Chapter 389 Lend Her a Hand

"Timothy merely bumped into you by accident, causing the soup to spill on your clothes. Regardless of how expensive your attire may be, it's unreasonable to demand full-price compensation from us.

Robert smiled and reasoned with Hazel, "I see the area where the soup splashed isn't large, so the damage shouldn't cause much. The dry cleaning fee at Radiance Springs is generally around $80 to $100. How about this? I'll have Timothy compensate you $200 for the dry cleaning fee. Does that work for you?""

Robert smiled warmly and gently, while Timothy watched in a bit of a daze.

"$200 for dry cleaning?" Hazel was clearly dissatisfied with Robert's proposed solution. "$200? Are you trying to brush me off like a beggar?"

After saying that, Hazel looked at Timothy, Robert, and Adeline up and down.

After a moment, she sneered, her eyes full of contempt. "All dressed up so nicely, can't even come up with $50,000?"

Hazel's voice was loud, attracting the attention of almost everyone in the restaurant.

Seeing the eyes on her, Hazel became even more smug. "You bumped into me, dirtied my $50,000 dress, and don't want to take responsibility.

"I am afraid that all the money in your pockets combined isn't worth as much as my dress?"

Lucia's expression soured, and even Robert, usually calm and composed, looked displeased.

This was clearly a small matter, but why was Hazel escalating it and mocking them?

In truth, fifty thousand dollars was insignificant to any of them. Nonetheless, demanding such an exorbitant sum simply because soup was spilled on a piece of clothing seemd tantamount to extortion, did it not?

Timothy snorted coldly at Hazel's arrogance. "What, just a bit of spilled soup, and you want me to compensate you the full price of the dress?"

"Otherwise?" Hazel retorted with a scoff. "If you can't afford it, just say so!"

"I can afford it! Isn't it just $50,000? I can come up with that!" After saying that, he sneered and pointed directly at the dress Hazel was wearing. "But if I really compensate you $50,000, then this dress should be mine, right?"

Timothy continued, "You might as well take it off right here and now. As long as you take it off, I'll pay!"

Hazel's expression darkened instantly. Although it was late summer, the day was still hot, and she was only wearing this one dress.

How embarrassing would it be to take it off on the spot?

Thinking of this, Hazel pointed at Timothy's face and started cursing, "You're so young and already a pervert! You scoundrel!"

Adeline frowned, feeling that although Timothy's words were satisfying, they were a bit too much.

Hazel wasn't a good person, but she was still an older woman.Timothy's words were not only disrespectful but also a bit frivolous.

Adeline stepped forward, pulling Timothy behind her. "Say less."

Then she addressed Hazel. "Timothy's words were indeed harsh; don't overthink it. He was just telling the truth.

"You said your dress is worth $50,000. If we pay you $50,000, it means we are buying the dress, right?

"We can't pay you the full price, and then you secretly dry clean the dress and continue wearing it, can we?"

Hazel's face turned ugly. She glared coldly at Adeline. "The $50,000 is your compensation to me. Why should I give you my expensive dress?"

She took out her phone. "I can't argue with you all! I'm calling Ms. Jones to help me solve this! Ms. Jones has a very powerful boyfriend!

"When she marries him, she'll be the most distinguished woman in Radiance Springs. Since I'm her personal maid, if you mess with me, you're dead!"

After saying that, she dialed a number and stepped aside to make a call, "Ms. Jones."

After Hazel went to make the call, Timothy, Robert, and Lucia exchanged glances, then simultaneously turned their eyes to Adeline. "Is it the Ms. Jones we think it is?"

Adeline smiled indifferently. "It's her."

After saying that, she yawned and turned to walk through the crowd to sit at her table. She beckoned them, "Come over and eat."

Robert, Lucia, and Timothy were silent. They remarked incredulously, "You can still eat."

Timothy sneered, sitting across from Adeline, his voice full of indignation. "She hurt my Anne in the morning, and now her servant is causing trouble for me at noon!"

Robert slowly distributed knives and forks to everyone while he said nonchalantly, "She's not your Anne."

Timothy rolled his eyes at him, irritated, he claimed, "She will be mine sooner or later. You can't beat me!"

Robert chuckled softly. "We'll see."

Adeline sighed while eating.

Young people's feelings were clear and bright. Unlike her, who met Jasper at the age when she should have been in love. From that moment on, she could no longer conduct her romantic life openly and honestly like others.

Seeing Robert and Timothy still arguing about Anne, Lucia became a bit annoyed and quickly interrupted them, "Actually, I have something to tell you."

Timothy and Robert quieted down and turned to look at her.

Lucia continued, "That woman's dress." Lucia took a deep breath. "I bought it for my mom. The same style, brand, and fabric. I picked it out myself and I wouldn't mistake it."

Timothy gave her a thumbs-up, saying, "I didn't expect  you who usually wears clothes worth just a few hundred dollars to be so willing to spend generously on your mother."

Lucia rolled her eyes at him impatiently. "What I mean is, that dress isn't worth $50,000! I bought it at a regular store counter for only $500. But that woman kept saying $50,000, it shocked me."

After saying that, Lucia looked at Adeline. "That woman said Luna bought the dress for her. Do you think Luna lied to her about the price, or is she trying to extort us?"

Adeline remarked with a smile, "The former is more likely."

If Luna, who found a boyfriend like Jasper, only bought that woman a $500 dress, how could Hazel think Luna was kind and could lead her to a good life?

While they were discussing Hazel's dress, Adeline's phone rang.

It was Jasper calling, "Where are you?"

Adeline replied, "I'm at the restaurant below the hospital."

Jasper's voice paused slightly. He requested, "That's perfect. I need a favor.

"I'm a bit busy and can't leave right now. Luna's condition is unstable, and she can't come down.

"One of Luna's friends is being bullied in the restaurant below. Take your people and help her out. I'll have her come down to find you."
