Chapter 378 Can't Rely Entirely on Jasper

Eric's words left Adeline stunned for a long time.

After a long while, she finally managed to tug at her stiff lips with difficulty, striving to regain her composure.

Her face was filled with shock and confusion. "Are you serious?"

She and Brandon had actually searched abroad for so long but couldn't find a bone marrow match for Blake.

The search once left her desperate; otherwise, she wouldn't have risked bringing Bennett and Lauren back to Radiance Springs to find Jasper.

Now, Eric was telling her that they had found a suitable bone marrow match?

"Of course, it's true!" Eric excitedly patted her shoulder. "Adeline, are you so excited that you can't believe it's real?"

"Actually, I am too! When I got the call, my hands were shaking!" He said.

She gave him another blank stare, excitement forming in her eyes. "So, Blake really has a chance, right?"

The doctor  nodded vigorously. "Yes!"

"Blake has a chance! Blake has a chance!" She kept repeating this sentence, her heart and mind gradually overtaken by excitement.

She was trembling all over, unable to calm down.

She picked up the water cup on the table, drinking it with trembling hands and trying to calm herself down.

However, she couldn't calm down at all. Blake had a chance!

This was the only good news she had heard since she woke up these days!

If Bennett were in heaven and knew that Blake had a chance, he would also be happy, right?

Adeline, restless with excitement, bit her lip as she watched Eric at the doorway. "Since Blake can have the surgery within two weeks, What do I need to prepare?"

Seeing her excited look, Eric sighed. "You need to prepare money."

She thought of her nearly empty bank account balance.

"Mr. Foster has pre-paid some medical expenses for Blake at the hospital, but the money is far from enough."

"The hospital has called him several times, but he has no intention of continuing to pre-pay."

After saying this, Eric sighed and looked up at Adeline's face. "So, Miss Wilson, I suggest you prepare for both possibilities."

"If he really stops paying, I hope Blake won't miss this life-saving opportunity just because of money."

Her hands silently clenched into fists at her sides. She closed her eyes. "I understand."

Eric seemed on the verge of saying something, but ultimately remained silent and turned to leave.

The bedroom quieted down.

Her hands silently unclenched and clenched again at her sides.

Eric was right. She couldn't rely on Jasper for everything.

After all, she had just witnessed his heartlessness and indifference.

She couldn't rely on him, who found a new lover shortly after their child passed away, to pay for Blake's surgery.

She still had to earn money herself.

Just as she was thinking this, her phone rang again. It was Lucia.

"Adeline, are you really not coming back to work?" Lucia asked.

"If you've decided, I'll report it to the HR department. They've asked several times. If you're really not coming back, I can let them find someone else..."

Before Lucia could finish, Adeline interrupted her calmly, "I'll be back to work tomorrow. You're right; my son is sick, and I need money."

After saying this, Adeline hung up the phone directly, leaving Lucia in shock.

Putting down her phone, she took a deep breath and walked to the balcony.

The rain outside had stopped, and there was a rainbow in the sky. The air was filled with the fresh scent of soil and trees.

She closed her eyes, feeling the vibrant atmosphere outside, and let out a long breath.

For Blake, she had endured Jasper for so long. Half a month more wouldn't make a difference.

At Emerald Crest Estate, Jasper had just parked his car and didn't even get out yet when his phone rang. It was Ryan calling.

"Mr. Foster, everything has been arranged as you instructed," Ryan said.

"The doctor has explained to Ms. Wilson that you are unwilling to continue paying the medical expenses. The company has also confirmed that Adeline will continue to work at Foster Group and will start tomorrow."

Jasper responded indifferently, continuing to give Ryan further instructions as he left the car.

The heavy rain had stopped outside, and the trees that Adeline had once designed in Emerald Crest Estate were now lush and glistening from the rain.

Amidst the greenery, Luna, dressed in a white cotton-linen dress, tilted her head and smiled at Jasper. "You're back, and the rain has stopped."

Her smile looked particularly beautiful against the backdrop of the dark green.

He frowned slightly, ended the call, and approached her.

"Can I hug you?" She shyly asked, seeing him standing in front of her and holding the hem of her dress.

He squinted slightly, then nodded.

Her soft body hugged him. He also routinely wrapped his arms around her.

But what appeared before his eyes was the image of Adeline he had just seen at Blue Bay.

Her angry expression seemed to be etched in his mind.

"Jasper." Perhaps sensing his indifference, Luna let go of him shortly after hugging him. "I just arrived in Radiance Springs, and I'm not familiar with the place. But you can't be with me all the time, and I'll feel very bored."

She looked up seriously at him. "How about this? Can I work at Foster Group?"

Jasper frowned slightly, gently lowering his head to rub her hair. "Your health isn't good, and the work intensity there is high. I'm afraid you can't handle it."

She bit her lip. "I won't do difficult work. I can just be an intern, doing odd jobs!"

"I'll try not to cause trouble for you or the company. I just need a place to stay!"

As she spoke, she reached out to grab Jasper's arm, gently shaking it a few times. "Please agree, okay?"

"Otherwise, you'll be at work every day, and I'll be here alone. It's really boring."

Jasper was silent for a moment.

After a while, he lowered his head and smiled lightly. "That can be arranged."

"But Foster Group has so many branches and departments. Which one do you want to go to?"

She asked, "Any one is fine?"

Her eyes lit up. "Can I go to the jewelry design department?"

If he remembered correctly, Adeline was in the jewelry design department at Foster Group.
