper's efforts to find a bone marrow donor for Blake abroad.
She only knew that Jasper had brought Blake back from abroad and had briefly helped Blake search for a bone marrow donor.
Later, Luna appeared, and he never cared about Blake again.
Thinking of Luna, the gratitude she felt for Jasper's efforts gradually faded. Turning another page, Adeline was shocked to see Luna's information.
The document contained Luna's personal information and a page of a successful bone marrow match.
At that moment, Adeline felt a bit dizzy.
She quickly flipped through the documents. They were all about the transactions between Jasper and Luna.
Luna had Jasper sign an agreement, promising that after she donated her bone marrow to Blake, he would try not to have any relationship with Blake or contact Adeline.
Jasper promised to maintain a romantic relationship with Luna, to protect her, and to care for her until the end of her life.
The subsequent documents were all about Luna and Blake's surgeries. By the time Adeline finished reading the entire folder, she was in tears.
Her body trembled uncontrollably. Everything Jasper did was for Blake! The Good Samaritan who donated bone marrow to Blake was Luna.
She closed her eyes, countless images of Jasper protecting Luna flashing before her eyes.
The things he did weren't because he fell in love with Luna, but because of his promise.
He brought Luna to live at Emerald Crest Estate and stopped caring about Blake so that Blake would be saved.
He didn't neglect Blake; he cared too much about Blake.
Adeline bit her lip. It turned out that Jasper, who seemed cold and composed on the surface, was carrying so much behind the scenes. But he never said anything, silently bearing it all.
She had always thought that Jasper choosing her and Blake at the mountain top was a moment of conscience.
Now she knew that he had never changed; his choice had always been the child.
"Today, a fireworks show more spectacular than the fireworks party earlier lit up the beach, almost illuminating the entire city," the reporter said.
The reporter added, "According to sources, it was actually Jasper, the president of the Foster Group, celebrating the birthday of someone very important to him."
"We searched the scene for a long time but couldn't find the birthday person, who apparently didn't show up," the reporter continued.
Suddenly, the big screen in front of her broadcasted today's Radiance Springs news.
People around her started discussing.
"That's so disrespectful to Mr. Foster!"
"Yeah, even if you're the richest man, you can still get stood up for a birthday party."
"I heard that the person actually did show up but not only didn't appreciate it, slapped Jasper, and left!"
"Who would dare treat him like that?"
The discussions around her reached Adeline's ears.
She clutched the folder in her arms, biting her lips hard. Before seeing this document, she had always thought Jasper was hypocritical and cold.
Such a person even used the kids' disappearance to surprise her, making her feel like a clown.
But now, the document in her hand clearly and unmistakably told her that Jasper might care about their children even more than she did.
She saw the brilliant fireworks on the TV screen, enough to light up the entire city, and felt a slight pain in her heart.
Maybe he was really serious about preparing her birthday.
Adeline bit her lip, hurriedly stood up, and ran towards the airport exit. There were still two hours until midnight. She wanted to find him and apologize before tomorrow came!
The guests had left, and the previously lively beach had quieted down again.
Because Lauren cried and Blake was in low spirits, Jasper had Ryan take them back to Blue Bay.
He quietly watched the fireworks over the distant sea alone.
Although the main character of the night had left, the fireworks continued. He had prepared fireworks that would last until the clock struck midnight.
"Mr. Foster." Suddenly, a clear child's voice sounded behind him.
Jasper frowned and turned around. Standing not far behind him was a six-year-old boy.
His pupils suddenly dilated. "Bennett?"
