Chapter 705 Why Should I Go with You
"Thanks, everyone, for coming to celebrate my engagement to Brandon tonight!"
On the phone screen, Adeline was dressed in a stunning little black dress, smiling warmly and radiantly at the camera.
Jasper stood silently by the door, gently caressing the image of the woman on his phone screen with his thumb.
He muttered to himself, "It's all fake. It has to be fake."
This so-called engagement party was definitely a scheme by the Torres family and the Phoebe family!
How dared the Phoebe family send Adeline to the Torres family to deal with him?
They forced Adeline to announce that she was willingly marrying Brandon.
Jasper threw his phone to the ground, grabbed his coat, and headed out in his slippers.
"Ryan! Get the car ready! I'm going to the Torres Mansion. I'm going to find Adeline and get her out of there!"
Ryan bit his lip, watching Jasper stumble out the door, his heart aching.
He had been by Jasper's side for so many years, and he had never seen him so distraught.
With a sigh, Ryan quickly followed him.
"Mr. Foster, if you're going to see Mrs. Foster, you should at least look presentable."
Jasper paused and looked down at himself.
Though he had put on a coat, he was still in his pajamas and slippers.
Jasper let out a bitter laugh. He should indeed look presentable when meeting Adeline and Brandon.
Going over there in such a disheveled state would only make the Phoebe family and the Torres family think they had made the right decision.
Jasper took a deep breath and returned to his room.
Ryan quickly found people to help Jasper change clothes, shave, and apply cologne.
In the past, Jasper hated it when Ryan fussed over these things.
But now, he obediently let them do as they pleased.
Jasper stared ahead, lost in thought.
Ten minutes later, everything was ready, and Ryan personally drove Jasper to the Torres Mansion.
When they arrived, the Torres Mansion was already being decorated for the engagement party.
"Just a few days ago, we were worried Ms. Wilson wouldn't marry Mr. Torres. After all, he is now disabled and can't walk properly. Marrying him means taking care of him for life."
"But didn't Ms. Wilson promise to marry Mr. Torres back then? She can't go back on her word, right?"
"True. When Ms. Wilson was injured, Mr. Torres took care of her meticulously. Now that he is in trouble, how can Ms. Wilson abandon him?"
"These two have been through thick and thin together. They're a perfect match."
The servants chatted as they worked.
Jasper got out of the car, overhearing their conversation, and immediately felt a surge of anger.
He kicked a decoration on the ground, sending it flying. "Get Brandon out here!"
The Torres family and the Phoebe family conspired together, threatening to use Adeline for their own gain, and yet they dared to have their servants claim that Brandon and Adeline were a perfect match!
"Sir, who are you? Do you know where you are?" one servant angrily approached, but was held back by others.
The servant lowered their voices.
"That's Jasper, the one who brought the Phoebe family to their knees in just a week."
At these words, the servants fell silent, not daring to speak.
The lead servant frowned.
"Do you want to see Mr. Torres? You might not be able to see him. He's injured and resting. But I can get Mrs. Adeline Torres for you. Though she's busy setting up the courtyard today, she might be occupied."
The servant's words made Jasper furious.
He glared. "Does the Torres family teach their servants to lie?"
Adeline was clearly forced into agreeing to this engagement with Brandon!
How could she be busy setting up the courtyard?
And how could she easily accept the title of Mrs. Adeline Torres?
The servant rolled her eyes. "Who's lying?"
She quickly sent a young servant to find Adeline.
"Go, tell Mrs. Adeline Torres there's trouble at the gate!"
Jasper, who hadn't rested properly for nearly a week, felt a splitting headache.
He leaned against a pillar at the entrance of the Torres Mansion's courtyard to keep from collapsing.
He had to get an explanation from the Torres family, no matter what!
If the Torres family couldn't give him a satisfactory explanation today, he wouldn't hesitate to bankrupt both the Torres and Phoebe families!
Soon, the sound of high heels clicking on the ground echoed from the courtyard, accompanied by Adeline's slightly annoyed voice.
"Who would cause trouble at a time like this?"
Though this was where Brandon lived, their engagement party was set to be at Crystal Heights Resort.
If someone wanted to cause trouble, they should go there.
Adeline, puzzled, stepped out of the courtyard.
As soon as she stepped out, she saw Jasper, pale and leaning against a pillar.
The last time she saw him looking this bad was when he had been stabbed multiple times for her.
But now, it was clear he wasn't injured, just utterly exhausted.
Adeline took a deep breath, suppressing the concern and worry she felt for him. She looked at him, her voice tinged with coldness.
"Mr. Foster, what brings you to the Torres family at this hour?"
Hearing Adeline's icy tone, the dazed and exhausted Jasper finally looked up.
Standing before him was Adeline, in a stunning little black dress, tall and graceful, her face exquisitely beautiful. The woman he had been longing for day and night!
Jasper frowned, his eyes filled with shock. "You... they didn't tie you up?"
Adeline smirked coldly. "Why would they tie me up?"
The Torres family had never truly imprisoned her. At most, they kept her and Brandon in the courtyard, not allowing her to leave.
But as long as Jasper came to the Torres Mansion, he could find her in the courtyard.
Yet, he had been in Oceancrest City for nearly ten days.
This was his first time coming to the Torres Mansion.
Jasper narrowed his eyes and sensed something was off.
The Phoebe family sent her to the Torres family, forcing her to marry. They would have tied her up.
If they didn't tie her up, why didn't she escape?
She knew he was in Oceancrest City, looking for her!
But now it wasn't the time to discuss this.
Jasper took a deep breath, rushed forward, and grabbed Adeline's wrist. "Come with me!"
Jasper's grip on her wrist was strong. Adeline winced in pain, frowning.
She firmly stepped back, wrenching her wrist free from his grasp.
"Jasper, why should I go with you?"
