Chapter 438 I Want to Talk to You
Adeline's question made Luna sniffle and speak up, clearly upset. "I stayed here 'cause Jasper wanted me to crash at his place."
Luna lifted her teary eyes to look at Adeline. "Amelia and Anne probably heard Jasper telling me not to tag along to the hospital."
As she spoke, she wiped her tears. "Seems like Ms. Wilson ain't too thrilled to have me around. If that's the case, I might as well head to the hospital with Jasper."
Luna's words made Amelia, who was beside her, stand up. "Luna's right. Mr. Foster did tell her to stay, saying it wouldn't be a big deal!"
Saying this, Amelia grabbed Anne roughly. "Didn't you hear it too? You're Adeline's confidant; she'll believe you!"
Amelia's rough action made Anne cry out in pain.
Timothy quickly stood up, pulled Amelia's hand away, and protected Anne in his arms. "Amelia, what the hell are you doing!"
Amelia rolled her eyes at Timothy. "I just wanted Anne to admit she heard Mr. Foster's words. Why are you so protective?"
Timothy frowned and snorted. "You want Anne to join your schemes. Dream on!"
Protected by Timothy, Anne bit her lip and spoke timidly in a low voice, "Mr. Foster did say not to let Ms. Jones follow him and to have her stay. He also said the drinks wouldn't affect him much."
After speaking, Anne looked at Adeline silently. "I really heard it."
"Ms. Wilson, do you believe it now?" Amelia snorted. "Luna stayed 'cause Mr. Foster arranged it. What right do you have to criticize her?"
Adeline squinted her eyes slightly.
She chuckled, looking at Amelia and then at Luna.
Adeline said, "I'm not criticizing; I'm just curious. Since Ms. Jones doesn't care about Mr. Foster's condition, then stay. Although I'm the host tonight, I don't mind having Ms. Jones here."
After speaking, Adeline turned to Lucia and Robert. "Go to the front desk and get the food served. Tonight, we party till we drop."
Lucia nodded and turned with Robert to make the preparations.
Soon, the food was served, and everyone went from being cautious to enjoying the feast.
After dinner, the waiters cleared the tables from the private room, and everyone even started singing and dancing.
The atmosphere in the private room became chaotic.
It wasn't until after ten o'clock that the energetic group finally dispersed under Adeline's repeated urging.
Robert took the heavily drunk Lucia home, while Timothy was carried into a taxi by Anne.
As the crowd gradually dispersed, only Adeline and Luna were left at the hotel entrance.
Mia had arranged a driver for Adeline.
The driver brought the car over and opened the door courteously. "Ms. Wilson, please get in."
Then he glanced at Luna standing beside Adeline. "Is this your friend? Should I take her home too?"
"I'm not her friend." Luna rolled her eyes, lowered her head coldly, and took out her phone to make a call.
"Get in the car," Adeline sneered. "Who else do you expect to pick you up? Vikram's back in his hometown today, and Jasper's in the hospital at Radiance Springs. Who else can you call? Hazel, the one you fired?"
Luna squinted her eyes, shot Adeline a cold look, and reluctantly opened the car door, sliding into the back seat.
Adeline was right.
Besides Vikram and Jasper, she had no other friends in Radiance Springs.
It was late, Vikram wasn't around, and she had no clue what was up with Jasper at the hospital, so she didn't dare take a taxi alone—too pretty to risk it in case something happened.
Even though Luna was pissed, letting Adeline take her home was her only option now.
The car started.
Luna sat in the back seat with her arms crossed, giving Adeline a cold glance. "Don't think I'll be grateful for this ride."
Adeline smirked, adjusted to a comfy position, and leaned back in the seat. "I don't expect gratitude. Just do fewer things that piss me off."
Luna rolled her eyes and stayed silent.
"I'm actually curious," Adeline yawned with her eyes closed. "Did Jasper owe you something he can't repay, so he's so whipped?"
She'd seen other women around Jasper, but Luna was the first to make him act this crazy.
Adeline's words made Luna smile.
Luna said, "He does owe me something, something he can never repay in this lifetime."
Luna raised her head proudly, looking at Adeline with cold eyes. "With me around, just do your job, finish it, and take your kids away. Jasper is mine, and he will always be mine!"
Adeline squinted her eyes and smiled. "How arrogant. Those women before you were also arrogant, but you saw what happened to them."
Luna squinted her eyes. "I'm different from them."
Adeline sneered. "How are you different?"
"You'll find out." Luna mimicked Adeline, resting her head on her arm, and sighed deeply. "I didn't expect you to choose to take me home. I didn't think you would be so kind."
Adeline snorted.
She said, "I'm not kind; it's just that I organized tonight's event. With Jasper not here, if I don't take you home and you die on the way, Jasper won't let me off."
Adeline's words made Luna pause.
After a while, she smiled bitterly. "I had thought you would harm me halfway."
Adeline said, "I'm not interested in your life."
Soon, the car arrived at Emerald Crest Estate.
The car stopped, and Luna thanked Adeline, then grabbed her purse and got out of the car.
Watching Luna leave, the driver frowned and couldn't help but mutter, "She's really annoying."
The driver thought, 'Ms. Wilson kindly took her home, and she was cold and sarcastic the whole way.'
Adeline smiled. "Forget about her. Let's head home."
The driver nodded, but as soon as he turned the car around, he frowned. "The road is blocked."
Adeline, who was looking at her phone, frowned and looked up, seeing two black cars blocking their way.
Adeline recognized these two cars.
One belonged to Jason, and the other to Jasper.
Adeline coldly smirked. Jasper got out of the hospital so quickly?
At this moment, the car door opened, and Jasper got out, walking slowly to Adeline's car and gently knocking on the door. "Adeline, come out. I want to talk to you."
