Chapter 318 Diana, Long Time No See
"I need everyone's help to get justice."
"Since my suicide attempt failed, I'm determined to live."
"But once I expose Adeline's crime, she won't leave me alone."
"I don't have enough evidence to jail her, so this is my only option. I just want her to back off..."
Ava's tearful plea moved everyone.
The reporters were visibly upset.
"She's so pitiful. Who's Adeline?"
"Rumor has it she's Jasper's mistress at the company."
"Plus, she has a famous artist as her boyfriend."
The chatter grew more intense.
Adeline, at the center of it all, kept her head down, doodling on paper.
"Adeline?"
Seeing her distracted, Sebastian frowned and softly reminded her, "It's almost your turn."
Adeline snapped back to reality, realizing it was her turn next.
She took a deep breath, organized her notes, and stood up calmly after number 7 finished.
"Ms. Lopez, with Adeline's influence, aren't you afraid she'll retaliate after this press conference?"
Ava frowned. "I believe justice will prevail."
"With so many kind-hearted people and netizens supporting me, I'm not afraid of Adeline."
"Ms. Lopez, what are your plans after this? Will you keep working as a designer's assistant?"
Ava smiled. "I haven't thought about that yet."
"No, you have already decided."
Adeline sneered and signaled to Sebastian.
Sebastian quickly aimed the projector at the big screen.
Adeline clicked through the images. "Ms. Lopez has already signed a contract with a media company to become an internet celebrity, right?"
The room erupted in shock.
"Yes, everyone guessed right."
"This whole thing is a publicity stunt." Adeline smiled coldly. "The evidence is on the screen. This one shows Ms. Lopez negotiating with the media company."
"This one shows them signing the contract."
"This one shows them planning the suicide attempt."
"And this last one is the contract itself, clearly stating that the first task after signing is this suicide incident."
"They used the suicide attempt to attract attention and make money, a despicable tactic."
Seeing the evidence, Ava's face turned pale. She gripped the armrests of her wheelchair tightly, glaring at the masked female reporter.
The more Ava looked, the more familiar the reporter's eyes seemed!
Seeing Ava's fixed gaze, Adeline smiled faintly, took off her hat and mask, and looked at Ava coldly, "I told you I would come today." Everyone turned their attention to Adeline.
They realized the female reporter was Adeline herself!
"These photos are fake, they're doctored!"
"The contract is forged by Adeline!"
Ava glared at Adeline, teeth clenched. "I didn't expect you to stoop so low to slander me!"
Tears streamed down her face. "Adeline, I know you have power and influence."
She wiped her tears. "For someone like you, forging these things is easy."
"You say it's a publicity stunt, but no one would risk their life for that."
"I was truly desperate back then; otherwise, I wouldn't have attempted suicide."
"I've broken both my legs, you can see that."
Adeline raised an eyebrow. "Ms. Lopez, have you really broken both legs?"
Her questioning made Ava falter slightly. Diana, behind her, gently patted her shoulder. Encouraged, Ava raised her head. "Adeline, what do you mean?"
"I jumped from such a high place; how could it be fake?"
Adeline smirked. "What if it is fake?"
Ava bit her lip, unable to suppress her anger. "I was humiliated and bullied by your people, driven to despair, and jumped, breaking both legs! And you still doubt that I'm faking it!"
"Whether you're faking it or not, everyone will soon know."
Adeline took out her phone and dialed a number. "Mr. Taylor, please come in."
As the call ended, the door to the press conference opened.
An elderly man with white hair, supported by Sebastian's assistant Charles Anderson, walked in slowly.
Someone in the crowd of reporters exclaimed, "Mr. Taylor!"
"The world's top orthopedic doctor!"
"My God, someone of his stature has very strict conditions for seeing patients, how did he come to Radiance Springs!?"
Adeline smiled, greeted Steven Taylor, then turned to the crowd.
"Coincidentally, my boyfriend Sebastian's father is an old friend of Mr. Taylor."
"Upon hearing that Ms. Lopez broke her legs because of me, my boyfriend Sebastian specially invited Mr. Taylor to diagnose Ms. Lopez, hoping to heal your legs."
Ava's face turned even paler. She bit her lip, shrinking into the wheelchair. "I don't need it! Don't think you can win me over with this!"
"Is it that you don't need me to win you over, or you don't dare to let Mr. Taylor examine you?"
Adeline smirked at her. "Ms. Lopez, come on, thousands of your fans are watching."
"Mr. Taylor came here only to cure you."
"Please let him check your condition."
Ava gritted her teeth; words failed her.
Diana, pushing the wheelchair behind her, sensed something off.
The original plan for Ava was perfect; she even anticipated that Adeline would find an orthopedic doctor. So, she had already bribed all the orthopedic doctors in Radiance Springs. But she didn't expect Adeline to bring Mr. Taylor.
She bit her lip, silently letting go of the wheelchair's handle, trying to sneak away amidst the chaos. Adeline quickly blocked her, grabbing her wrist. "Diana."
"Long time no see."
