Chapter 635 She Will Definitely Go Crazy!
Besides Jasper and Molly, there was Rex, looking sharp in a suit but missing that touch of class.
When Adeline came downstairs, Rex jumped up with a grin, "Adeline."
She frowned, clearly puzzled.
Wasn't Rex supposed to apologize and shoot a video?
Why was he still hanging around?
Sensing Adeline's confusion, Molly smirked, "I invited Rex over since it's late and he hasn't had dinner. Our place is big enough; we can easily set an extra spot for him."
Molly raised an eyebrow and glanced at Adeline. "Sister Adeline, you wouldn't be so petty as to not let Rex have a meal at our house, would you?"
Adeline's brows furrowed deeply. She smiled and came downstairs, "I don't mind Rex having a meal at our house."
She sat down and gave Molly a cold look, "Given our relationship, you should just call me Miss Wilson."
She shot Molly a frosty glance, "Besides, don't you already have a sister outside?"
Molly's face went pale instantly. How did Adeline know?
"It's just a casual address."
Noticing the tension, Rex quickly smiled to ease things up. All he could think about was tonight; he didn't want their argument to mess up his plans.
"Let's eat!" He said, serving Jasper a chicken leg, "Jasper, you're just recovering. Make sure to eat well."
Jasper glanced at him indifferently, picked up the chicken leg, and tossed it into the trash can at his feet.
Rex's face turned pale, but thinking about tonight's plans, he endured it.
The atmosphere at the table was tense.
Adeline pretended to cough, covering her mouth and nose with a tissue, and silently dripped some liquid from the tissue into her soup bowl and water glass.
The water glass stayed the same, but the soup bowl's color changed more drastically than usual poisoned food.
Jasper noticed her actions and knew what the color change meant.
So he casually swapped his meat soup with Adeline's vegetable soup.
Adeline was stunned and looked up at him.
It was the first time she had seen him in a while.
To avoid Molly using their relationship to cause trouble, Adeline had been keeping her distance from Jasper.
Even though they lived in the same house, they had only been communicating via phone.
It had been almost a month since they last saw each other.
Jasper's health seemed better; his face had regained some color and wasn't as pale and haggard.
But his chiseled face had become even more defined.
Noticing her gaze, Jasper smiled faintly, "I don't really feel like having meat soup; your vegetable soup looks better."
His was meant to move the poisoned vegetable soup in front of him, fearing Adeline might forget and actually drink it.
But to Rex, it looked like Jasper was showing off his affection for Adeline.
He squinted and couldn't hold back, grabbing the vegetable soup in front of Jasper and chugging it down.
The other three at the table stared in shock as he placed his mushroom soup in front of Jasper.
"Jasper, your health isn't great; you shouldn't be drinking something as non-nutritious as vegetable soup. Drink mine."
Seeing the empty bowl in front of Rex, Adeline was stunned.
Molly, on the other hand, was furious, thinking, 'Rex, you idiot! That was my last bit of poison!'
She had planned to watch Adeline drink it and wait for her to be poisoned tonight!
But she didn't expect this fool to drink it all!
The anger and frustration in Molly's eyes made Jasper smile.
For once, he didn't show Rex a cold face but smiled faintly.
"Then I really have to thank Rex for caring about my health and giving me this soup."
After speaking, he drank the mushroom soup.
Rex couldn't grasp what Jasper meant, assuming he was merely trying to maintain his dignity after failing to impress.
So Rex was even happier, savoring his meal with a smirk. "It's what I should do."
Seeing Rex's arrogant look, Adeline shook her head and continued dining.
Fortunately, the poison was slow-acting and required multiple doses to accumulate.
Otherwise, drinking so much at once, Rex would definitely end up in the hospital tonight.
The atmosphere at the dining table was eerily quiet.
Adeline was the first to finish her meal. She put down her cutlery, coldly said goodbye to the other three at the table, and went upstairs.
Seeing her go upstairs, Jasper also put down his cutlery and left.
Soon, only Rex and Molly were left at the table.
Watching Jasper leave, Rex snorted, full of pride.
"Jasper wanted to show off his affection for Adeline in front of us! After I drank that soup, he pretended to be happy and thanked me, but he must be furious inside, right?"
Molly rubbed her temples helplessly and glanced at Rex. "Idiot."
Rex didn't hear her call him an idiot and continued to boast proudly.
After a while, realizing Molly was ignoring him, Rex frowned. "When will the drug take effect?"
Molly sneered and glanced at the time. "In half an hour, the drug will definitely take effect."
In fact, besides poisoning Adeline's soup with the poison, she had also added an aphrodisiac to the shared food.
Originally, she had calculated that when Adeline's poison took effect, the aphrodisiac would also take effect on everyone.
By then, Adeline would find herself entwined with Rex, lost in the throes of passion.
Jasper, being with her, wouldn't be able to care about Adeline.
This way, Adeline wouldn't get timely medical attention, and even if she didn't die, she would definitely hate Jasper.
All of this was ruined by that fool Rex!
But it didn't matter.
Even if Adeline didn't die from the poison tonight, she would still end up having sex with Rex tonight.
Molly thought, 'Besides, when Adeline finds Jasper and me together in the morning, she will definitely go crazy!'
