Chapter 744 What Else Can He Do

Nighttime.

Dennis drove to the airport as planned.

For some reason, the roads near the airport were completely jammed.

He glanced at the time, growing increasingly anxious.

Seeing that the agreed time with Jason had already passed, Dennis pulled out his phone and dialed Jason's number.

"Hey, Jason, I'm stuck in traffic. Meet me at East Gate 2 of the airport. I'll be there in about ten minutes."

"Got it." Jason replied.

After hanging up, Jason took a deep breath, clutching the bag of herbs, and walked for a long time before finally reaching East Gate 2.

But to his surprise, as soon as he arrived, a man claiming to be Dennis was already waiting there.

"Hey, you must be Jason Smith, right?"

The man was dressed in a flashy suit with slicked-back hair. Seeing Jason, he smiled and walked over.

Jason instinctively felt a bit of aversion towards the man. He took a step back, "And you are?"

The man chuckled lightly, "Hey, I'm Dennis."

Jason's brows furrowed tightly.

Hadn't Jasper said that Dennis was a pharmacist specializing in herbal medicine?

He also mentioned that Dennis preferred wearing traditional robes.

In Jasper's description, Dennis was someone who appreciated traditional culture and was calm and peaceful.

Jason couldn't reconcile the man in front of him with the Dennis he had heard about.

So, Jason cautiously asked, "Didn't you say you were stuck in traffic?"

"The traffic police came, so it cleared up quickly." The man smiled and extended his hand towards Jason. "Where's the Crag Root Herb? We need it urgently."

Jason hesitated for a moment, then took out his phone to call Dennis.

The man's phone didn't ring.

But the call didn't go through either.

Seeing Jason making the call, Randy narrowed his eyes slightly. He smiled warmly and showed his phone, "It's out of battery; you won't get through."

Jason bit his lip and looked at the man in front of him again, "Are you really Dennis?"

The man laughed, "What, do you need me to show my driver's license to believe me, Mr. Smith?"

Saying that, Randy made a move to pull something out of his pocket.

"Forget it." Jason sighed.

He didn't have a habit of checking other people's IDs.

Maybe you really can't judge a book by its cover. Who said a pharmacist couldn't wear a flashy suit and have slicked-back hair?

Sighing, Jason handed the bag to Randy. "Mr. Gonzalez, take good care of this. This is something Jasper risked his life to bring back. This Crag Root Herb is ten years old, very rare!"

Randy took the bag, a faint smile on his lips, "Don't worry."

He then pointed to the car behind him, "Where are you headed next, Mr. Smith? I can give you a ride."

"No need." Jason smiled and pointed to a car on the distant road, "A friend is picking me up."

Randy squinted in the direction Jason pointed.

In an instant, Randy was stunned.

It was David!

In the car Jason pointed to, sitting in the passenger seat smoking and looking ahead, was none other than David.

This David had recently made a name for himself in Oceancrest City, taking down several long-standing gangs.

Now, David had become a dominant figure in Oceancrest City's underworld!

How did he know Jason?

"Mr. Gonzalez, Jasper and Adeline's future is in your hands!"

With that, Jason strode towards David's car, opened the door, and got in.

Randy felt his mind go blank.

Jason and David were friends. Did that mean Jasper and David were connected too? Randy felt a chill run down his spine, straight to his head.

Standing there in a daze for a long time, Randy finally snapped out of it.

Dennis's car was stuck in traffic for a long time.

And for some reason, his phone died before he even reached the airport.

By the time he got to East Gate 2, twenty minutes had passed since the agreed time with Jason.

From a distance, he saw a man holding a bag standing at the gate.

Seeing Dennis, the man hesitated for a moment, then quickly walked over. "Are you Mr. Gonzalez? I'm Jason."

Dennis nodded quickly, "Yeah, sorry I'm late."

"It's okay." The man chuckled lightly.

After some small talk, the man handed the bag to Dennis, "I've fulfilled Jasper's request. I'll be going now."

With that, he turned and walked into the airport.

Dennis watched the man's back, his brows tightly knit.

He just arrived and now he's leaving?

And this man was really Jasper's good friend? He looked more like Jasper's assistant or servant.

But Dennis didn't have time to dwell on it. He took the bag back to his car and drove as fast as he could to Swan Villa.

All the herbs were ready, only the Crag Root Herb was missing!

But to Dennis's shock, when he opened the bag at home, it was filled with weeds that had nothing to do with Crag Root Herb!

Dennis was so angry he almost knocked over the medicine pot!

What should be done now?

All the herbs were already simmering, but Jasper had tricked him with weeds!

Thinking of this, Dennis angrily wanted to call Jasper to curse him out, but Jasper's phone was off.

He was like a man who played a prank and then disappeared without a trace.

While Dennis was at a loss, the servant said, "Mr. Gonzalez, Mr. Brandon Torres is here. He said his people got a very rare herb called Crag Root Herb from out of town today and he wants to see you."

Dennis's eyes lit up! As he heard that, he rushed out the door.

Magnolia Estate.

Adeline looked at the man who hadn't appeared in a long time, her lips curling with coldness.

"Jasper is so busy that he has to send you to tell me to wait for him?"

Jason sighed, "Adeline, Jasper didn't want me to tell you what he's doing. But I think if you knew what he's done for you, you'd regret it. You'd regret not treating him well, not trusting him!"

Jason's words made Adeline feel like she was hearing the funniest joke in the world.

"What has he done for me? He left me alone in Oceancrest City to go back to work, without even telling me to wait for him."

Adeline looked into the distance, her voice cold. "Jason, tell me. What else can he do besides hurt me?"
