Chapter 760 Does Mr. Torres Agree?
Brandon squinted at the video Dennis was holding.
The entire transaction between Jason and Randy was caught in the background!
He kept his face calm, but inside, he was fuming.
He had specifically told Randy to handle all the footage at the scene!
That idiot probably thought everything was fine after dealing with the surveillance cameras.
But he forgot this was the airport exit, and Oceancrest City was a popular fall travel destination. There were bound to be people filming, just like in the video.
If Dennis could get his hands on one video, he could get others too.
Brandon squinted and looked up at Dennis. "I don't know."
"Maybe Mr. Smith and Randy had some kind of deal."
Dennis looked at Brandon and suddenly thought this guy was incredibly shameless.
The evidence was right in front of him, yet he still tried to weasel out of it!
Just as Dennis was about to argue, Adeline, who had been standing next to Brandon, spoke up, "Jason couldn't have had any dealings with Randy."
She squinted at the video in front of her.
"Jason came to see me the day he arrived in Oceancrest City."
"The time he left in the video matches the time he arrived at Magnolia Estate to see me."
"In other words, after giving something to Randy, Jason drove straight to Magnolia Estate to see me."
She glanced at Brandon with a hint of disdain.
"Everyone knows Jason gave Dennis a bundle of weeds to humiliate him."
"But in the video, Jason handed something to Randy right after leaving, then went to see me at Magnolia Estate."
"So when did he have time to give Dennis the weeds?"
Adeline's words made Dennis smile. "Miss Wilson's logic is spot on."
He pointed to the man holding a bag who appeared at the East Gate in the video.
"That day, this man claimed to be Jason and gave me the weeds."
"When I met the real Jason, I realized I'd been tricked, so I sent people to find this fake Jason. We found his body in a dump outside the city."
"He was still wearing the clothes from the video, and the coroner confirmed he died on the same day as the video."
"Moreover..."
Dennis turned his gaze to Brandon.
"He had a badge from the Torres family security team on him."
All the evidence was laid out.
Adeline's hands clenched into fists at her sides, and she finally felt a sense of relief.
So Jason hadn't humiliated Dennis with weeds. He had brought the real Crag Root Herb.
He had tried for her.
Even though a week had passed and she had hopelessly returned to the Phoebe family, seeing this truth made her happy.
She hadn't trusted the wrong person or loved the wrong person.
Jason had truly fought for their relationship.
Even if they had no future together, she was still glad.
But Dennis's revelation unsettled Zara.
She frowned at Brandon, her face finally showing displeasure.
"Brandon, what's going on?"
Zara had agreed to Brandon and Adeline's engagement because she believed Brandon, who had been so dedicated to her, would treat Adeline just as well.
But now, all the evidence showed that Brandon's so-called rescue was a scheme that had wronged Jason!
The Crag Root Herb was found by Jason.
Brandon and his brother had merely used Jason's friend and Dennis's unfamiliarity to deceive him!
The Phoebe family had even treated Brandon as a savior and given the Torres Group many business benefits.
Brandon looked innocently at Zara, then at Adeline.
Finally, he lowered his head. "It's my fault..."
He sighed. "When I found out Mrs. Phoebe needed the Crag Root Herb to save her life, I was desperate."
"But..."
He looked down at his legs in the wheelchair. "But I'm already a cripple."
"I couldn't go find it myself, so I asked my cousin Randy..."
He closed his eyes in pain, leaning back in the wheelchair, his voice filled with anguish.
"I urged Randy every day to find it. I even gave him everything I had left."
"Eventually, he promised he'd find a way."
"And then, as you know, he brought back the Crag Root Herb, and I rushed to Swan Villa to find Dr. Gonzalez..."
As he spoke, he sighed again.
"I had no idea Randy would do all this behind my back."
"I thought he had sent people to find it, but I never imagined he used such methods."
Brandon clenched his fists and began pounding his legs.
"It's all my fault! It's my uselessness!"
"My legs were crippled in a car accident and later shot by an assassin!"
"If I could stand, if I could go find it myself, none of this would have happened."
He looked up, tears in his eyes.
Brandon looked at Dennis and Zara, bowing deeply.
"I only found out about this today."
"I apologize for my ignorance and my brother Randy's actions."
He looked solemnly at Zara.
"I will ensure the Phoebe family gets back all the business benefits given to the Torres family because of this. We will renegotiate the agreements."
"If Mrs. Phoebe feels the title of savior is inappropriate, I will hold a press conference to clarify."
He then turned to Dennis. "Dr. Gonzalez, if you feel I insulted you like Jason did, whatever compensation you want, the Torres family will provide."
Dennis squinted. "Any compensation?"
The veins on Brandon's forehead twitched, a flash of coldness in his eyes.
But he still smiled. "Of course, any compensation."
Dennis smiled.
"What you did didn't hurt me much. I was just deceived."
"But you stole Jason's credit, driving a wedge between him and Adeline... You owe Jason."
Brandon's voice, usually gentle, turned cold.
"So what does Dr. Gonzalez want me to do?"
"Cancel the engagement I just announced this morning?"
Dennis laughed. "You've worked hard for this engagement. Canceling it isn't realistic, and now that it's public, it's not just about you and Adeline."
He shrugged. "My request is simple."
"Let Adeline come with me to Swan Villa now to catch up with Jason."
"Mr. Torres, do you agree?"
