Chapter 444 I'm Crazy
The second Adeline spun around, Jasper felt his blood start to boil.
A weird feeling bubbled up inside him. He knew exactly what it was.
But it was broad daylight, they were in her office, and their relationship was in the dumps. Plus, Luna had just messed with her feelings using him.
He knew he shouldn't be thinking about her right now. But he couldn't help it.
Jasper took a step forward, trying to keep his cool, and said in a rough voice, "Adeline, I came here to tell you something."
Jasper took a deep breath, his voice low and raspy. "I don't plan on having kids with Luna."
Adeline was a bit taken aback. Then she laughed. "Really?"
She didn't buy a word of it.
She got up, walked around him to the door, and opened it. "Mr. Foster, if that's all you got, please leave."
Adeline's icy attitude made Jasper's eyes narrow a bit.
Her eyes were red, clearly from crying or trying not to. But now, she was firmly and coldly telling him to get out.
Jasper took a deep breath. "Adeline, I came here to explain."
"Explain what?" Adeline found his mixed signals amusing. "You gonna deny talking about kids with Luna at Bennett's grave? Or call Ms. Jones, the woman you love, a liar?"
Jasper lowered his voice, speaking hoarsely, "What if I say yes?"
Adeline's smile turned even sadder.
She looked him in the eye, emphasizing each word, "Then Mr. Foster, since Ms. Jones is such a liar, can you tell me what exactly you like about her?"
Jasper stayed silent.
Seeing him like that, Adeline sniffled, her voice breaking a bit. "If you really cared about Bennett and respected him, you wouldn't have brought your new girlfriend to his grave so soon after he died!"
She bit her lip and glared at him, tears streaming down her face.
Adeline didn't know what was wrong with her.
She'd been sadder and more upset before, but she hadn't cried.
As soon as Jasper came to explain, her tears flowed like a broken dam, even though she tried to hold them back, even though she was angry, the tears still fell silently and quickly.
Lunchtime was almost over, and the employees outside were starting to come back to their desks.
Adeline stood at the office door, tearfully arguing with Jasper, catching everyone's attention.
When the murmurs reached them, Jasper frowned, took a quick step forward, pulled Adeline back, and shut the door.
By the time Adeline realized what was happening, she was pressed against Jasper's warm, familiar chest.
Jasper's somewhat rapid breathing above her head made Adeline momentarily dazed.
But the next second, she snapped out of it. Adeline desperately pushed and fought against Jasper's hold.
The more she struggled, the tighter Jasper held her.
With eyes burning, Jasper clutched Adeline tightly to his chest, greedily inhaling her unique scent.
He didn't want them to be seen by more people, so he rushed over to pull her back and close the door.
But once she was in his arms, he didn't want to let go.
How long had it been since he last held her? He couldn't remember. But he knew exactly how he felt right now. He wanted to hold her; he didn't want to let go.
Adeline shouted, "Jasper, let me go!"
The difference in strength between them made it impossible for Adeline to break free from Jasper's embrace. She could only struggle wildly and curse angrily. But it was all useless.
Her office was soundproof, so no one outside could hear what was going down. And she couldn't break free from Jasper's grip at all.
"Don't shout," Jasper rasped, then he just went for it, sealing her mouth with his own.
Jasper's kiss came out of nowhere, catching Adeline totally off guard. She started struggling again, and in the end, she bit his lip, the taste of blood spreading in both their mouths. Only then did Jasper finally let her go.
But the next second, he had her pinned against the door. Jasper's kisses rained down like a storm, from her lips to her jaw, and down to her neck. Finally, his lips stopped at her collarbone, lingering there.
Adeline closed her eyes in despair.
She knew her collarbone must be red by now. This was Jasper's old, boring habit, saying he wanted to "mark" her.
After a while, he finally let her go.
"Jasper, what the hell are you doing?" Adeline glared at him angrily, only to see his eyes filled with an unusual redness.
Jasper stared at her face, his breathing ragged. "Adeline."
His intense gaze made Adeline instantly understand what he wanted.
Even though she didn't want to, she had to admit that years of being with Jasper had made her well aware of his every reaction.
Adeline pushed him away, coldly rejecting him, "This is the office! Jasper, if you want to do this, go find Luna! Don't you still want her to have your kid? Go find your Luna!"
Her words made Jasper's eyes narrow.
The next second, Jasper grabbed her with one hand, took off his coat with the other, and draped it over her, tying her hands behind her back with it.
Fear washed over Adeline. She bit her lip, struggling and glaring at him. "Jasper, are you out of your mind?"
"Yes, I am!" Jasper sneered, his eyes filled with raw desire. "If you don't want everyone in the office to know what you're about to do with me, then shut up!"
After saying that, he picked her up and kicked open the office door.
The employees outside, seeing this, quickly looked down, not daring to speak or make a sound.
Adeline was in Jasper's arms, her hands tied with the coat, unable to struggle or shout. If the coat came off, everyone would see the kiss marks Jasper had left on her collarbone.
Lucia frowned, instinctively standing up and asking, "Is Adeline hurt?"
Jasper narrowed his eyes and nodded. "Her arm's hurt; I'm taking her to the hospital."
Lucia quickly nodded and raised her voice. "Then Mr. Foster, you should take Adeline to the hospital quickly. Need me to come along?"
Jasper was silent for a moment, then nodded. "Yeah, come along."
Lucia hurriedly grabbed her stuff and rushed to catch up, giving Adeline a meaningful glance as she was tightly held by Jasper. With a look of urgency, she stepped ahead to open the door.
Adeline closed her eyes.
Lucia was giving Jasper an excuse, and also giving her an out.
After all, if Jasper just carried her out without a word, who knew what kind of rumors would spread in the office by the afternoon.
As they left the office, they ran into Amelia coming out of the elevator.
Amelia squinted at the scene and couldn't help but laugh mockingly. "What happened? Is Adeline working so hard that Mr. Foster has to carry her?"
