Chapter 335 You Really Surprised Me

Jasper's words dropped like a bomb, silencing the room.

Everyone stared at him, buzzing with questions.

"Who does he think he is?"

"Don't you know? That's Mr. Foster from Radiance Springs, the guy who took down the Quinn family!"

"He owns the Phoebe Group now. And guess what? Today's groom, Zavier, his ex-wife is the CEO's eldest daughter."

"He's here to stir things up, isn't he?"

"Who would have thought he'd side with the CEO's daughter?"

"Zavier's in big trouble now."

The whispers grew louder, like a brewing storm.

On stage, Zavier stood frozen, his face twisted with anger as the focus shifted from his wedding to Jasper.

"Mr. Foster," he spat, his voice shaking with rage.

Beside him, Zoe managed a cool smile.

"We know you have influence, and it's clear you're not here to give blessings."

"But," she continued, her voice steely, adjusting her gown and staring Jasper down, "you call us disgusting, but aren't you just as bad?"

She linked arms with Zavier, her smile widening. "Zavier and I started dating after his divorce. No cheating, no betrayal."

"And Linda?" she scoffed. "She slept around on him. When Zavier found out, he divorced her, and she still paints him as the villain!"

"I invited her out of courtesy, hoping she'd see our happiness and move on."

Zoe sneered at Adeline, who sat beside Jasper. "But as expected, she didn't have the guts to show up. She sent you instead."

Adeline, finally calming her rebellious stomach, glared at Zoe, her voice icy. "Linda had no idea you were marrying Zavier!"

"If she knew, she wouldn't have accepted your invite, let alone sent me!"

Adeline couldn't forget Linda's cheerful voice that morning, asking about the bride and groom, wishing them well.

The thought of Linda being deceived, yet still wanting to offer blessings, filled Adeline with rage. Zoe was despicable.

"She didn't know?" Zoe laughed, a high-pitched, mocking sound.

"Adeline, are you really that naive?"

"You think Linda didn't know my name?"

Her words hit Adeline like a ton of bricks.

"What are you talking about?" Adeline asked, frowning.

"Let me spell it out," Zoe sneered. "Linda knew me long before today. I was Zavier's secretary before she married him."

"She knew my name. Zoe."

"And the invitation I sent? It had my name on it."

Zoe arched an eyebrow at Adeline. "Get it now?"

"Your friend knew exactly who sent that invite, knew it was for my wedding to Zavier, and she still agreed to come."

"I thought she had the guts to face me."

"But she couldn't stomach it. So she sent you."

Adeline was speechless.

If Zoe was telling the truth, if she really was Zavier's secretary before...

Then Linda knew. She knew who was marrying Zavier, yet she still pretended to be happy for them, even wanting to attend the wedding.

Adeline closed her eyes, feeling a wave of sadness.

She didn't know whether to pity Linda or be mad at her.

This showed how much she still cared for Zavier.

From high school until now, Linda's feelings for him had lasted almost a decade.

How could she just erase nearly ten years of her life?

"Maybe Linda didn't come because she didn't want to ruin your day," Jasper said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "She was trying to be considerate, Ms. Richardson. Remember, Linda and Zavier were together for almost ten years."

"Nearly a decade of love doesn't vanish overnight. Can you honestly say Zavier has completely forgotten her?"

Zoe's jaw tightened. "He's long forgotten her," she hissed.

"Our love is strong!"

Jasper laughed, a chilling sound that echoed through the hall. "Nearly ten years of love, forgotten in less than three months."

"And you think your fling, barely a few months old, is unbreakable?"

His words cut deep, infuriating Zoe.

"Who said our relationship is only a few months old!?" she shrieked.

"Zavier and I have been together since last year! It's been at least a year and a half, not a few months like you claim!"

Her outburst was met with stunned silence. Zavier's eyes widened in horror, and he frantically tried to cover her mouth.

"Don't listen to her, everyone! It's all nonsense! Zoe and I only got together after my divorce from Linda!"

But the damage was done. No one believed him anymore.

Murmurs erupted throughout the venue, fingers pointed, heads shook in disbelief.

"So they were the ones cheating all along!"

"They just said they got together after the divorce, that there was no betrayal!"

"No wonder Mr. Foster called them disgusting. They were carrying on behind Linda's back!"

Zavier's face turned an interesting shade of purple as the whispers grew louder, his carefully constructed facade crumbling.

"But that's not the only reason I find them disgusting," Jasper continued, his voice cutting through the noise like a knife.

He glanced at Ryan, who stood silently behind him. Ryan stepped forward, placing a document on the table.

Jasper picked it up, a slow smile spreading across his face as he looked at the stunned couple on stage. "I wasn't planning on getting involved in your little charade."

"After all, David had already dealt with the worst offenders."

"But then I got your invitation last night, and curiosity got the better of me. I decided to do a little digging."

"Imagine my surprise when I found out it was your wedding."

He leaned back, his gaze turning icy as it swept over Zoe's stomach. "And while my people were gathering information, they found something interesting."

"It seems Ms. Richardson's baby isn't three months along, as one might assume."

"It's closer to five."

A collective gasp rippled through the room.

Five months!

Zavier and Linda, the Phoebe heiress, had been divorced for less than three!

If Zoe was five months pregnant...

Then she and Zavier were together before the divorce!

Chaos erupted.

"Zavier, I'm truly disappointed in you."

The voice, filled with quiet sadness, came from the entrance.

Everyone turned to see Linda, her face pale but composed, sitting in a wheelchair pushed by David. She was dressed in a simple hospital gown, a stark contrast to the extravagant wedding attire around her.
